“Dollface, you keep challenging me like that and I’m gonna have to do something about it.”

Ella is ready for a fresh start, far from the chaos of the big city. She loves the quiet charm of Shadowridge, her new job, and the chance to make a real difference. And when she meets King—the irresistibly hot, tattooed firefighter—life finally feels like it’s falling into place. Until jealousy threatens to tear it all apart.

King has everything he needs, but meeting Ella changes everything. She’s the one he’s been waiting for, and now that she’s his, he’ll do whatever it takes to keep her. But his past refuses to stay where it belongs. In the past. He won’t let it destroy what they have, though. He’ll fight for Ella—no matter what.

So freakin cute! Ugh, King and Ella were so cuddly together.
I also really loved her occasional brattiness, and the way it really amused King.

The ninth installment of the Shadowridge Guardians MC series brings readers another heartfelt romance, centering on King—a dedicated firefighter, respected MC member, and a man longing for his forever Little. Having watched his brothers find love, he remains patient, questioning if the right person will come along.
Ella, a New York City native, is ready for a fresh start away from the chaos of urban life. Shadowridge offers the close-knit community she’s been searching for, and her job as the Mayor’s assistant brings her into frequent contact with local residents—including King. Their connection is immediate, natural, and deeply fulfilling.
This novel stands out for its warmth, simplicity, and well-paced character development. Unlike many romance novels in the genre, it doesn’t rely on past trauma or intense external conflicts to drive the story. Instead, the focus remains on the genuine, slow-building connection between King and Ella, with the only real obstacle being an ex-girlfriend determined to stir up trouble.
As a longtime fan of the series and Kate Oliver’s writing, I had high expectations for this book—and it did not disappoint. While a quick read, it delivers a satisfying, well-rounded love story that blends the rugged loyalty of the MC world with the tender, nurturing themes of a Daddy Dom/Little relationship.
Highly recommended for readers who enjoy MC romances with a softer, heartfelt touch.

Another great Shadowridge book!

Loved this addition to one of my favorite series!! I’ve been waiting for King to get his book, and Kate Oliver knocked it out of the park. King & Ella are so good together. I love that her parents are so cool & that she fits in so well with everyone. The fact that the old “girlfriend” got hers was just icing on the cake. Thank you Kate for giving us another Guardian to love!

This book is super sweet and wholesome. I love the insta connection. Ella is amazing, I love the healing in this book with family. The spice was great and King of course was a perfect mc.

If you want super sweet romance, pick this one up!

I love King & Ella! He’s truly so sweet and such a good daddy. She’s adorable and I love how well she fits him. These MC daddies are so delightful to watch as each one falls for their Little. Kate’s books are always a safe bet for comfort, giggles, and a love fest of a good time. Another favourite read from her!

This story was perfect. King was the best over protective daddy and the sweetest. Ella was a brave girl who moved to a new town to get the life she wanted and she did. They are perfect together. Also the spice was nice.

Fantastic addition to the series! I cried so hard when there was a misunderstanding between King and Ella, and Ella's mom made me giggle. But my favorite part is when the villain of the story gets their comeuppance. It's well deserved.

I read a beta copy of this book.

It’s not bad, but could be better.

I’ve read all the other books in the series. Maybe it’s just me, but I’m getting bored of them. I feel like I may be judging them a little too harshly, as the series goes on. So, please take my review with a grain of salt.

It’s a pretty standard book. She’s the new, Little rich girl that got tired of the big city and moved to small town Shadowridge. He’s born and raised in Shadowridge and a firefighter. His family is there. So there he’s stayed.

King invites Ella to the clubhouse for a barbecue. Okay, great. She shows up dressed in Little girl clothing and carrying a bowl full of mixed candy that she called a “candy salad”.

Not once before this has she told King she’s a Little, nor has he talked to her about the DDlg thing. He never mentioned to her, when he asked her to the clubhouse, that the other women were Littles and the men Daddies. She just showed up as a Little and then noticed the other women were dressed like her.

Ella does overhear a couple of the girls call their men “daddy”, but her and King barely have a conversation about it, even though she’s extremely curious about it all.

She didn’t even know it was a real dynamic until the barbecue. She knew she was a Little, but thought the whole DD/lg dynamic was only in books. King doesn’t take the time to talk to her about it. It was well after the halfway point before they even had a conversation about the dynamic, his rules, and how the dynamic would work in their relationship.

Another thing that irritated me was how Ella was treated during the barbecue. In pretty much every other previous book, the women have welcomed the new girl with open arms the first time she’s at the clubhouse. Remi said “hi” to her and the rest pretty much ignored her and did their own things. The bowl of concentrated sugar she brought was never mentioned by anyone other than King and Ella. By bringing that, she should have instantly been the other girls’ best friend. Crickets.

They did add her to their group chat and bring her into their group, but that first barbecue it was like she, or they, didn’t exist in the same realm.

Also, he has an ex that has popped back up, for seemingly no reason. Why? What is the point of her? She’s been out of the picture for a year and she randomly pops up when he gets close to the FMC? She didn’t add anything to the storyline. If her entire subplot were to be removed, nothing would have been lost. It was wholly unnecessary.

They had sex once. So if you’re looking for a really spicy read, this isn’t it. To me, it was like the author had to have one sex scene in the book, so she threw it in. It felt like it was the best place to shoehorn in the scene, so might as well.

I don’t hate this book. It’s flawed, to me, but it’s still a halfway decent story. I generally really like this author. I’ve read several of her other works and enjoyed them. For some reason, with this series, it’s just not something I’ll reread time and time again. I can say I’ve read it, but that’s about it.

Maybe it’s because this series isn’t solely hers. That makes the series as a whole feel a bit disjointed at times. If it had been either fully hers, or all the books written together, it might have been the difference. Instead, it said to just didn’t feel like the same series

Read it if you like, or don’t. It’s fine for what it is. Personally, I may not pick it up again for a long while. That’s okay. All our tastes are subjective. It’s a decent book, but I feel like it could be better. Someone else might think it is the most perfect book in the genre. And that’s okay too.

Too short, at 169 pages it felt really rushed. The plot was really rushed and it spoilt it.

I usually love Kate Oliver but this one really wasn’t great. It’s supposed to be 179 pages, and it’s only 169, and with all the huge spacing I’d guess it’s about 150 pages. At £3.88 its way too expensive! Everything is way too rushed, even the one and only s*x scene was blink and you would miss it. It’s also boring.

Ella meets King when she moves into Shadowridge, and working for the mayor’s new project puts her in close contact with King. King is a firefighter and part of the Mc and also a daddy. As soon as he sets eyes on Ella he’s smitten and so is Ella. There’s a slight bit of drama with another woman but nothing exciting.

There are a few things that bothered me as well. In all of Kate Oliver’s other books, BEFORE they get into a relationship they have a conversation about rules, and what sort of daddy the man is. In this one they don’t and I really didn’t like it. AFTER Ella has agreed that King will be her daddy, he starts laying the law down on what he expects her to behave like. Rules such as she’s not allowed outside without asking King first. Erm? After she agrees to be his he tells her he’s a very strict daddy, and tells her all his rules, and there’s a LOT OF THEM! As it’s so rushed there are a lot of things I really don’t know. For example I assume Ella was renting her house, but it doesn’t say. Did she hand her notice in after she moved in with King? What did she do for work in New York when she lived with her parents? How old are they both? It never says but I’m assuming Ella is early twenties, did she go to college? She gets a job working for the major, doing what? What is her actual job? Does she have an office near the mayor. It only ever says about her office in the fire station. Which I don’t understand why she’s got an office there. Does King have any brothers or sisters?

One last complaint. As per King’s rules he does all Ella’s personal things like cleaning her teeth. He only cleaned her teeth before bed once, with the amount of sugar that Ella eats in a day she really needs to clean her teeth! Ewwww! One night he gives her chocolate in bed, yeah that’s really good for her teeth!

Sorry it’s not great. 🥹 Way too short.

Another amazing book in the Shadowridge Guardians MC series. Number 11, and this series is losing none of its shine. I loved this story.
Ella has just moved to Shadowridge. She has finally gotten out of New York and away from her parents' lifestyle. She had a new job, a new apartment, and a new start to her life, where she can finally be who she needs to be. A fresh start away from expectations and a society she does not fit into.
Soon after Ella starts her new job, she meets King. And the heat is instantaneous.
King is drawn to Ella. As soon as he realises Ella is little, certainty blooms. He will do everything he can to convince her she is his.
Throw in a jealous ex, work commitments, and a little who is discovering the life she had always dreamed of, and you have a captivating read.
I love these characters and this world. A lot of the previous cast are present and add depth and joy to this story.
I highly recommend this book, author, and series.

FAVOURITE BOOK IN THE SERIES SO FAR!

I genuinely loved everything about this book. Ella is the sweetest Little — playful, sassy, and absolutely lovable — but she can be a total savage when she needs to be. And then there’s King: a hot firefighter, ultra-protective Daddy, and just so damn sweet. He also just has a way with words.

While their relationship progressed quickly, it never felt rushed. We got a genuine exploration of the Dd/lg dynamic, and it wasn’t just an overly sexual story, there was real emotional connection.

I absolutely adored their relationship.

I loved Ella’s relationship with her parents and how fully they embraced and loved her for who she is. I also appreciated that King respected her autonomy, never using his role as her Daddy to take that away.

The side plot with Janelle added just enough tension without overshadowing the story or dragging it down.

It was done really well.

Honestly, I just loved it.

King is the eleventh book of the Shadowridge Guardians MC series of interconnected standalones. I have been waiting for King’s story and it didn’t disappoint! I loved how protective King was of Ella. He felt an instant connection with her and fell fast and hard. Ella was so sweet but also feisty! She might have been small but she wasn’t afraid to fight for what was hers. I love these two and this series and can’t wait for more of it!

Such a delightful, heartwarming story! I love the Shadowridge Guardian stories and this one is no exception. King has been looking for a Little girl, but never thought he would find her. That is until one day, he meets Ella and he just knows she’s the one. They clicked immediately and I just knew they would end up together. She’s such a breath of fresh air. So kind, so sweet and so loving. And King is so delicious and the perfect Daddy for her. I really enjoyed the journey they took me on into their relationship. My heart is full!!

I love the Shadowridge Guardians MC series and with each book I fall harder for these MC Daddies! In this book, firefighter, King meets his Little girl and falls head over motorcycle for her. He may be a bike riding hottie but he is the sweetest man ever when it comes to her. I really enjoyed watching him and Ella together. They were adorable. I’m giving KING the judy.ann.loves.books stamp of approval, TBR and Enjoy!

Another Kate Oliver triumph. I loved how King; a MC Firefighter, is so patient with Ella; the Mayors assistant, who is such a 'dollface' as King calls her.
This is a really sweet romance and I adored all the character dynamics, how the other Littles surround Ella with love and caring.
It's a perfect blend of, insta love, spice, smexy times, a bit of drama thrown in, found family and togetherness.
I found it a must read.

I swear, Kate Oliver can't write a bad book. This series has been wonderful, and I've enjoyed each one and now we get King's story. King is sweet, caring and looking for his own Little. Enter Ella! I just loved these two together and they made me smile so much! The story kept me totally engaged and it's always so good to see characters from previous stories pop in. This is one of my favorite series of all times and I highly recommend them to anyone who likes MC and Daddies!!!

Solo Good!!!!!!!!!

I am no good at writing reviews so here goes. King is brilliant, funny, sweet and so brilliantly enjoyable to sit and get completely lost in the story. Kate Oliver has such a great way of bringing warmth, laughter, fun and a joyful exuberance to each page. I love King but I want to be Ella on I also have decided that her kind of special salad is the only salad I ever want to eat from now on.

This one it HOT HOT HOT and not from the fires this man puts out! King and Ella are ADORABLE! I loved reading their story. I love their banter and the way they look at one another. He dotes on her and even though they have the whole DDLG thing it is not as intense as with some of these MC guys. I am always sad for a Kate Oliver book to be over but this one especially! I love it when I can get toally invested in characters and these 2 are def like that for me! Excellent job Kate!!!!

Grinning so hard!

Ella is the perfect Little Girl for King! She's authentic and sweet with a backbone of steel! And King is the perfect Daddy for her. It was love at first sight! The only con- the cover pic of King is not how I picture him in my head. I picture someone much bigger and maybe a little older. Anyway, I still loved this book and will keep reading. A HFN story.

Another good DD/lg story

If you've read other books in this series you know the format - DD meets his lg and instantly knows she's the one. King is a little more bossy and Ella's Little is somewhat younger than others in this series but their story seamlessly fits. I'm going to be sad when this series ends.

I think this was my favorite inSHADOWRIDGE land

King was the best and he and Ella fit together so well. I also like how the other LITTLES were in on the fun.

My only complaint is I didn't like his nickname for her. Just didn't like DOLLFACE

But loved it
