Born to a man of faith who let his vision for the future twist his mind,

I learned to stay in the shadows, collecting the kids that ended up in this godforsaken place with me.

They’re the lost ones, and I’m their Wendy.

The forgotten one, the dud, the failure.

My only use now is as a future breeder to the cause.

But they’ve taken enough, and I’ll be damned if I let them take more.

When the chance of escape is dangled before me like a carrot on a stick, I take it.

I run with my lost ones toward a new life where the kids can be kids, and I can be free.

But freedom is an illusion when you belong to another, and your nightmares are ready to hunt you down and drag you back to hell.

What do you do when you can’t run anymore and have nowhere to hide?

You turn back.

You fight back.

And slay your monsters before they get you first.

Forgive me, Father, for I’m about to sin...

The final book in the series was another easy winner. It's again menage and this time we get to experience Lara Crew and Wilder's HEA. Even though each book in this series focuses on a different pairing they do need to be read in order as there is an ongoing story arc throughout. This being the last book we do get some closure and it has some truly heartwarming moments but was also at times incredibly bittersweet.

We were introduced to Lara in the previous book. She is probably the youngest yet of our gifted heroine's but in life experience she is ancient. Lara is the daughter of the boss raised behind the walls of the institute her life hasn't been easy. Deemed useless as her gift was labeled minimal Lara has hidden her true potential from everyone. Now free for the first time in years she's fearful and unsure especially when her fears are proven correct when it's discovered just who her father is. What is it with these Apex men they never learn making the same mistakes time and time again. All I can say is thank god for the level-headed Greg and also Ev. The rest of them men are such bloody dolts who never learn till there apologising all over again.

Crew and Wilder are freaked out when they realise the female they've been lusting after is so much younger than they first assumed. Also with them not quite trusting her motives either things things aren't off to a good start. When Lara then runs the men give chase and when she comes of age all bets are off as they finally claim her for their own.

This one was very fast-paced and I was on the edge of my seat, especially at the end. I do think the finish felt a tad rushed and anticlimactic but i still enjoyed this a lot. The connection between Lara Crew and Wilder was intense and I loved the developed dynamic we arrived at. Overall this series has been so good and such an easy read I totally recommend it.

Loved these books

Kindle recommended this author and I liked the cover so I read them. Nit very sophisticated I know…. But I am so glad I did. I loved the overarching story and I liked how each one bled into the next one. I got a bit teary in places but it was manageable. I am going to read more of this author. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥/5

This is the final book in the Apex Tactical series. Overall I did like this series. I absolutely love this author, I want that out there first. I have read several standalones and one other series by her, and have absolutely loved them. However, this series has had some ups and downs. As far as the series goes, I think that it built up steam and intensity from books one to three. Book three being the best so far in the series for me. So with that I was expecting quite a bit from this final book. Unfortunately, it didn't quite hit the mark for me.

This one is Lara, Wilder and Crew's story. It does have all the characters from the previous books intimately involved, as well as two team characters who we haven't met yet, and four children saved when they fled with Lara. One issue I had was that there were too many moving pieces with all the characters that I think that hindered the story of Lara, Wilder and Crew. There was so much going on that we didn't get a lot of just the three of them.

The first three books had great chemistry between the threesome or foursome, and really good banter - crisp, salty, satirical, funny. I just didn't feel the chemistry between Lara, Wilder and Crew. It felt really stiff and unnatural. I don't really think it was the age difference (17, 34, 35). But I did find it hard to believe that an innocent 17 year old girl with no experience would go from being shy and reserved one day to tell the guys to "f" her, she wanted it so bad the next day. That just didn't fit with her character. It felt like she switched back and forth from young and innocent to sounding like a 40 year old prostitute talking. It didn't come off as sexy or realistic. And the banter wasn't there between the guys and Lara, or even between the guys. I missed that. It was soo good in the other three books.

The other issue I had is that at about 80% the grammar took a nose dive. There were double words, even a double paragraph, one right after the other, same exact paragraph. One example was "though tSalem" instead of "thought Salem". Not sure if that was the editor or publisher, but it's not a good thing for the author. It's her artistry on the line with fatal mistakes that take away from that.

We did get some finality in the end, so that was good. But I am going to have to drop back down to 3 stars for this one. I wish I would have loved it more.

Parting is such sweet sorrow. This is the final book in the Apex Tactical series.

Angst, action-packed, and a rollercoaster of emotions.

MFM Romance
Age-Gap
Forced Proximity
Mercenaries
Plot Twists
Strong MFC
Chosen family

The author just knows how to construct a gripping and emotional series. This final installment has everything I want in a finale. **Cries** I'm only sad, because I have to say goodbye to these characters that will live rent free in your head

The Lethal Touch takes us on a wild hour with Lara, Wilder, Crew and the tactical family as they prepare to take on the big bad.

The most notable character is Lara. She was not raised in a traditional manner, yet she took on the nurturing mother role to the children with ease. With Lara being so young herself, I found her perseverance, conviction and courage to be inspiring.

Without spoilers, Lara puts her found family first and danger ensues. I truly adore heroines like this that are not damsels in distress. Unbeknownst to Lara, the Apex family doesn't abandon their own. Crew and Wilder, join forces with Lara to take on the challenge.

Some of the plot twists had me gasping and the angst made my stomach churn, but those are all signs of a well written book. The visceral reaction.

But, I know what you really want to know, is it spicy? Heck yeah. The author never disappoints. Crew and Wilder are reluctant to face their feelings towards Lara, but when they finally give in, it makes it all that sweeter.

This is a high action, plot heavy storyline that will have you on the edge of your seat. I felt a huge assortment of emotions and I might have tossed my Kindle a few times, but rest assured that everything works out as it should in the end.

As a huge fan of Ms. Wright, I can't recommend this series enough.

With a heavy heart I have to say that I'm so not ready to say goodbye to this amazing series that has made me feel like a part of the Apex Tactical family.

This final climax in the series takes us onto a wild ride with Lara and Wilder and Crew and also the Apex tactical family as they prepare in anticipation of destroying the head of the snake once and for all.

The most beautiful highlight about this book has to be Lara - A young girl who's not been raised like a normal girl yet has acted like a mother to those lost souls.
She's nurtured those little kids like they are her own and especially when she's so young herself.
And what has me in awe of her, is her courage to do what's important to safeguard her newfound family and especially her "kids".

She realises the danger and is downright terrified when she does something to protect everyone, yet she never hesitates to put her life in danger, thereby protecting them in the only way she knows.

We embark on a wild ride with Lara as she goes solo along the uncertain path and even though she doesn't know what the future holds, yet she does what is necessary.

But little does she know that the Apex tactical family never abandons their own. Also when Crew and Wilder realise their mistake, they take it upon themselves to accompany her along her quest.

Some of the twists in this one had me downright quaking in fear as I didn't know how Lara could save herself.
The way the story is written keeps you guessing and adds all the more mystery as the premonition is realised by Crew and Wilder and they have to race against time if they want their Lara to be saved.

This one also gives us the reluctance of Crew and Wilder as they are unable to fight their attraction for Lara but absolutely must.

My heart felt full seeing the entire Apex Tactical family with Zig, Oz, Salem, Avery, Astrid, Greg and everyone.

I loved how Greg treats Lara as if she's his own and that made me have tears in my eyes.

There's a lot happening in this one as not everyone is aware of Lara hiding a secret as she is one of the people with special abilities just like the children saved, but she's different and nobody knows about it.

This one was bittersweet as certain turns will not only leave you shocked but also heartbroken but rest assured everything works out perfectly by the end.
But also be ready to feel lots of Emotional highs and lows that will make this ride as Intense as it will keep you on your toes, waiting at the edge of your seat, wide-eyed not knowing what will happen next.

Ahhh... I'm so going to miss these series and these characters that are going to stay with me. Absolutely loved loved this one.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Look, I wasn’t going to hate on this too much, but then I remembered the author’s note at the beginning:

“For Bree, Your attention to detail amazes me every time. I’m over here forgetting everything from my characters' names to their hair color. Meanwhile, you remember which characters ordered Dr Pepper three books ago. We are not the same. There isn’t a chance in hell I could pull this off without you. So thank you for everything you do, my anally attentive friend.”

Well, Bree clearly did not proofread this book because the number of mistakes—like switching names around, the lack of character descriptions, and grammar issues—is absolutely insane.

For example, there’s a scene toward the end where Avery is being held hostage, but in the middle of the scene, it suddenly says Astrid has a gun pointed at her temple (Astrid isn’t even in the same room, she’s down in the bunker with the kids). Then, a sentence later, it’s back to Avery again.

And the lack of descriptions for the three main characters is just wild. Here’s what I know:

- Wilder and Crew? They have six-packs.
- Lara? She has slightly curly hair and boobs that are the “perfect handful.”

That’s it. No hair color, no eye color. Do they have scars? Freckles? Tattoos? Piercings? What about their facial features? Body types beyond the six-packs and boobs? Do the guys have beards? I was basically imagining stick figures the entire time—two of them with six-packs and one of them with boobs that are, apparently, just right.

Also, I’m pretty sure (not 100%, but close) that in one of the earlier books, it’s mentioned Greg had a 15-year-old daughter who died, which is why he’s so protective of all the FMC's in this series. But in this book, it says he was “never blessed enough to have children”???

Then there’s the inconsistency with the phones. I’m fairly certain that in book 3, it’s established that they can now track their phones even if they’re off—and the reason for this is because of how they couldn't track Oz and Zig when they were stuck in the jungle and their phones died. So basically they upgraded the gps in their phones so they could track each other at all times, even when the phone is off. But in this book, they say this: “It’s not on. But if she took it, then she has to know we can track it. I’ll keep trying. As soon as she turns it on, I’ll find her.”

So yeah, this book was a mess.

What a great finish for this wild ride of a series.

3.5 stars out of 4. I rounded up.

Lethal touch was definitely better than the first but for me, this whole series was just missing that special touch I usually find in Candice’s writing.

The ending felt abrupt and a lot of the tension between characters felt too much like a rinse and repeat from previous books.

Also, Candice is known for writing underestimated badass female leads. To me, Lara didn’t give me the same vibe. She was strong, no doubt, but I was expecting a lot more badassery.

The spice. I’ve officially taken Candice off of my spicy author list. This series, the last few books in her underestimated series, and a few of her stand-alone books just aren’t the hell fire hot spice from the first few books in the underestimated series, which is the series that made me fall in love with her writing to begin with. I’ve realized that as far as romance and spice go, those few books were a one time hit.

The romance takes a backseat to the plot and drama. There should be a better balance or she should just move away from romance all together. I didn’t even feel a connection between the main characters. I actually felt more of a connection between her and Nash even though they had only a few interactions. Those few moments felt deeper than the interactions between her and her two men throughout the entire book. Hell even the connection between her and OZ was deeper feeling and obviously it’s only a brother/sister relationship since he’s with Salem.

There are three spicy scenes and the first starts at around 60%. They are quick and not very descriptive. Ironically, one MC says he’s thankful they are going to be her first so she has a good experience instead of a backseat wham-bam-thank you mam… and then that’s exactly what they give her, minus the backseat. It starts and is over in a blink of an eye. It was a total let down. The whole point of ménage/reverse harem reads are for the amazing sex, strong relationship, and great plot. We get a great plot but that’s it.

I enjoyed this series for the plot and cool twists, but I definitely don’t recommend it for romance, love, or spice.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

This is the story of Lara, Wilder and Crew. I guess I should also tell you that this is the last book in this series. That really made me sad because I have loved every second I have spent with these characters. I loved Lara. She is really going to steal your heart and her talking on the role of mother when she is raised in a really twisted way was an amazing thing to witness. She took care of little kids all the time and she herself in the same situation. Her heart was wide open and this woman needs to be a mother. After all when all this was happening she was around the same age as the children she was looking after. She is one strong woman. Courageous is the word that comes to mind when I think about her. She is going to protect her newfound family with everything in her and I loved that about her. However there is danger that is bad and terrifying because it is just not her that is involved in the danger. However, she is always willing to throw herself in front of a bullet if she has to. She has been a protector for so long it is all she knows. However, she might start out on her own but she doesn't know that the Apex Tactical Family never leaves one of their own behind. She also has Crew and Wilder. There are twist and turns and I promise you are going to be on the edge of your seat and probably a nervous wreck. I was truly in fear for Lara. But we can't count out Crew and Wilder. Can they get what they set out to do done. I loved this book. I am seriously sad to see this series end. But I am so looking forward to see what we get from this author next. I will for sure be reading it.

I have so been looking forward to Wilder and Crews story and it did not disappoint!

The Lethal Touch picks up right where the wicked sting finished - with the revelation that Lara is Penny Travis daughter and sisters with Salem.

This big reveal straight away sends the group into chaos - it seems the boys are all destined to repeat eachothers mistakes! Not knowing Lara's history with her father they immediately question her motives for being at Apex.

I love Lara's quiet strength throughout the book - while she may be vulnerable and not have much experience out in the world, she is smart, brave, and would do absolutely anything to protect the kids and her new family.

As both Wilder and Crew learn more about her and realise just how much she has been through we can see them falling for her more and more.

The action really kicks off in the 2nd half, with the all the main playes, including some you aren't expecting, coming together. This has been building over the course of the series and seeing it come to an end is bittersweet. I hate saying goodbye to the characters but the way Candice brings their story to a close is as exciting as it is heartwarming.

Over all really enjoyed the Apex series and The lethal touch in particular ☺️

Apex 🖤

The men of Apex have a way of getting on my last nerve before they make me fall for them. Lara is a strong FMC who has every reason to be weak. She has spent her life in a cage being deemed a dud. Used by the very people who should have protected her. All the while hiding just how amazing she truly is. She is loving and protective of the kids in her care. Nothing means more to her than their protection. So when the men of APEX find out who her father is they aren't sure if they can trust her even though she has given them every reason too. They seem bound and determined to repeat their mistakes. Hurt by how quickly their opinion of her turns she sticks it out knowing they're still the best option to protect the kids she has practically raised. When her past comes calling she and the men and women of Apex have to band together to overcome their common enemy. Lara is everything I've come to expect from a Candice Wright FMC! She is strong and brave even when the world has given her every reason not to be. This book is not a stand-alone and you will definitely want to read the first three.

"The Lethal Touch" by Candice Wright is the emotional rollercoaster finale we didn't know we needed. This book took me on a journey that had me laughing, crying, and leaving screaming voice messages for my besties! Lara, Crew, and Wilder's story is a slow burn age gap romance that pulled on every single emotion!

Lara, on the brink of turning 18, is a powerhouse of strength, nurturing her "Lost Ones" found family with unwavering love. She's been caretaker to special kiddos for most of her life, and her fierce loyalty, love, and courage shine through every page.

Candice Wright delivers twists, turns, suspense, and mysticism that kept me hooked. The chemistry between Lara, Crew, and Wilder is off the charts, developing beautifully as the story progresses. The emotional intensity and the heartbreaking decisions Lara has to make had me sobbing—I'm not usually a book crier, but this one kind of broke me. lol

Lara humbles and teaches Crew and Wilder is over and over and over until they get it. This book is a page-turner that you won't be able to put down. If you love intense, emotional reads with a touch of mysticism and a lot of heart, "The Lethal Touch" is a must-read.

Great Ending to an Amazing Series

This book was probably my favorite of the series. I love Lara so much! Crew and Wilder got their stuff together a lot sooner than the others in the past books which made me happy. The kids melted my heart, and I do hope we get a little series with them in the future. Oz and Zig really came a long way, and I loved that we got to see the fun sweet side of them.

Lara has been so sheltered, degraded, and treated as an afterthought for her whole life. The strength and resilience she has is amazing. The kids that she raised are her whole world, and she will die to protect them. She may be young in age, but she is wise and her maturity is better than most of the adults. Crew really pushed my buttons, like most of the MMC did in this series, but Wilder definitely kept it together for them. The ending broke my heart a little, but I know this isn’t the end for some of these characters! I’m so happy this trio found their way to happy ever after, and I love that all these characters have found their true family! It’s sad when a series ends, but I know we will have plenty more to read in the future!

A FIVE STAR READ…. DON’T MISS OUT!!
Candice Wright once again thrusts us into the world of Apex Tactical. Lara finds herself smack dab in the middle of the war between Apex and the Division. Lara flees with the children she calls the “Lost Ones.” She plays mother to those children, and they refer to her as their Wendy from their favorite story, Peter Pan. After Lara and the kids are brought back to Apex with Avery and Lara’s parentage is revealed, Wilder and Crew have a hard time believing whose side Lara is on or if she comes as an ally or an enemy.
Lara has had nothing but disappointment her entire life, and after being shunned by her sister, she can’t take any more humiliation and retreats to think about her next moves.
Candice takes on a journey with many twists and turns and old grudges make it hard for certain people to see what is right in front of them. I absolutely loved this book and wish I could recommend more than 5 stars. I laughed, I cried, I screamed, I cursed Candice’s name, and praised it at the same time. It’s a page-turner that can’t be put down.

CODENAME: RANA Apex Tactical Book 4
by Candice Wright
✩✩✩✩

MFM Mènage • Age Gap • Forced Proximity • Found Family • Romantic Suspense • Strong FMC

The final book The Lethal Touch picks up after Lana and The Lost Ones were rescued by the Apex Team at the end of The Wicked Sting.

Lana was not reliant on someone to save her when she could do that all on her own making her a notable and strong FMC. Having lived her whole life locked away she finally gets to have all the things she never had with Crew and Wilder as well as the rest of the team. However things don’t start out well for her and her guys when her secret is revealed and it has them questioning her loyalty reliving the other men’s past mistakes.

It’s sad that the series is over and we came full circle with this cast of characters. There was some unexpected losses in the group. I really enjoyed that the found family really extends to the entire team that are apart of each of the books in the series. There is some spice but more plot driven in my opinion.

Candice Wright truly can do no wrong. This is the final book in the Apex Tactical series. I am so sad that it is over but man what an amazing ride it has been. The fmc Lara had been considered a disappointment all her life. But she is silently strong, stands firm in her beliefs and is tired of it all. She helps the children around her and when she escapes her terrible life, she takes them with her. She would do absolutely anything to save her lost ones. I have been waiting to see how Crews and Wilder's story would play out. And I was not disappointed. There are several twists and revelations that cause them to doubt just which side Lara stands for. But this was the final showdown between the Division and Apex. Some surprising characters join the fight too which was honestly amazing. This book has so much action and spice. It is a menage romance with such a good story! I am so glad I read the entire series and I look forward to the next project that Candice reveals.

The Lethal Touch is the fourth book in the Apex Tactical series, and picks up right where The Wicked Sting leaves off. So much happens in this one, and I loved the dynamic. Somehow this author makes tropes that sometimes just won't work for me, be okay. Lara is only seventeen at the start, just days away from her eighteenth birthday and Crew and Wilder are much older. I love age gap, but usually like my heroines to be at least eighteen at the start, however here it really worked for me. Lara has never been allowed to just be a child and has lived a very hard and isolated life and seems to much older than anyone else her age. Crew, Wilder and Lara have chemistry and attraction right from the start and I loved their dynamic with each other. I'm really enjoying this series and loved the plot that has wrapped around throughout all the books. I can't wait to see now what this author will do next!

A non-stop action adventure… and not just in the bedroom 😝

There is one thing you can always count on when you read a book by Candice, and that is the fact you are going to be hooked on page one.

In this fourth book in her Apex series, we get more swoony, protective men who don’t always think before they speak, and a woman who needs to look beyond their mistakes and see who they really are. And a bunch of intrigue, action and everything else we love about Candice’s storytelling especially in this world.

This is a MFM story and I simply loved it. It was a perfect addition to my month. Let’s face it, if Candice writes it, I’m going to read it. This again in book 4 in this series, and where you don’t “have” to start at the beginning, I highly suggest that you do! These men are too good to miss out on!

The Lethal Touch was a page-turning finale to an incredible series! Lara, Crew, and Wilder were much more than I expected. An age gap forced the men to stay under strict control until time resolved the issue for them. Lara was such a strong character, wise beyond her years. She nurtured the souls of those around her and taught Crew and Wilder lessons that they should have learned in their battle-worn years. My heart wept for Lara's choices to protect those dear to her. For one so young, she exemplified what we all hope to achieve. She humbled Crew and Wilder on more than one occasion. First love is formidable when the foundation is laid by hearts willing to stand the tests of time. Crew and Wilder were gone for Lara when they first saw her, which didn't change in the face of the challenges between the trio. Lara blossomed when she stood on her own two feet, showing the Apex family just how much she loved them all despite having just met them. After all, family is everything, whether blood or found, and true love can be everlasting.

This series has been so unique from start to finish and I have really enjoyed reading it. It is not something I typically would have picked up, but I’m a huge fan of this author’s work so I gave it a go and I’m glad I did.

This series finale is Lara’s story and I’m so happy all of the previous characters came together to wrap things up for her. I love how they all help her in different ways to experience things in life that she hasn’t gotten to enjoy thanks to her father. Of course, with her dad still lurking about, things still go off course for her and her relationship with Crew and Wilder, all leading to an exciting end!

If you’re looking for spice, this is very light in that department, but the storyline will definitely keep you entertained. This book was a great way to end the series!

The Lethal Touch is the fourth book of the Apex Tactical series of interconnected standalones. This is one of those books that once you start you won’t be able to put down! And I expect no less from Candice! She is my favorite author for a reason! This one is nonstop action with a strong FMC that will sacrifice herself to save those she loves. Lara might only be eighteen but she has had to grow up fast and doesn’t act like a typical teenager. When she comes to Apex things don’t go as planned but she doesn’t give up. Crew and Wilder are like the other men at Apex and are protective and possessive of their girl. This book had me in all my feels and I even shed a few tears. Definitely one of my favorites of the series!

The Lethal Touch is the final book in this series and it was one hell of a way to bow out of it. To me this book was filled with much more feels than the others.

Lara (FMC) was such a strong character which she'd had to be with the way she'd grown up but in that regard it also made her empathetic towards not only those in her care but people in general. Which i loved about her. Yes there was an age gap between Lara & the guys - Wilder and Crew but because Lara came across as more mature than her years (which she's had to be) their dynamic read differently for me. It was handled respectfully I thought.

Dark in places, plenty of fast paced action and brilliant plot twists all mixed together to make for a cracking conclusion. I loved reading every book in this series so much!!

Incredible!!
I did not want to put this book down once I started!!
Some truths are revealed and a few twists throughout. We got suspense, action, and spice. For me it was also emtional at times. There was pain and sadness, but then there was also healing and hope.

I loved Lara. She was a survivor and a fighter. She had a huge heart, she had courage and inner strength.
At times my heart broke for her. Other times I was so proud of her, because of how much she grew.
Crew and Wilder may have frustrated me at times, but there was no doubt in my mind I'd love them too.
I think the author does a fantastic job with the ending!
Lara and her men got their happy ending, but so many others did too!!
I loved it!!

Oh the feels.

Candice Wright, never fails to amaze me how she can pull you into a book so strong. This book had me wanting to punch a few of MCs at moments, and whipping my eyes at others.

Lara might be young but this woman empowers the strength of those around her. She has taken care of the lost children being their ‘Wendy’ when the world had abandoned them. What she was missing though was the protective, swoon worthy hotness that is Wilder and Crew.

This MFM hit all the right feels for me. If you have not started the Apex Tactical series, this is the 4th book. I highly recommend it and hope you love it just as much.

4.5 stars Time for the finale

Boy, those Apex dudes will never learn and still I am here for it.

Crew, Wilder and Lara were the last pairing and their story was no walk in the park. Picking up right after the revelation from book 3, everybody is scrambling to move forward but suspicions run high especially towards my dear Lara.

After all she went through at the hand of her father, you would think that our FMC would be hard and bitter.

But what she really was was resilient, loving and so endearing. I felt for her and her Lost Ones. Crew and Wilder may not have deserved her but they made up for it and I enjoyed their relationship.

Action and betrayal, laughter and heartbreak, this final book had it all. I’ll be missing those guys but the Apex world is one I’ll gladly dive back into in the future. Great story !

The Lethal Touch: CODENAME Rana by Candice Wright was amazing. I love all books by Candice Wright so much and this one was definitely a favorite. I loved Wilder and Crew. They were imperfectly perfect. They were sweet, caring, and so protective. Lara was amazing. I loved her personality and her strength. The story was so good and full of action. I loved seeing all the other characters again. The writing was perfect and so addicting. The ending was beautiful and I cannot wait to see what Candice Wright writes next!

Another Stunner from Candice Wright!!!

Everything she writes is just absolute perfection!!! Is it just me, or do these Apex boys never learn? I swear to gods, E and Greg are the only ones with brains in their heads. Every single relationship gets messed up because the guys have their heads where the Sun don’t shine and our boys Crew and Wilder are no different. Our boys were flirty and cute until they found out what her lineage was, then it was a complete 180°. This just proved that my heart really does belong to Greg. He’s such a good Papa Bear! 😍 We have the usual Candice specialties… twists and turns and epic fights. It was a fantastic conclusion for APEX! 💜

A great finish!

I’ve loved this series from the start. While not as twisty and action packed as the others in the series, this book does such a great job of tying up the loose ends in the series story line. Lara was introduced at the end of book 3 and debuts in this book on a journey to protect the kids and take the big bad man down, while concealing a gift she has kept quiet about. Along the way she earns the love and support from Hawk and Crew. Ugh. I loved this series. I wish it wasn’t done. Candice has done it again and fully entrapped me into an epic story and main characters I just love.

as always perfection from Candice Wright

This book was so good and delivered everything I have come to expect in a book from this author. It’s got some twists and turns and drew me in instantly. After everything that happened in book three I was in desperate need of this book. Lara meeting her guys and then having them mess things up and then try to fix it was a running theme with each of the books and I loved that that was a running theme. It’s alpha male issues 🤣. The conclusion of this book could not have been more perfect. And I am super happy that Lara was strong independent FMC.
This book definitely hit me in the feels a few times and kept me up past my bedtime.

I’m still reading. But I’m 45% in and (unless I completely missed it) I have no idea what Lara, Wilder or Crew even look like. No hair color, height, anything. I can’t tell any difference between Wilder or Crew’s POVs. Their personalities are the exact same. This is a maaaajor pet peeve of mine. Sorta unusual for this author and disappointing because I’ve been waiting on pins and needles for this book. That’s all for now… time to finish reading. Maybe once there’s some spicy scenes we will get some physical descriptions? But it might be too little too late?

Yet another amazing book by Candice Wright, and amazing finale to the Apex Tactical series!

The book starts right where book three ended, with Lara getting herself entangled with Crew and Wilder… who soon discover that Lara is only 17. She is also the daughter of the villain, and so they struggle with trusting her. This helps put time and distance between them, until such a time as she turns 18, and they can reconcile that she is just as disgusted with him as the Apex crew are.

This book is a quick read for its length, and takes you on a wild ride! I was sad to see this series end, but also happy to see loose ends tied up.
