How does a parent cope with the terrible task of comforting a child with cancer? My Tiny Warrior is a book written by a childhood cancer survivor whose own child had to fight the same disease.
No parent should have to watch their child suffer, and they certainly should not feel alone while they do. It’s often hard to find the right words to comfort your child when your heart is in tatters. Sometimes, all you can do is put one foot in front of the other.
My Tiny Warrior is an educational picturebook written for parents to read to children who are fighting for their lives. The book contains true inspirational stories and beautiful illustrations to inspire them and their children.
A portion of the proceeds from this book go to the following charities; Vision Works in San Antonio and Art for Eyes.
A profoundly moving and beautifully crafted picture book designed to support families navigating the challenging journey of childhood cancer. This educational and inspirational resource is thoughtfully written for parents to share with their children, providing comfort and understanding during a time of immense difficulty. Love and hope are central themes, beautifully woven throughout the narrative and artwork, teaching these values subtly yet powerfully. It serves as a crucial emotional tool for families, helping them to foster positivity, strength, and hope as they support their child. I can relate because of what we went through with my sister. Highly recommended.
Author Feather Chelle, a cancer survivor herself, creates a very personal book that will help children and adults on the journey of childhood cancer. There is so much love and support in this book! It is a collection of real life stories of patients, sweet poems with illustrations, and vital information at the end that includes packing for a warrior, ways to relax, and agencies that might help.
So much info in this book as well as support. This book would make an excellent gift for parents and their children after a diagnosis. Parents will appreciate the information and the children will see others on the path and know that they are not alone.
You've got this! That is what you always hear when on a journey like this and Feather's book supports that perfectly!
This book is very well written and gives the background of the author to start so you know she’s been through all of this. Then there is a sweet story with nice illustrations to read your sick child. I felt they were inspirational and well done. I also liked the survivor stories which is so helpful and lastly, the bit for caregivers was excellent. I only took a star away because of the formatting was off and a little frustrating.
Overall book is good but this is not a children’s book. This is a book for adults with poems that can be read to a child. The information is useful but not as a children’s book. Cover and title make it appear as a story for kids. Know why you’re buying this book so you get what you expect.
I can't find the right words for this book. It brought some emotions, sad for all the pain the warriors have experienced and the loss of eyesight. It is also a joy to note those who survived.
The book illustration is beautiful and warm. The author writing this without sight is amazing.
I truly enjoyed this book. I felt it was a light for all those dealing with health issues. It gave great information on how to cope and things to do to make the time a little more manageable!
This is a strong and loving book about a hard topic. My husband had cancer when he was a child, so I know how the families struggle with this even into adulthood. This book does a good job with the poems and stories. The illustrations are cute, too.
This book is a compilation of stories of survival, beautiful poems, and practical advice. This would be a great gift to give parents or a child as they navigate through cancer treatment.
