Like most self help books it is a whole lot of here is a new chapter with the same things from the previous chapter but in a slightly different order. However, I did learn a few new things which was nice but didn’t need that long of a book to learn them

Read the first couple of chapters and then put it back on the shelf. You’ll learn all that this book has to offer in that time and save yourself having to re-read the same five talking points over and over again.

Absolutely hated this. Read this for a work book club and the second I started reading it, I had the biggest hunch this was written by AI.

Considering this is a book about emotional intelligence, it is absolutely ironic that this soulless, emotionless “book” is written by AI. Upon finishing this book, I ran it through an AI checker and was not surprised to find it was 100% AI generated.

Warning to everyone that thinks about wasting their time and money on this book. I would give this 0 stars if I could

Excellent Information

This knowledge should be taught in schools starting at an early age. Learning how to identify, label, accept, and properly respond to your emotions is vital in maintaining a positive, healthy relationship with your partner. Had I known about these tools, I might have been able to save my latest relationship. Instead of shutting down by being overwhelmed, I could have actively listened to my partner, empathized with her and responded in more healthy ways.

Insightful

I didn’t realize how high my emotional intelligence was until taking the quiz at the beginning of the book. Though there is always more to learn. I enjoyed this quick read and will be sharing with others. I would love for society to become a lot more aware and vocal about our emotions and traumas instead of pushing them down and hiding them.

Initially I was thinking a 3 because I know and practice most of these things BUT reading this book was a powerful reminder of the essential tools for maintaining emotional composure during life’s life-ing. I’ve been more intentional about how I’m processing and navigating life’s stress and my own triggers.

So good!

This book helped me reach a new level of empathy I didn’t know existed. Before, I wasn’t able to show empathy but now I am more comfortable with my empathic skills. I feel more involved and happier in my relationships.

Very important

Emotional intelligence and self-awareness are just some of the things described in this book. Everyone needs to take a mental check of their emotional and mental health. This goes from knowing oneself to developing meaningful relationships with others.

I found the book to explain what EQ was very well. It had some great practical suggestions, but it was pretty repetitive on how it explained things. Each chapter and break down was nice. I especially liked the chapter on dealing with anxiety and depression.

Pretty basic and repetitive. Maybe repeating things over and over is away of pushing seeing things from a different point of view, but it didn't feel like this book was pushing multiple POV's. More like the author was in possession of just enough info for a handbook, but wanted to stretch it out.
