This is the story of Babe Ruth and his life growing up as a young boy to where he got later in his life. IT talks about how a he was a badly behaved kid, but then grows into a nice young well-rounded man that began a career in professional baseball and became very successful. With this topic I would have my students pick a biography of one of their idols and do a book study/ book report on it.

Babe Ruth has an interesting story. From a rough childhood growing up in a school for troubled boys, to his wild temper on the baseball field. Not to mention all he did in baseball. He still hold records almost a century later.

This book details the story of Babe Ruth, a very successful baseball player in the MLB. I would recommend this book to students when I teach about biographies. I also like that this book is written in large print, which is a great accommodation for some students.

I liked this book a lot and it kind of shows how sports have changed over the years. The book begins with George (Babe Ruth) always getting into trouble with the police and having to go to a special police station for younger middle school kids. After a while of getting in trouble his parents send him to a school for kids like him and that is where he learns what baseball is and he loves it. That is all I will say about the beginning because if you haven't read it I would not want to spoil it. My favorite characters are Babe Ruth his parents the police because they are kind of funny and his friends at his school. One problem George faced is that he only played baseball for a small school team and nobody would recognize him. The problem gets solved but you'll have to read about it to figure out how.

This book reminded me of me because I love sports but I know that no one will recognize it because Grantsville isn't that big but also I get into trouble sometimes but that is okay as long as it isn't bad enough for the police to come. My favorite part of the story is when the Red Socks kick him off the team then the Yankees pick him up and he does really well and the Red Socks regretted their choice. I just like how he went from being a naughty little kid getting in trouble to being a big strong really good baseball player I just think it is really cool.

I think it was a great book and if you are looking for a good sports or history book to read this would be the one. It was a pretty easy book to read so if you like reading big long books I would not recommend it for you unless you just want a quick easy book to read. Other than that though it was a really good book and it is really interesting. It also teaches you Babe Ruth's life while being a great sports book I just think it is great all around and i recommend it to anyone.

... Babe Ruth

The book Babe Ruth is basically about babe ruth in his childhood years up to when he maid it in the pros. Babe Ruth if you did not know is a very famous baseball player. The book is mostly based on his childhood when he first discovered the game of baseball. When he was a kid he had to be moved to and church school. There he learned the game of baseball and never stopped playing it.
The author wrote this book for people who are baseball fans and now the legend of babe ruth. Everyone knows babe ruth. He is the baseball legend. This book is basically is a biography written in a way that looks like babe ruth wrote it hiself. The climax of the story is when he is discovered and is put on the yankees. I recommend this book to all the baseball fans. I didn't like it that much because im not that big of a baseball fan. It was alright ok. Babe Ruth was a great baseball player.

This was a very good book. It is a quick read about the life of Babe Ruth before and even after his major league days. It was very fascinating learning about how Babe wasn't always the national star he rose to be. As a child he would often get into lots of trouble. His parents eventually became so fed up with his nonsense that they sent him to a reform school at only the age of 7 - St. Mary's Industrial School for boys. Babe would go on to spend the next 12 years of his life inside the walls of St. Mary's. It seems like it's going to be an awful ending for him, until he learns about baseball. He was taught everything he knew at this school and later on went pro. Although, it wasn't as easy as it seems. He went through a lot of tough times to get to the point he reached, with unbelievable determination and hard work. Read this book to find out more about Ruth's crazy life! I would recommend this book to anyone that loves sports and historical fiction.

This is a good book. It describes Babe Ruth's life and how it played out in full detail. It describes his childhood and his teen life and his life in the MLB. You would be surprised how much he changed, read to find out!

In his childhood, Babe was always getting in trouble, he got sent to reform school. His parents could no longer handle him. He seemed destined for a short unhappy life.

But then he learned to play baseball and his teacher helped him become the best at his reform school. He pitched, caught, and hit very well.

Suddenly, when he was doing amazingly well in the reform school in baseball, the Orioles offered him to play for them! He couldn´t believe this!

Look! I read a book! It was about the Babe! And this particular babe had no ruth when on the field hitting against an opposing team. He had no ruth at all. He was outright ruthless. Which is hopefully a thing of irony, given his last name. Why did I read this book? The same reason I read (past tense) most of my books: because it was there at the same time I was. And it was being unused at the same time I was unoccupied. Yankees win!

It was a pretty quick and easy read. It was written on the level of probably 10 to 16 year old youngsters, but still had a lot of interesting stories and facts about Babe Ruth. Some of the history was new to me. I would recommend it to baseball fans for sure.

This book was a good story through Babe Ruth's life but I must say this book got quite boring even with all his adventures. I'd recommend this to people who enjoy baseball or other sports and people who enjoy reading about people from the past. I will most likely read this book again.
