In a city plunged into perpetual darkness, Alex Trueman faces his most perplexing adventure yet. He knows that he explores a dream but this is all he knows. Oneiro City, cut off from the rest of the world is at the heart of this dream, a world threatened by lethal nightmares and an existential threat. At first, Alex has no understanding of his role here but little by little this is revealed to him as he becomes enmeshed with conspiracy and the dark schemes of a tyrannical regime. At first, it seems that he faces this strange world alone but soon he finds that his familiar faces are at hand, players in a great drama in which Alex must spare this world from tragedy in order to save another in his own. Alex has come a long way from the anxious schoolboy we first encounter in A Moment in Time. In the dark and rainswept streets of Oneiro Alex continues on the road to self-discovery that fate has ordained for him.
I was gifted this book as an Arc read for an honest review
This book was a thrilling and enjoyable read which had me hooked from the first chapter.
In this latest adventure Alex has to enter into a dream in order to save a friend from death. This adventure takes Alex into the dangerous world of the city known to Alex as Onerio City which is cut off from the rest of the world. It explores the lives of gangs drugs and conspiracy.
Alex had matured since his first adventure A Moment In Time and this book really delivers that well throughout.
I found this book a very enjoyable read and became more intrigued throughout the story. Martin did a good job of drawing the reader in, which is what I love to get from a good book, where you become so involved in the story you feel part of it.
I loved the concept of the dream slayer and the sentiment behind it regarding Alex and his father from when he was a child.
I feel Martin as taken the feedback from is fellow readers and made this Alex Trueman Adventure the best one yet!!!
This is the 4th book in the Alex Trueman series and the best one by far! My favourite was the Worm winds of Zanzibar, but this book has now topped that!!! Looking forward to the next one 🙂

Thank you Martin for my gifted copy! As always Martins writing and stories are fantastic and A thousand days of Night certainly is just a fantastic. In this latest adventure, we see Alex entering into a dream in order to save one of his friends from death, but not is all as it seems in this dream state and Alex is faced with alot of trials and danger. We see some familiar faces from previous stories, Kelly, Tanya, Will and Henry but can he help them remember who he is? This story is thrilling and kept me turning those pages! Loved it!
I received this book in exchange for a honest review o have read all the previous Alex trueman adventures and throughly enjoyed them and this one is no different the adventures he takes you on are amazing and I myself can not wait for his next adventure
This book had me hooked from the first chapter! A thousand Days of Night is the 4th installation in the Alex Trueman chronicles and it's the best so far.
We meet our hero at a house party where Alex tries to stop his friends cousin from dying but to do so he must enter the dream world to unravel it's mystery.
I loved the dream city. It was stuck in perpetual night, always raining and cut off from the rest of the world. And to top it off monsters, Thanatoi, were killing people off in their sleep.
There were multiple twists in this story that kept me wanting to read "just one more chapter" before it was over so quick.
I also enjoyed the mention of a book by R J Wheldrake, a sneaky pen name of the Author.
Id recommend to all YA sci fi and fantasy lovers for a fresh read. I can't wait for the next one!
