Sniping...the perfect shot of his fave idol is only possible for Endo with his previous assassin training, and he will stop at nothing (even faking his own death) to support his bias.
The tone of this volume is quite different from the first one. Volume 2 is more serious and dark. I was eagerly anticipating a fun and lighthearted read filled with silly antics, but it doesn’t seem to be heading in the direction I had hoped for. Regrettably, I’m not particularly interested in continuing this series.
The series really gets going in this second volume. The retired hitman, Owaru Endou, is ordered to return to his crime organisation, but he’s not going quietly and now he has everyone after him. He doesnt’t care. He’s on a mission to help his favourite girl group and his favourite member, Kaorin, to win an important music competition, this time sighting through a camera lens instead of a rifle finder.
This is a fun mix of very serious and violent yakuza action and silly antics of dedicated full-time stanning. The art reflects the two sides well too: the girls are drawn cutesy and light, the criminals harsh and dark. The ending isn’t a cliffhanger this time, but the story is left open. I will definitely read more.
I love getting books on release day so much!!! Came home from work, grabbed my package, and immediately got to read the latest installment of my new favorite series — no better feeling!!
I love this volume because their relationship is really, subtly growing. I think Kaorin is really beginning to see Endou as someone she can’t live without. And Endou goes through a lot in this volume reaffirming that he’s exactly where he wants and needs to be. I truly only want the best for both of them!!!
I’m scared and excited for what the next volume will bring!! I want peace and happiness and success for these two… but I think it’s going to be hard won!
The hilarious second volume in the series and I was just laughing so much. Great action scenes (as Endou is called back and a lot of trouble follows him), we get some backstory again, see some stuff from Kaorin's POV (which I love), there is a competition to get the idol group in a special place (which made laugh some more as to how Endou approached that), Endou is a true idol fan (I loved seeing him even memorise the dances), and more! I love this series and I cannot wait for the next one!
this volume is a little more serious and a little less silly than the first, which is a logical path for this to take, but I do really miss the hilarious vibes of vol 1. I just love endou so much, and I hope he gets more time with kaori. the scenes of him dancing and then him saving her with the choreography was absolutely the best!!!!
