Rate this book
Hermione will do anything to prove to her boss at Witch Weekly that she's ready to take on more serious topics, including dating a man just to drive him away for the sake of her next column, How to Lose a Wizard in 10 Days. But pushing Draco Malfoy away proves to be a challenging task, perhaps because he's got ten days to make her fall in love with him.

Dramione fanfiction is not a rabbit-hole as I formerly considered it. It's a supermassive blackhole; it's trying to suck me in, and I am TERRIFIED of it.

I caved in and picked whatever this was up, not because it sounded particularly enticing but because I needed something quick to read and I had just come off of reading and reviewing Alchemised. Honorable mention goes to the Dramione fanfic recs and art that have regularly begun appearing on my fyp these days. And so I downloaded it and read it.

We're talking about the faaaaaaaar fucking fetched side of fan fiction here.

I kinda already recognized that most fanfic is sheer fucking delusion, but this, er, particular version of events really drove the point home.

My 5 stages of denial while reading:

Why couldn't they create new characters set in the Harry Potter world and write stories about THEM? Why take two perfectly established and thoroughly incapabale-of-falling-in-love-with-each-other characters and put them through a veritable comedy of never-in-a-million-years situations while ruining the reader's existing feelings/perceptions regarding those characters? Was it really that difficult to make a brand-new Malfoy, a distant cousin perhaps? Was it really that far-fetched for another Muggle-born witch attending Hogwarts to exist? Why do people insist on twisting and ruining something that DOES. NOT. NEED. IT?

You're telling me that Hermione Granger, one-third of the golden trio, a war-hero, brightest witch of her age, ended up at Witch Weekly, writing articles about sex? That she saw Draco after all those years and was like, hmm, I could bang that!? Why am I wasting my breath, no one actually cares about things aligning with the original books because people eat this crap up. They've been doing it for the last 2 decades and will continue to do so long after.

Ugh.

This was so cute. Romcoms aren’t something I really gravitate towards but this was so for me. I love how they were both driving each other mad and couldn’t understand what was going on with the other. Draco was hilarious while he was going insane and Blaise was great too. I love when Blaise is the serious one out of the Slytherin boys but this new light hearted playful Blaise was great. He had some of the best quotes. This was one of the easiest fics for me to visualize. I literally had a movie playing in my brain the whole time I was reading. Love love love it.

The chapter that consisted of the parents' weekend trip was very well written. Mixing her background with her parents in and how they handled being oblivating. Loved ut.

Le concept, comme le film avec Kate Hudson (how to lose a guy in ten days) très bien exécuté :)
Trop court à mon goût, j'aurais voulu + !
