After VIGIL & ANTE Studios’ latest publicity stunt, Agent Rosemary Collins and former supervillain Ironfall must maintain their cover by starring in a film of their own. This calls for a precarious truce, one rife with suspicion. But with ANTE remnants still at large, the pair must set aside their feelings, join forces again, and hunt the enemy down.
Following their only lead, Rosemary and Ironfall barely escape ANTE’s latest secret weapon: a brutal villain with a tranquillizing touch. The VIGIL team now has more questions than answers, sending them on a twisted ride of challenged loyalties and revenge. Rosemary and Ironfall must figure out who is a hero, who is a villain, and whether or not they can trust each other before this new threat destroys everything they care about.
ANTE was always prepared to lose. Now they’re about to rise again.

3.5 stars ⭐️ Clean Fiction - YA, Contemporary, Fantasy, Superheroes
First things first, I reread the prior book to remember all the details of the events before reading this book, but there was a handy dandy recap at the beginning of this sequel. Oh well. It was all fresh, at least!
I must compliment the titles of this duology. If you’ve read the books, I feel like you’ll understand the significance and how perfect they are and the underlining message of them. 👏
We get Ironfall/Rhett/Nolan/Whatever-his-name-is‘s POV in this book, which was actually a pleasant surprise! I’ll be the first to admit that I didn’t love the idea of him and Rosemary together as a couple, but because we see his POV, we really see how sorry he is for the events in the first book. I’m usually a tough judge when it comes to this kind of thing—I mean, come on, he tried to kill her—but I could see how truly apologetic he is.
There was a bit more recapping of events, things, and feelings from both main characters that I think could have been cut, because the reader should already know them or were just told it a few pages earlier.
I do have two comments on spoilery-things that didn’t make sense to me: *Spoiler 1*
*Spoiler 2*
I didn’t love the ending because of some events then, but I will say that I didn’t see all of it that happened coming, so it kept me on my toes while reading. When it came to the action at the very end, however, it felt a little anti-climatic.
I could definitely see the author’s growth in this sequel compared to the first book and I’m very pleasantly surprised by how much I approve of the ending for Rosemary and Ironfall—me, the girl who usually can’t stand having a hero and a villain together as a couple. The redemption arc wasn’t the main plot of this story, but it was a (naturally done and reasonable) side element of it. I still say he needs a normal name, though. 😉
For some reason, this book reminded me of The Incredibles 2 movie. Perhaps it was because of the new supervillain, but I think it could have just been because of the superheroes vs supervillain aspect as well. If you enjoy that movie (or the first one) + Tumblr/fangirl aesthetics, you might check out this duology!
Superpowers in this book including healing by touch, sedating others by touch, someone morphing into another appearance, another being called a “human glow stick” due to being able to glow/affect light, a woman who can control temperature, a shapeshifter, and a woman stronger than four grown men (most all of these are seen and experienced on-page).
The villain group seems to be trying to create superpower villains (*Spoilers* ).
A mention of praying (but not said towards Whom); A mention of a prayer vigil for a deceased person; A mention of Ironfall saying he has the body of a Greek god.
No language, minor words and phrases like the following are used instead: crap, dang, freaking, gosh, heck, idiot, kick butt, oh my gosh, shut up, stupid, ticked, what the heck; Sarcasm & Eye rolling; A few mentions of curses (said, not written).
In Ironfall’s POV, we see his guilt over all the people he has hurt and the lives he has taken, plus hearing the echo of his father’s (negative) voice; He also feels guilt when lying (which he notes he never used to feel like that); He tells Rosemary about being a child and his father making him into a villain (threatening that he would slit Ironfall’s throat just like he taught him to do to others if he didn’t obey); Ironfall wonders if he is a failure like his father would tell him; Ironfall feels the weight of all the lives he has taken and doesn’t know if he’ll ever be able to forgive himself or right his wrongs.
*Spoilers for Book 1* .
*Spoilers* .

Mentions of kisses & kissing; Mentions of girlfriends/boyfriends & dating; Mentions of crushes & a guy trying to impress a girl; A few mentions of fangirls over Ironfall (including Rosemary calling them feral at one point).
This is a delightful YA series. The stakes, the relationships, the found family…all of it is so well done. I admit, I’m not always the biggest fan of YA these days. But I’m so grateful to add books to the roster of things I’ll recommend to slightly younger YA readers.
Also: Ironfall. The redemption arc was so good. That is all
Can supervillain Ironfall really be redeemed? Can he turn over a new leaf, leave behind the crimes of his past and maybe even fall in love? Find out in this finale by joining Ironfall, Rosemary, Sam, and all the VIGIL stars in this new adventure that reads like a superhero romance MOVIE! If you love Marvel films, spies, superheroes, enemies to lovers, he falls first, don’t touch her, and redemption arcs, then you NEED to read this book!
Omg I’m actually OBSESSED with this book, I mean the writing and the romance and the plot and THE ROMANCE, I want another like 5 books just so I can see their romance
Rosemary: I just adored her in this book, she was so strong, even through her grief and struggles and her issues with her love for Ironfall! I loved all the moments we got with the whole Vigil crew.
Ironfall: I actually was not expecting his pov, but It. Was. Amazing. I loved seeing the story from his pov, especially since we got to see how much he LOVED Rosemary. It was also interesting to see how he truly felt about everything that has gone down in the past.
The Plot: we have so many moments to talk about, like when he was like “Don’t Touch Her” and I was like AHHH OMG HE SAID IT and had a 2 am freak out, or when they were doing the betrayal scene in IRONFALL’S POV, which was sooo amazing bc he was was so hurt about it and was like no I love uuuu and THEN KISSES HER, WHICH HELLO NO WORDS and right after when they cry together which was adorable and then THE NIGHTMARE???? HELLO??? I am actually obsessed with the nightmare trope, it’s a real addiction, and then when their on the red carpet and he comforts her and I just started screaming and then the end when he BREAKS OUT OF PRISON FOR HER which is wild like where is my supervillain??? But then HES GONNA SACRIFICE HIMSELF FOR HER AHHHH IM DYING ITS SO AMAZING
But yeah I cherished this book, It was astonishing and was written so well and I can’t wait to see what else Miss. McCullough writes!!

🦸~Characters~🦸 (Rosemary Collins "London Peters") FMC I really liked her. She finally came to her senses about Ironfall!!!
(Ironfall "Rhett Wickford") MMC I really liked him he was still so funny and getting his POV made me like him even more.
(Agent Liam Blake "Xavier Jay") VIGIL & ANTE DIRECTOR he was such a dad to everyone in the VIGIL Family.
(Agent Manda "Jana Anthony") She was still a kick butt first ask questions later kinda person and I didn't love that about her but I liked her nonetheless.
(Agent Ver Larsen "Noelle Atkins") VIGIL & ANTE HACKER I really liked her she was like a big sister to Rosemary and I loved it.
(Consultant Sam Hunt) ROSEMARY'S FRIEND He was still so funny and annoying but like in a likeable way idk and they finally let him be an extra. I really liked him
(Mia) SAM'S GIRLFRIEND Yeah sam has a gIrLfRiEnD lol I liked her.
(Cloaker) SAFEGUARDER He is the Shapeshiftingpet™ of the VIGIL Family. If he has some DNA from someone he can morph to look and sound exactly like them so that's cool I liked him.
(The Sedator) SUPERVILLAIN He was kinda like a mummy looking guy and he can make people sleep and have weird dreams with just a touch I didn't like him.
(Degree Surge) SAFEGUARDER She just Controled the temperature So I didn't really like her a lot but she is sam's celebrity crush so..

📁~Quotes~📁 “Action!” the director shouted. Time to act. The film set disappeared as the pretend world became real before my eyes. All I could see was a Rosemary who I thought trusted me. A time before I knew she worked for VIGIL. And it was my everything.
“I’ll catch you if you fall,” Ironfall said. My grip slipped. What did he just say? Laughter blasted through my earpiece. “Romance at its finest.” Hilarious, Sam. Ironfall said nothing. Not acknowledging it was the best move.
I could have lost her. I couldn’t imagine that. She was the only person I had, even if she hated me.
The shrouded man said nothing. So beat it out of him. Yes, if there was ever a time to listen to my father’s advice, it would be to get my girl back. My girl? Where had that come from?

I was absolutely thrilled to get to read an early copy of We Will Be Heroes! I loved the first book so much, and I needed more Ironfall in my life.
I’m going to give this one a 4.75. It’s gotta be higher than the 4.5 I gave We Could Be Villains. I think Megan’s writing has improved a lot since book 1, this one didn’t feel as repetitive, and I think making it dual POV with Rosemary and Ironfall certainly helped as well.
What I loved: -enemies to lovers (it was executed perfectly) -he falls first (and hard!) -“don’t touch her” -redemption arc -found family -more of the movie/red carpet side -SHIELD vibes -a new villain -superhero teamwork with the Safeguarders (powered and non powered team up)
A few things that I felt could have been better: -the interrogation didn’t add as much this time as it did in book 1 and was a little distracting -not quite as twisty as I was hoping -ANTE’s motivation in this one seemed lacking -could have been longer and the plot a little more fleshed out (heavy on the character growth and not as much the plot)
Overall, I really loved it. These will be books I return to, and certainly ones I will give my daughter in a few years. It’s perfect for the mid YA crowd, and for superhero and Marvel fans, this really isn’t a story to miss. I am hoping for more in this universe from Megan because I am not ready to leave Ironfall, Rosemary, and the whole VIGIL team!
I rated 4 stars from the previous book and still really enjoyed this one even if it went down ever so slightly.
Before I go into this book I'm just going to say that I loved both books, the characters and story are really cool and so creative. I've read a lot of books with morally grey characters so this was a breath of fresh air to read some morally good characters.
---
My only negative isn't fully negative. The dialogue and narration from the characters felt very repetitive. It seemed more tell rather than show. The details that had to do with show didn't come off very strong. Still, the writing was pretty clear and easy to follow. I had a little trouble understanding the plot for a while at the start in the first book but this was better.
I do wish there was a bit more focus on the plot since it seemed so character driven but that's not really a complaint because it felt evened out by the first book focusing on plot and less on the character relationships.
Speaking of plot, it felt the slightest bit (and I hate to use this word but I can't think of another) corny. I could generally understand why Rosemary's dad did what he did but it felt a bit weak. The dialogue also felt a bit weaker in those areas but overall it was fine and I was still enjoying it.
Finally, honestly I think they book should have been longer. Mostly because it didn't feel like the side characters were fleshed out as much as they could have been. Again, not a complaint, the story was focusing more on Ironfall and Rosemary so I totally get that. Problem was that I ended up getting a little confused at how vague things were about other characters that I was convinced Cloaker was a bad guy and was going to betray them lol. I also couldn't really get myself to care too much about the rest of the Safeguarders since the interactions with them were pretty short. I can only really remember 1 or two off the top of my head but I had a hard time remembering a lot of the side characters when they would be mentioned. Perhaps a longer book could have helped flesh that out since I did see a lot of potential there and would've loved to see more.
Overall: I still really liked this book!! Huge props to the author because WRITING IS HARD. The world was really interesting and honestly the whole story idea is fascinating because I know I've always wondered as a kid about what the world would be like if superheros were real. I got both of these books as ebooks and I plan on purchasing the physical copies one day to keep. I want to reread them again sometime in the future. If the author writes any other books I will immediately jump to read them because I do think the author is very talented.

What a conclusion to an amazing duology!! I was so exited to get to read a copy of this book early because waiting until July 23 seemed impossible!! Thank you Whimsical Publishing🫶🏻
I really loved that Ironfalls POV was used in this book! I was wondering if the book was going to be entirely in his POV since he was on the cover but in so glad we still got Rosemary’s perspective!
In all honesty I didn’t think that the interview section added much this time, in the first book I loved having Ironfall kind of narrate the story but in this one I didn’t think it was as helpful. But the Tumblr style memes were GOLD, I loved how authentic it was, just like the first book!
I also got strong short story vibes from this book, maybe it was how fast I read it (around 4 hours) but I think I would have liked a little slower progression of the story and maybe like 100 more pages.
That aside I loved seeing all the VIGIL team again! And I loved all the new characters too. But Sam is still my favorite side character!! I just really loved him in this book. I thought he was portrayed perfectly, and he’s hilarious!
I never saw the twists in this book coming! I was shocked by some of them, in the best way of course! And the NEW VILLAIN!! In my opinion the new villain was just what this story needed! Although I’m not sure the VIGIL team would agree with me😅
Overall I was so happy with this book! It was the perfect way to end the series and I will definitely be looking out for more of Megan McCullough’s books!
Oh. My. Gosh. This book was absolutely AMAZING!!! I didn’t know how the second book could be better than the first but it totally was!! I laughed, squealed, and held my breath through this whole book. The only negative thing about it is that this is the last book. 😭 Definitely make sure you give this a read! 🩵🩵
We Will Be Heroes By Megan Mccullough Book Stats: Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐(4.5/5) Spice Rating: YA ❤️ Tropes: Forced Proximity, Second Chance Publisher: Whimsical Illustration Review: *Thank you so much to both the author and Whimsical Publishing for giving me a copy of this book early in exchange for a honest review- it really means a lot that you trust little old me!*
Picking right where the first book left off, Rosemary is now officially a Vigil agent. Now she has to juggle all that it comes with: Filming her movie, running missions, trying to fight off Ante (and all the emotions that come with that), oh and now Ironfall is being thrown in the mix as he is now claiming he is changed and here to fight for Vigil. Awkward and stressful to say the least? So, If you didn't enjoy the first book as much, I BEG you to give the sequel a chance before giving up. The author has truly grown in her writing, making this series one of my new favorites. Fast pacing, great chemistry between the love interest, and well-thought out fights and plot. What more could you want in a book? Ironfall and Rosemary have really really great chemistry. Seriously, they could just be a entire romance novel on their own. The relationship is built out very well and has some great depth to it. I also love the worldbuilding. We really get to see more of Vigil studios and how it builds into the realism part of the world in this book. When I say the author has grown, one thing I didn't like about the last book is how there felt as though there was too much going on. Too many subplots and such. I can say with full honesty that with this book has the perfect balance. Right amount of side quests but also focusing on the main story, as in the end the all tie back together(which I felt in the other book there was not). I do feel as there is a couple of plot holes still left, but I do think they may also work for books in the future. Honestly just a fun read overall, even if you didn't enjoy the first book. If you enjoy marvel, the villain gets the girl, action novels in general, I think you truly will enjoy this series.
I enjoyed this follow up a lot! It’s a charming read and the whole concept and plot is fun and perfectly young adult. This is a great duology for younger audiences.
The side plot romance was charming and I loved the banter and connection Rosemary and Ironfall created. Learning to trust, making hard decisions and saving the world. It’s fast paced and is an easy book to read in an afternoon.
I look forward to more books by this author! Definitely a charming writer.
2.5 💫 unfortunately i didn’t enjoy this one as much as the first 😕 it was really really repetitive and poor sam was literally getting bullied by everyone. give the kid a break 😭
“No matter what happens, I’ll be right there. We’ll do it together. Side by side.” ~ Ironfall
Did I binge this in a day? Yes! Was I on the edge of my seat the entire time? Yes!
In We Could be Villains we meet Rosemary, a normal girl who splits her days between school, home, work and fangirling over The Vigil and Ante Studio Movies. But after coming face to face with the villain from those very movies her whole world is turned upside down. Her favourite movies are real, and the supervillain wants her help. We follow as Rosemary works alongside Vigil to try and stop Ante. We are reunited with Rosemary in this book on the set of her own movie. But Ante seem to be planning something, and it's up to Rosemary alongside Vigil to work out what it is and stop them.
I knew going into this book that I was going to love it! I couldn't put WCBV down when I first read it last year and it was exactly the same case while reading WWBH! I binged my way through it and read it in under 24 hours. Megan is such an incredible writer. She's able to not only pour so much emotion into her writing but also the detail she goes into so that the reader feels like they are right alongside Rosemary and Ironfall. The twists and turns she managed to squeeze into this book were incredible! I didn't see any of them coming, and couldn't hold in my gasps when they happened.
When a book has as many superpowered fight scenes as this book has the pacing of the writing needs to be spot-on, and Megan accomplished that! The writing flows so well. You'll tell yourself you're only going to read a few chapters and end up reading half the book.
Diving back into Rosemary's head was so nice! But getting to see things from Ironfalls pov was a very interesting twist. Seeing the story unfold from both of them added a lot to the book and I'm really glad that Megan wrote it like that! Seeing Sam and Ver and Manda and Liam again was so nice, I forgot how much I love their little group moments. And it was nice being introduced to more members of Vigil.
I would love to see a novella set between books 1 and 2 as the time jump does seem like a big one. I'd love to see how they find Cloaker.
Overall I adored this book! It was gripping, and full of twists, and I loved the romance! I managed to get an exclusive edition of the book along with the pre-order goodies so I can't wait to receive that!
I have been waiting for this book for a so long and was absolutely blown away when I was accepted to read to arc! We could be villains is my favorite book of all time so of coarse when I got the book a binged read it in a day because that a perfectly normal thing to do. Here is my complete review of we will be heroes!
THINGS I LIKED
-The book was told in a dual POV (Ironfall/rosemary) and I normally do not like that but I absolutely loved getting a glimpse into ironfall’s strange brain.
-The tropes were absolutely perfect- 💥He falls first (we would expect nothing less from this lovesick boy) 💥Enemies to lovers (the relationship growth was insane. I loved to see rosemarys POV on it.) 💥Movie magic (rosemary was living the dream) 💥Superheroes (think marvel) 💥On screen kiss (it was even more epic then I thought it would be. No spoilers!) 💥Spies (they had to figure out how to take down ANTE) 💥Walking the red carpet (strut) 💥Nightmare comfort (think peeta and katniss in catching fire. I was LIVING!) 💥Don’t touch her (Ironfall is protective of “his girl”) 💥Film set shenanigans (aka making Sam jealous) They were so fun!
- ironfalls redemption arc was insane! You can see the fight inside his mind and his thought process of what he wants to be. It was giving “the confrontation” from Jekyll and Hyde.
- it was just such a funny book. I loved our loud so many times. The banter was perfect and I loved it so much. Sam shipping starfall is my Roman Empire.
- the relationship building for a lot of the characters was amazing and I loved to meet all the new characters.
- im being honest when I say I literally highlighted the entire book because I loved it so much.
- this is my favorite series ever and it feels so weird Nora that I now there’s never gonna be another one. Thsi book literally changed my life because I can’t stop thinking about it and I’m devastated that it’s over.
OTHER
It had a kind of different feel then the first book that I CANT quite put my finger on. It may be the change in setting or the bit of a time jump but I’m not complaining.
I feel that Megan could totally make a little novella between the books but I don’t know what she’s planning after finishing this series that she’s been working on since 2017?!? Like can you believe it? Megan is my hero and I wish that everyone can read her books and feel the same joy that they have brought me. PREORDER NOW!!! Or I will literally find you!
Thank you so much for the shoutout in the book! It meant a lot. 😂
This book had more plot holes than words. Is it better than the first? Perhaps - I listened to this as an audiobook, and I’m much more inclined to listen to lower quality books than I am to read them myself. But it’s hard to look at the positives of a book when the narrator makes you want to stop listening. The voice she gave Sam was so whiney and awful. Do not hire her for your audiobooks.
One big question for me is why on Earth are the supposed “good guys” FORCING characters to act out their greatest traumas? If someone is crying and begging you not to make them act in your movie scene, figure something else out. It’s honestly sheer luck for Vigil that Rosemary just happened to be a great actress to keep the quality of their movies high while using it as a government cover up. But if she’s struggling with real PTSD then y’all need to get off her back and not force her to relive something traumatic when she’s clearly unready.
Speaking of Rosemary, it makes no sense that they decided to make her name Rosemary in the movie, but then have her real life name changed to London. Everyone she ever went to school and work with was calling her Rosemary up until she joined your movie, and you expect them to just accept that she was acting her whoooole life for this role and her name has really been London the whole time? Yeah, okay…
And why was Ante quiet about this the whole time??? Imagine your enemies are making movies and pretending you’re all just actors to keep the government happy. Your goal is to stop your enemies. Keep them distracted and keep the public against them. What’s the best way to do that? Reveal that they’re covering things up! Reveal that the government is keeping secrets and people will feel betrayed. A public demanding answers from Vigil as they scramble to keep their public image is the perfect distraction that Ante would want. So WHY did they not just reveal their existence to everyone so much sooner?
I’m not going to sit here and continue to list everything wrong with this book because it was a LOT. I did enjoy listening to it to a certain extent. I suppose I don’t regret listening, even if it wasn’t the best writing I’ve listened to. I wouldn’t really recommend this series unless you’re really looking for a quirky, nerdy read.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I waited two years for this sequel and, frankly, it’s everything I hoped it would be.
For starters, THE EXQUISITE PINING. Ugh, I love me some good angst and pining and this had it in spades. It switched POV between Rosemary and Ironfall and he was smitten from second one. We all knew my man Ironfall was enamored with Rosemary almost from the moment he met her, but it was nice to get some confirmation.
And it was nice to see Rosemary’s conflicted emotions. She CLEARLY still had feelings for him but the distrust ran deep and was hard to shake.
I will say that it dragged a bit in the beginning. We probably could have had a little less of all the on screen stuff, but when the action picked up, it PICKED UP. I remember the first book being kinda the same way. A lot of slow build up for a big, satisfying pay off.
But everything that you hoped would happen in this sequel, happened (and maybe a few things that you didn’t know you wanted.)
I was given an eARC in exchange for an honest review
Ahhh!!!! I LOVED We Will Be Heroes!!! It was perfect in every single way, and I CANNOT wait for my physical copy to arrive in the mail. This book was absolutely the ending I needed for Rosemary and Ironfall. It is beautifully written, with a plot that thickens and becomes more exciting with every page. And hey...the romance is cute and swoon-worthy, without any explicit scenes or swearing. This book was a win for me in every way possible. Do yourself a favor and read this book (that is, after you've read the first one: We Could Be Villains).
It was great getting back into this series. It had been a while since I read the first one and I had forgotten some of the things that had happened, but was quickly reminded of them as they were mentioned throughout this story.
I loved seeing my favorite characters back again as I felt like they didn't get enough "screen" time in the first one.
There were a few situations in the book that felt a little contrived to me, hence taking away one star, but they didn't detract from the book too much. All-in-all, I really enjoyed it as it was a fun and enjoyable read if you're just looking for something fun.
I absolutely loved We Could Be Villains so I was super excited when book two was announced!
This was a fantastic addition to the story! We get to watch as Rosemary and Ironfall learn to trust each other again after the betrayals in book one, and see as their relationship develops again. I loved getting introduced to some new characters and reconnecting with old ones. My favorite part is watching Ironfall become friends with Sam and the other characters too!
We Will Be Heroes is an action packed adventure full of super heroes, villains, and characters you’ll love!
I read the WCBV in January 2023, and now finally over a year later in August 2024 I got to read the conclusion! It was SO GOOD!!! 🤩 I love Rosemary and Ironfall so much, and they went through so many obstacles to be free and together. 🥲🥰 Just like the first book, WWBH is packed with action, espionage, superheroes and villains, humor, cute moments, edge-of-your-seat scenes, sweet and clean romance, a movie making plot, and great writing!! Truly loved this book and am glad just to see the characters happy again. 😆
Where are the words?? Megan, you have written the book of every fangirls’ dreams! You’ve created a world that feels like home, and wrote characters that have become family. AND you managed to fit almost all my favorite tropes into one book?! To say I am impressed is an understatement! I may have felt called out at certain moments (🫣🤭), but overall, this story is one where whenever I pick it up, I feel like I’m revisiting a friend. If you’re a fan of superheroes, found family, and redemption stories, this series is for you! (I’m very, very proud of you, Megan!!! 🫶🏼)
i’m always a sucker for when we get a second pov in the second book, and this one absolutely hit the mark. getting ironfall’s pov really brought this story to the next level. we were actually able to understand his character on a deeper level, which actually ended up making him my favourite character.
and i loved that the dynamic between rosemary and ironfall was still tense and uncertain at the beginning. they both had valid reasons to feel that way from the ending of the first book, so i’m glad it was taken seriously and not just glossed over.
Ahhhhh! I love this series so much, the overall concept—that movie superheroes and villains are all secretly real—is super fun (no pun intended) and the characters are very lovable. Definitely fandom worthy.
I didn’t enjoy this one quite as much as the first one, but WCBV was just so good that it’s a tough bar to live up to and the fact that I was comparing them constantly in my head is on me lol.
BUT ANYWAY The completion of all the arcs was very satisfying hehe 😌 the main ship is amazing and I love them ahhhh
As much as it sucks that it’s over this is one of the most satisfying conclusions to a series I have read. I can’t at the moment think of any strings that were left hanging. I really enjoyed this, just wish we got more. I loved the dual perspectives in this book, it was nice to have Ironfall’s perspective and I think it added to the story significantly. I liked reading how he felt about himself and his father and Rosemary.
This series is so fun! It’s a great YA novel filled with action, swoon and a fun twist on super heroes! I definitely recommend especially for lovers of comics and marvel. The narrator she doesn’t a great job bringing these characters to life makes it easy to follow the story.
I’m really thankful to whimsical publishing for the audio book so I could finally finish book 2! My review is my own opinion.
This book (& “We Could Be Villains”) was a fun, quick paced debut duology (?) featuring Marvel-esque superheroes who pretend to be in action movies as a cover for their heroics & superpowers. The plot points aren't subtle, the dialogue is a lil cheesy, it's got a lot more telling than showing, and the teenagers gonna teenager; but, they're entertaining and actually appropriate for YA, so it's 4 stars from me and a rec!
We Will Be Heroes is an action adventure romcom for all people who love young adult fiction (and superheroes, of course). The story is clean which I appreciate. The first half was a bit slow for me, but it really picked up at the halfway mark! The story had a good ending and I am interested to see if there will be more books in this series. And I really enjoyed how the title tied into the story.
Just like the first book in the series, I couldn't put We Will Be Heros down! It had the exact same feel as the first book and was equally as enjoyable. Also, I loved all the Sam commentary in this book! Definitely recommend this series if you love Marvel and Agents of Shield.
I enjoyed getting to see the characters again and loved the redemption of a certain male lead. Seeing the movies come together was fun as well and the new super villain was delightfully terrifying. All in all, this was a fun ending to the first book!
