A little bit about me: I am originally from Worksop, a market town in Robin Hood County in Nottinghamshire. When I left school, I decided to study for a BA in Film and Television at Aberystwyth University in Mid-Wales, and after that, I went on to complete a Master’s degree in Screenwriting.
Eager to travel after my studies, I ventured to Toronto, Canada, where I started working as a talent coordinator for a production agency. When my fantastic Canadian adventure ended, I moved to London, where I worked as a script reader for Tiger Aspect and as a senior production coordinator for Lime Pictures.
I now run a small company that helps screenwriters worldwide succeed in developing their film projects. I live in Aberystwyth, Wales, with my husband, Mike, and our golden retriever, Monty.

Thank you to Rachel Clarke for providing the book for review!
Firstly, thank you so much to the author for reaching out to me asking if I wanted to read the book and sending me a free copy in the post. I love physical copies of books and the front cover of this one is beautiful. I read it on holiday and have been struggling to make up my mind on my rating but in the end I’ve rounded up to 4 stars. Rachel has done a great job of creating an enchanting world for her readers and the world building is good, but there is so much going on and so many places that at times I did struggle. The pacing also caused issues with keeping track of all the different dual-worlds going on. The suspense builds well throughout though and i love how the story unfolds but I felt a bit disconnected from what age range the story was most likely aimed at. Some of the content is a bit too serious for younger readers but at times the writing style felt a bit too simplistic for older teens so that’s where my rating struggled. I think it has comparisons to “The Chronicles of Narnia” series in that respect and I believe this one is going to be part of a series too so I will certainly keep my eye out for a sequel. The characters work well and I did enjoy following their lives and seeing how things turned out and I would definitely read more by this author. One other little niggle I had was a couple of errors have managed to slip into the published text but these are easily correctable in later prints and don’t detract much from the text. Overall a pleasantly promising debut.
I'm a big fan of spirituality and anything connected to Tarot I have a deep interest in. I loved this book from start to finish. The writing is smooth, flows really well and the pacing of the book is excellent - its all very visceral and you feel transported into the world it creates as soon as you start reading. Highly recommended for those who love not just spirituality but also love stories about family and relationships.
It felt like there could be a good story here, but it was let down by the writing. No spelling or grammar errors, but so often the wrong word or phase is used, and (maybe it is just me but) every time it jars me out of the story. It is like the author use MS Word to do the proof-reading. I persevered for about two thirds of the book, but must admit I was so disengaged with the characters, I gave up.
A captivating imaginative read! I cannot remember a time when a book drew me in and transported to another world. It’s an original concept and one I am yet to find in another book. An unforgettable reading experience and I was excited to learn there will be a second book.
The author asked if I wanted to read this book for an honest review! Ofcourse! Mostly because the art and world of tarot is uknown for me, I love to read about new things!
This is a beautiful book about the spiritual, family, new worlds, love and magic!
