If you are looking for a fair and balanced treatise on the astrological entity, Lilith, this is NOT it. As the title implies, this is the dark side of Lilith and serves as a warning of what her worst-case influence can be, i.e. “stainless steel estrogen with a razor’s edge.” Liliths addressed include Dark Moon Lilith (True and Mean); Jacobson Lilith (a.k.a. Black Moon Lilith) and Asteroid Lilith (Asteroid 1181); stellar Lilith, the fixed star, Algol is mentioned but not in the same depth. This short but not-so-sweet book written in the author’s characteristic style of dry wit and acerbic humor includes a brief description of the Lilith myth and archetype, the astrological implications of each by house placement, and examples of Lilith’s power in action as shown through chart delineations of three women in the news who succumbed to these influences, i.e. Lisa Nowak, Andrea Yates and Casey Anthony.
Marcha Fox was born in Peekskill, New York and has lived in California, Utah and Texas in the course of raising her family. She now lives in the Finger Lakes Region of New York State.
Her most recent work is the multi-award winning "Dead Horse Canyon Trilogy" written with Northern Cheyenne, Pete Risingsun. A cross-cultural conspiracy thriller, it has been praised for its skillful integration of modern political themes, suspense, and indigenous history and culture. Details are available on the series' website, https://www.Dead-Horse-Canyon.com.
Her passion for science fiction began as a child. While her first stories were written in 6th grade describing her teachers' planets of origin, her determination to write seriously in that genre knew no bounds, such that she went back to college in her 30s to obtain a bachelor’s of science degree in physics.
After graduation she spent over 23 years working in the aerospace industry, most of which was at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas where she held a variety of positions including technical writer, engineer and eventually manager.
Science and engineering experience notwithstanding, it’s the unexplained mysteries of the cosmos, such as psi phenomena, time travel and the concept of a universal consciousness, which fascinate her the most and provide the setting for her Star Trails Tetralogy. Centered on the Brightstar family who has been torn apart by a storm of political and scientific intrigue, they will stop at nothing until they are reunited. Marcha Fox is a prolific writer who has addressed a wide variety of subjects, but one of her favorites is science fiction. It began as a love of astronomy, which eventually led to a bachelor of science degree in physics from Utah State University. This was followed by a 21 year career at NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas where she held a variety of positions working with the space shuttle including technical writer, engineer, and eventually manager. Her NASA experiences included trips to Cape Canaveral in Florida, visiting other NASA centers in Mississippi, Alabama and Maryland, as well as trips to the European Space Agency in The Netherlands, but the most memorable was the sad task of helping to recover space shuttle debris in East Texas following the tragic Columbia accident in 2003. She began studying astrology in the 1980s intending to debunk it then. astounded by its accuracy and convinced of its credibility, proceeded to gain a worldwide client base. As a physicist she is deeply aware that many of the most profound mysteries of the universe are yet to be answered and that when the answers are found that the truth and mechanism of astrology will be among them. Amen! "At one time, science, religion and astrology were an integrated whole, which has obviously disintegrated over the years," she explains. "Science and religion have been at odds with one another for centuries, and astrology gradually had a falling out with both. What they fail to tell you in astronomy class is that Kepler, Galileo, Copernicus, and Newton were all astrologers on a quest to obtain more accurate data for their astrological readings and predictions. The objections of the Christian church are more complicated, but it remains a mystery to me how they can believe that God created the planets, yet not recognize how He uses them to communicate with His children. I started out as a skeptic, but nothing religious leaders or scientists say can ever change the fact that it works." I learned a couple of terms i was unfamiliar with -undecile for the aspect of roughly 33 degrees, undecile, eleventh of a circle, and i liked 'eye' for the apex of a yod. I enjoyed this book but it was too short and left me wanting more. More in the way of positive examples would have been welcome. I am off to explore more of her books now...
This book is basics explained in real life cases. Enjoyed the writing and missed enormously the charts, I needed them to visually support what she was explaining.
This book was gifted to me for an honest review. And I'm glad it was. I have always been confused by all the different Liliths referred to in astrological discourses. Marcha Fox not only clearly explains the differences between the Liliths, she does so in an engaging, entertaining manner. Ms. Fox details the mythological backgrounds, the astrological implications, as well as how the different Liliths' placements would manifest in the chart. She describes how Lilith can indicate where one might have issues of subservience, birth trauma or crazed 'psycho bitches from hell' co-workers or girlfriends. Finally, she gives in-depth chart analysis of some notoriously disturbed women and how Lilith played out in their charts. An engrossing, fascinating foray into the dark energy of Lilith!
