“Baby girl, if you think I’ll let you walk out that door when I just got you back, you are sadly mistaken.”
Lyra left her hometown almost forty years ago and never looked back. It’s time to return to Shadowridge, clean out her parents’ rental, and put it up for sale. But coming home brings back memories of her first love, the man who rocked her world for one night—a man she never saw again after that summer.
Rock has been with the Shadowridge Guardians for his entire adult life. His first love left town, taking his heart with her. He lost his second love, his wife, to cancer several years ago. Rock considers himself too old to risk love a third time, but then he learns Lyra is back in town…
After four decades, he can’t stop thinking of her. He needs to know why she left. He needs to look her in the eyes. But what if confronting her doesn’t purge her from his system?

I really liked Rock. I vaguely remembered him. It was so refreshing to have a more mature point of view, even from our h. She isn’t some airhead and really knows what she wants.
I can't believe this series is over. I've loved following each of the Shadowridge Guardians as they found their forever person, but Rock was something else entirely. I didn’t expect much going in — Rock was the oldest member, and he'd already had a great love, tragically cut short. But Becca Jameson saved the most beautiful and heart-wrenching story for last.
This is not just a second chance romance — it’s a soul-deep reconnection after 38 years apart. Rock and Lyla only shared six hours in their youth, but it was enough to leave a lifelong imprint. Now, with Lyla returning to sell her parents’ home, fate brings them full circle.
There’s no slow burn, no angst-driven push-pull. Just love — pure, powerful, and undiminished by time. Every moment between them feels sacred. I cried, I smiled, I felt it all.
This book hurts in the best way. It makes you wonder about missed chances, about fate, and about whether love really does conquer all. And Becca Jameson answers that with a resounding yes. Rock’s story is the perfect finale: raw, real, and deeply romantic. He deserved this ending. He deserved Lyla. And they deserved their forever.
A wonderful read, Rock and Lyla have not seen each other for four decades a real love story I have to say that this was a truly wonderful love story, Rock and Lyla had known each other when he was twenty and she was eighteen years of age and they had spent one extremely wonderful night together a memory that stayed with them both over the years. Lyla has returned to Shadowridge to deal with the sale of her family home and since she has arrived in the town she has constantly thought of Rock, is he still in the town, is he married, and will he remember her she could never have expected what happened at the house. A knock at the door and Lyla answers and is forced to the back of the room where she is then smashed against the wall as he screams at her about some lost package, she has no idea who he is or what he wants and fears he is going to hurt her. A shout at the door and it is as though time itself has been turned back by over forty years and she realises that the voice is from her first love “Rock” he has come to her rescue and it is as though time has stopped and moving back in time. This is a wonderful love story and the coming together of this simply wonderful pair is so sweet a Daddy and his Little Girl, his very first love and hers and now that they are both alone forty years later and their love has a second chance. The Shadowridge Guardians are so pleased to see the love that has rekindled between Rock and Lyla and as they get closer. She is his Little Girl and is finding her again and the love that is between them is instant and they enjoy every moment together. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the wonderful writing.
What a cute read by Becca Jameson in her new book "Rock." Starts off with the Rock: Prequel which I devoured. It was such a a cute fast paced read. We first meet Rock and read about both Rock and Lylas feelings when they are young. When Lyla was brave and admits how she has felt about Rock since she met him and how Rock has desired her and was there for her. A sweet beginning. Continueing into "Rock" it is almost forty years later from the prequel when Rock was 20 and Lyla was 18 years old. She never came back for life got in the way with her father being transferred for work and her mother's health. She came back to help her parents sell the house. When Rock heard she was back in town he was shocked. With all the time has passed Rock was married, his wife passed to young, and he has 2 kids. He was wondering about Lyla is she was married with children. He always remembered there special night. With fixing up the house to sell for her parents kept bring back memories for Lyla. She kept thinking about Rock and the fact she was married but is now divorced after not being able to get pregnant and believing her marriage ended for she still had feelings for another man. When they saw each other Lyla was being attacked. Rock came to her rescue. It was like no time has passed even though they continued with there lives. I highly recommend this book, it was really good and sweet. Drawn in from the very beginning.
I was given an advance reader copy of this book for my honest review.
1.5/5⭐️ This book had some really sweet moments and the potential to be great, but it just didn’t quite get there for me.
The timeline felt rushed and a little messy, with their relationship progressing quickly but without enough context and substance. I understand they were each other’s first love and that “that night” was a big focus, but after nearly 40 years apart, they suddenly jump back together with no real emotional reconnection and rekindling, just sex.
I also didn’t love the way they reflected on their 38 years apart. They often compared the love they have for each other to what they had with their spouses. She never seemed truly invested in her marriage, and although he loved his wife, it still didn’t seem like enough for him to stop thinking about Lyla.
The reason they lost contact was also underwhelming. After so many unnecessary details elsewhere in the book, the explanation felt short and, frankly, stupid.
While the nickname “Little Lyla” was overused, I did appreciate that he didn’t push her into age play (though she eventually comes around to it). His willingness to give up that dynamic entirely because of how much he loves her was sweet.
I also liked the “before” and “current” timeline approach (loved that they were much older), but the story lacked emotional connection and relied too heavily on sex. It also didn’t really read as an age play book overall.
It had the potential to be something really special — it just didn’t quite land for me.
Rock, the newest addition to the Shadowridge Guardians series, proves that it’s never too late to find love and your happily ever after. As someone older, I really appreciate that Becca Jameson wrote a romance featuring mature characters. It’s so important to show that love and romance are for everyone, no matter their age.
Rock and Lyla first met as teenagers but, because of misunderstandings, didn’t find their happy ending until years later. Watching them reconnect and learn who they’ve become after so many life experiences was heartwarming. This story also explores a unique perspective on being a Little, showing that Littles are diverse, and there’s no one "right" way to experience this dynamic.
As always, Ms. Jameson adds a touch of mystery to the story, creating drama that keeps things exciting. I also loved revisiting other Guardians and their Littles—it’s always fun to catch up with characters I’ve grown to care about.
This book is a great addition to the series, and I’m excited to see more characters find their own happy endings!
Wow. What a finish to the Shadowridge Guardians MC series. Rock is everything i hoped it would be and more. Lyla has come back to Shadowridge after 38 years away. She wants to get in and out with as little fuss as possible. Her memories of when she left are precious and she doesn't want to tarnish them. Rock was her hidden crush, bar one night when her life was changed forever. To much time has now passed. Things will never be the same again. Rock has lived his life. He's had his family and he has no regrets, except one. What happened to Lyla. She left and he never heard from her again. He eventually moved past that. But he's heard she back, stiring up old feelings. Can he risk finding out the truth. I love these characters. The story is beautifully detailed and lovingly written. Rock had been a steadfast in this series and it's joyous he now has his story. I highly recommend this book, series, and author.
I was sad reading this book because it was the last one in the series. (I wish it was not HINT HINT LADIES) But i was so happy that Rock found love again. I have loved this character all through this series. I even picture him as a younger Piney form SOA (IYKYK) I really loved the fact his Little was a long lost love. Their story is almost fairytaleish in a way finding one another again after 38 years. Still being as infatuated with one another. What I loved best was how that now as they were older and more mature that they also had more mature conversations. Lyla knows that Rock like certain things and even though she worries she cannot fully be a Little he tells her he understands that and would love her anyway. They find their own path and it is perfect. I hope you will read this series and enjoy it like I have. It was really a great set of books and I am so glad I read them.
I'm not sure if this is the last of the series, but this book feels like it. A much older Rock and his first love, Lyla, are reunited after 38 years, and even though you're sad for them, there are no lifetime regret feelings from them or the reader of what could've been. You realize that things happen for a reason, and Rock's dead wife and children were meant to be because Lyla couldn't have children, and she had spent the last thirty years teaching her students with no regrets. Like I said, this feels like a nice, comforting, sweet, and happy ending, and there's hope for all of us. 😊 PS- I wish we found out what the newer bear's name was?
This is the final book in the Shadowridge Guardians and although it's the end of a series it is definitely standalone with a HEA, so feel free to read it on it's own.
Rock has been a side character in a few of the other stories and until now we never really got much of his story. I loved that Rock gets his own closure, coming from the return of a former love. I appreciate how this story is very much from a more mature point of view - both of these characters have lived a life and have found each other again. This isn't my favourite in the series, but there is a lot to love with Rock and Lyla.
Gah!! I've been excited to get Rock's story since book one...and I was not disappointed, it was worth the wait. And what a way to end the series. 💜🩵
I really enjoyed how Becca balanced them being older adults with the lifestyle. The fact that Lyla didn't just dive into living Little was also something I appreciated.
It very much felt like a real-life possible second chance romance...I couldn't help but cheer them on.
Also, the prequel really helped set the stage and my mindset for their story and their HEA.
I am sad to see the end of the Shadowridge Guardians. All 3 authors have a similar style so the stories flowed smoothly together in the series. It was nice to see Rock get his happy ending. There wasn't much of a back-story for what happened to Lyla for decades before reuniting with Rock. You learned a little about Rock's previous heart attack in a previous book but not much was mentioned. It didn't really matter for the plot ,though.Good book and I'm sure the Guardians aren't totally finished.Looking forward to the next series.
What a way to end a series . I loved Rock in all the books and so happy he got his story and what a awesome story it was with his first love Lyla. Lyla left shadow ridge as a teen due to a misunderstanding . Rock waited hoping she would come back she never did so he met and married his wife who was his second love of his life and gave him 2 kids and she died of cancer ... years later Lyla comes back to sell her parents house and circumstances bring her and rock together again and a second chance of love ..
This was the best story ever. I was so emotionally attached and finished it too fast. Rock has loved Lyla forever. It was so romantic how their love began. I was so distraught when they grew apart and didn't want to hear it. But if it didn't happen there wouldn't have been a Remi or Atlas and that would have been tragic. I love how fate brought them together and their love continued to grow. This was definitely a steamy page turning story.
Lyra left town, and Rock, 40 years ago. Even though Rock never forgot her, he did find love only to lose his wife to cancer. Now Lyra has come back to clean out her parents house. Watching these two get a second chance at love was wonderful and refreshing!!! I love seeing mature couples in stories. This was a wonderful ending to this series and now I think I'm going to have to go back and read them all again!
Rating 4 CW: Mild Age Play, Domestic Discipline, physical Assault, infertility, spousal death, and mention of drug use by a side character.
This is the last book in the Shadowridge Guardains series. It is a lost love/second chance romance. The MMC & the FMC are both over 50. There are spicy scenes throughout the book.
Wow. What an end to a beautiful sexy series. Lyla returned to town to sell her parents old home. She was a little nervous coming into town because of seeing Rock again and to bring up all those past memories. Rock was feeling tbd same way. You will enjoy reading how they got back together and how everything worked out for them. Enjoy.
I absolutely loved Rock and Lyla. This was a story that was exciting and so wonderful from Page 1 to the last page. Rock and Lyla lived in hopes of being with each other. So incredibly heartwarming and definitely shows that love lasts!
Omg I absolutely loved Rock and Lyla!! They’re so precious together! I know many years passed between them but I’m so happy that will have their hea!! They needed the time apart to appreciate what they have together!! I’m extremely sad that the Shadow Guardians series is over but they were all amazing stories and a wonderful world!!!
Who doesn't have a past love that would show up again and still love you
I liked that they were both older and experienced life. Lyla was so strong. She wanted ROCK( who wouldn't?) but knew her soul and didn't compromise. Rock had lost his wife but also had two kids who he loved and Lyla grew to love them
THIS BOOK WAS MY FAVORITE OF THIS SERIES. ROCK GETS TO HAVE HIS FIRST LOVE BACK IN HIS LIFE!!!!!. WAS AMAZING THE WAY THEY CONNECTED WITH EACH LIKE THEY NEVER LOST EACH OTHER. I WAS HAPPY WITH THE LAST BOOK IN THIS SERIES BUT WISH IT DIDN'T HAVE TO END. THANK YOU FOR WRITING SUCH AN ABSOLUTELY AMAZING SERIES!!!!! 📚✨🔥💞✨🔥✨🔥✨🔥✨🔥✨🔥✨📚
I first read the Rock prequel in the Dirty Daddies 2023 Anniversary Anthology and I could not wait for Rock and Lyla's full story. I was definitely not disappointed! This is my favorite story in this series. Their story was emotional and so good.
Story 3.75⭐️ Spice 2.5🌶️ I’m glad that Rock’s story made the series. A later in life story is just what I needed to say goodbye to the Guardians. Sad to see this series end, but happy not to spend $5 on a 200 page book anymore.
Rock knew Layla was the love of his life but after she left for College it took her 38 Years to come back. The Love that both of them felt in their youth was still as strong as today!
I always 1 click anything that Becca Jameson writes. Usually, I don't even bother to read the blurb. This DD/lg love story is so sweet. I love Rocks notebook tattoo, such a romantic thing to do.
The love these two had for each other, even after such a long time apart, was truly incredible. They both lived separate lives for almost 40yrs before they got their second chance with each other. I was tearing up when Rock's kids met Lyla and how much they accepted her into the family.🥹
Another Daddy Dom meets his Little girl. Rock and Lyla haven't seen each other for 38 years but their connection is still there. Sweet and a nice wrap up of the series.
Holy rocket launcher into space. This has got to be my favorite of all the stories. It is so relatable as an older fan of the series. I don't think I am super little, but I appreciate it as a private place!
This is the best one yet! Why? Because it shows that love is possible even in the last half of life. Rock and Lyla went their separate ways after high school, lost touch and found each other 38 yrs later. Fairy tale for sure but realistic. Happy endings abound.
