I love this book! The listening experience was Amazing, so much was going on with this story, I laughed and my mouth dropped a few times! The characters were amazing!Definitely was a good book! I’m still sitting and SMH!

WHEW 😰 I’m so mentally exhausted after this!!!!
GOOD LAWDDD these characters took me through the ringer 😫I want to say that this is not imo a romance!! This is more soap opera/ romantic thriller vibes. It has romanctic actions in it but NOTHING ABOUT WHAT THEY GO THROUGH SHOULD BE ROMANTICIZED. Enjoy this for the entertainment and entertainment ONLY. That being said THIS WAS BATSHIT CRAZY 🦇😝very action filled and SUSPENSE. I HATED EVERYONE BY THE END OF IT. But they entertained me nonetheless.

Boss is a roller coaster ride from page one till the very end. We are thrown into this story. We follow along Samiko, Tiff, Jarobi, Brixton & Boss and more characters throughout this story.
You get betrayal, violence, shock, heartbreak, abuse, and so much more in this story. The characters were flawed, had struggles, heartbreak, turmoil, and there was plenty of mess and drama to go around. This story had me not wanting to put the book down I was fully invested in this story and was wondering what was going to happen next. This story is layered and it was a wild ride from beginning to end. You never truly know what’s going to happen! This is action packed.
I caught myself saying “Ope, Not The, What Did I Just Read? What’s Happening?” All signs of a fantastic story! I will say to check ya trigger warnings if you’ve got any. I wouldn’t say anything it’s explicit with some things but some things might be triggering for some.
If this one is on your TBR, move Boss up I know you won’t regret it you’ll be fully immersed into Boss from the beginning. Fantastic job, Jade!

Wow this was a WILD ride!! BOSS throws you right into the lives of Samiko, Boss, and the people around them—a world filled with danger, loyalty, passion, and betrayal. The story is packed with drama and high-thrilling moments that had me invested in how everything would play out.
I mean, this book had everything—thrill, action, spice, and nonstop entertainment. At times there was so much going on I almost wanted to start making a character web, but that just shows how layered it was. It kept me flipping pages, and when I wasn’t reading, I was still thinking about what would happen next.
The characters felt real—messy, flawed, but so easy to connect with. It’s a story that keeps you guessing, rooting, and sometimes yelling at the pages. If you love urban romance that’s dramatic, addictive, and hard to put down, BOSS definitely deserves a spot on your TBR.

This book is titled “Boss” but there are so many likable and unlikable supportive characters! This book is action packed drama from the beginning to the end there was NEVER a dull moment in this story in my opinion. Samiko and Boss fell head over heels in love with each, it didn’t matter that they both were in relationships at that time of them meeting. They were both unhappy with the people they were with and the hear wants what the heart wants. I have no idea why Tiffany put up with Brixton’s manipulative and deceitful way for so long. He cheated, physically, and verbally abused her but pulled the ultimate low blow with her twin sister Taraji. Taraji needed her tail whooped and deserved every bit of the whooping that Tiffany put on her. Brixton and Boss’s father Mazi was the devil that man is pure evil. This book really should had been called Karma because everybody was being served what they deserved. This book is hands down a five star for me. There are very dark tropes here and not trigger warnings, so I get these stories are not for everyone but hey I loved it. Looking forward to going through Ms. Jones’s catalogue.

I read this bc I was looking for something different to read. The reviewers said that it was full of drama and action, so I was down. I’ve read pretty much all of Jade Jones’ catalog so I was expecting greatness. This, however, was not that. It’s not bad but it felt exceptionally long I’m thinking bc it was very wordy and repetitive. Once we read about specific details once there’s not really a need to put it in again almost exactly the same way. This one felt like she just had a lot of ideas for different stories and put them all together to try to make one cohesive story, so imo it’s a lot. Now I will say that the reviewers were correct! The level of messiness and drama is def top tier lol. And it was also full of action. So if that’s what you are looking for then this may be right for you!

When I say this was NOT a good story at all and the fact the author blatantly didn’t know where she wanted the setting is crazy work. How do u write a book set in Chicago but there is NOTHING about Chicago in the book, it’s Atlanta? The women were horrible the men were worse and this went on over half the book. There wasn’t one like-able character in the book. There was no chemistry between Samiko and Boss in my opinion at all. He was just a good looking man with money, I mean that’s all the author talked about. How much money the men dropped, their houses, the cars they drive, the name brand clothes they wear, etc.. we get it they’re rich. Let’s move the story along please. It was the same go round chapter after chapter with no real growth. I stopped reading at 40-45%. I can’t do it anymore, I was already skipping through boss and samiko chapters. This was really bad and the women were soooo dumb.

Ummmm…
This was a lot and not in a good way for me. It was also very messy but again, not in a good way. There were parts of the story that were absolutely cringe and unnecessary and other twists that were just okay.
One thing I did love was the use of Yoruba language. It was my first ever reading it, so I really appreciated that detail.
Idk if it was just me but I couldn’t figure out if they were in Chicago or Atlanta. West Chicago was reference a lot of times but they also went to a Hawks game and at one point said “when we touch back down in the A.”
And the description of Boss and Brix kept getting mixed up. It just didn’t do it for me.

Before reading this story, there are some things to know: Blood isn’t always thicker than water. Nothing is free, there’s always a price, and your biggest foe can be right there in your corner. The twists and turns in this book will have you sitting upright with your eyes wide and mouth agape.
The characters in this book will have your emotions running high with their foolishness and antics. Everyone is being messy in one shape or form, especially with Brixton's trifling a**.
Samiko, Jarobi and Boss..Ha! That whole situation is popcorn-worthy. Boss said, let me show you how a real man work, and he did, and then some. He had Jarobi acting all outta pocket because he snatched up Samiko.
Some scenes can be hard to read. Jade doesn’t hold back in the details of her scenes, you’re going to get it raw and uncut like the scene with Tiff and Cruz, it was heartbreaking, he deserved what he got at the end.
Overall, I enjoyed the story. Jade Jones's pen game is fire and I’ve loved each gem I’ve read from her. So, if you haven’t checked out her catalog, you’re missing out...BIG TIME!!!!

This book is going to take you through it. It is Batshit crazy and when you’re done reading you’re still going to be processing. There are so many different story lines, ups and downs plot twist, turns, crossovers, betrayal, envy, come up’s hell even the odd man out. Whereas you might be rooting for one or feeling one way about one or more characters they all have fucked up logic at some point, or another through this book. This is by far not in any way shape form or fashion a romance novel. Personally, I feel this is one long season of a good twisted soap opera. I don’t even think that this is a love story. Everything is about control and power. I enjoyed the ride thoroughly but damn do they take you though it!!!!

This book was absolutely amazing!. Author Jade Did her thing with this one. From the jump Boss became bae, and don't get me.started on Kannon; when Mazi explained what he did to their mother I was wondering what had happened to the baby happy in the end it all came.out. now Briston I wanted karma to get him but not like that, he wanted Tyraige to continue to allow him to mistreat her but when she found out about her sister that was crazy, Briston held so many secrets and had done wrong to so many but when he took his side piece body to shield himself from getting shot was it he proved to be the.coward that he was indeed. This is an ABSOLUTELY MUST READ!!

Wow! This was such a great read! Drama, romance, action , the plots just kept on twisting. I feel like when reading about Boss ,I also got to read about so many other character’s development . Somicko who was in a tumultuous relationship runs into Boss and instantly changes her life. This book was so good. I’m so happy everyone got their happy ending. That Brixton was a real YN! The way he did our girl was crazy. I can’t lie toward the end I started to have a change of heart when it came to Brixton so the ending definitely kind of hurt my feelings. Great book! Definitely 5 stars plus more

Karma is something serious. I'm glad that Kannon and all of them got their horrible ending. Them women went through so much for nothing. Tiffany was stupid. There is no way she should have stayed with Kannon. After all the stuff he put her through she should have been left.

Wow..Toxic as AF
This book should have been called Toxic AF...the book was well written to only reason I gave it four stars was because, I felt it jumped all over thr place with the different views and left me with a bunch of questions of how and why.

This was surprisingly good. I won't spoil it for others but give it a go. I saw the comments about the confusion between Atlanta and Chicago places, but fortunately for us International readers, it made no difference. Can't wait to read more from this author

Great book but I hate the inconsistency with locations.
For it to be set in Chicago, all the cities and places named are from GA/Atlanta Area. It creates so much confusion for people that are familiar with both cities.

This book was not good. I feel like it had potential but the drama was just too much back to back and everything was rushed. Also I didn’t feel like we got to know the characters much. Everything was just so fast and beyond unrealistic. I couldn’t finish this one even though I tried so hard to

I really liked this story—spicy, dramatic, and messy in all the best ways—but lord, them names had me doubling back like “who this again?” Even with that, the plot stayed good, and the ending had me satisfied.

Fell off towards the end
I liked the inclusion of Nigerian language in culture in the book. However, the book fell off for me towards the end. Didn't like how the SA was handled. All in all a good book.
