He dared to steal my bride, so it's only fair I respond by kidnapping his innocent sister.
Only a monster with no morals would kidnap a woman from her brother's wedding… Which was precisely what I've become, a monster bent on revenge.
After all, as the billionaire Marksen DuBois, renowned for being a jilted groom, my reputation and business were in tatters. There was nothing more dangerous than a man possessing power, boundless resources, and a vendetta.
I would torment him with increasingly degrading photos of his precious sister as I held her captive and under my complete control. She'd have no option but to yield to my every command if she wished to shield herself and her family from further disgrace.
She was just a captured pawn to be dominated, exploited, and discarded. Yet the more ensnared we become in my twisted game of revenge, the more my suspicions grow. As she fiercely counters my every move, I begin to question whether I'm the true pawn… ensnared by my queen.

RETALIATION FOR A STOLEN BRIDE by kidnapping the little sister 📸🌶️ extra spicy story for all dark romance girlies ✨
“Bad things happen to bratty little girls who misbehave.”
You should read this for: 🚩 the Greek mascarade orgy 🚩 the SPICY blackmail creation! fmc is forced to pose in scandalous poses 🌶️ with props! 🚩 hate fu*king!! *speechless* 🚩 foul-mouthed mmc (I mean that in the best way possible)
Marksen abducts childhood friend Olivia in a revenge plot against his former best friend. THIS MAN IS FILTHY!!! Be aware this is dark romance ✨ non/dub con, forbidden dirty talk & just plain out smuttiness!
“In complete submission, she wasn’t a princess. She was a fucking goddess.”
“You look so perfect like this,” I rasped in her ear. “My perfect little captive.”
Slowly Marksen develops feelings for Olivia and starts feeling bad for mistreating her 🥹 As mean as he was at times, I wanted this man to CRAWL back to her!! I think he should have done equally unspeakable acts to redeem himself. I’m talking literally crawling behind her 🧎
I wish Olivia’s character was more developed. She really shined at the end but her not knowing how to turn on the stove did enrage me. HER ENDING WAS LITERALLY SO PERFECT!!! You go, Glen Coco!!

Thank you so much to the authors for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
We are in book 2!! And I was waiting for this one because we got snips of Marksen in book one and how he was humiliated. Now he's getting revenge, and what better way then to steal his ex best friends sister.
Olivia they did grow up together she did have a crush on him, but nothing happened due to the fued her brother and Marksen had. She thinks it's a game when he kidnaps her, and treats her like a child by punisnishing her and well taking something from her. But the more time she spends with Marksen, she gets a hot and cold whiplash from the blackmail he's done he also has some sweet moments. But he was pretty cruel and just blamed that on his revenge to her brother. Like cruel stuff.. that had me question for a split min if he cared.
Honest, I didn't think I would cry when he did that public betrayal. And Olivia was too forgiving she should've made him grovel or something because she let him off too easy. We also get our couple from book one and more side characters.
I am worried about Harrison book since he's asking for a wife, and his FMC is his assistant. So.. im worried about the OW drama.
Low angst, no ow/om drama, no cheating, Drama, sexy times, virgin gal sorta manwhores (talked about his past and one of his workers use be a fk buddy he turns her away. Nothing else.)

Marksen DuBois has planned and plotted since his wife-to-be was stolen from him at the altar.
Oblivious to the part she’ll play in Marksen’s revenge scheme, Olivia Manwarring assumes it’s nothing more than a prank gone too far.
Literally was unsure if I’d ever be able to Marksen as anything but a d-bag of epic proportions. Not gonna lie, although there were glimpses, he pushed the envelope. I’m not even sure how to explain it. I love an unrepentant MMC, but he was just so blinded by his pride, I think. All told, I liked their story and really have a soft spot for Olivia.

I almost want to pretend like I didn’t read the second book in this series. Marksen seeks revenge from the humiliation he endured from book one and uses the hero from book one’s sister, Olivia, to do it.
Olivia is NOT prepared for the true nature of Marksen’s revenge or how far he’s actually going to take it. I’m not sure I ever warmed to Marksen. I thought for sure the iconic possessive and obsessive alpha males that Blake and Hensley write would shine through. Alas, he was a prideful douchebag through most of the story.
I loved Olivia. She was such a sweet character but she definitely needed to make Marksen work for her forgiveness more.
The steam was good, the plot was good but the relationship was a bit of a letdown. On to the next one!
Book two begins with Marsten taking photographs of Olivia in her bridesmaids dress as she’s studying the art within the sensual sculpture park, at Luc and Amelia’s wedding. Nicely buzzing from champagne and caught off guard, Olivia isn’t strong enough to fight Marsten off when he kidnaps her. He’s come up with a foolproof way to hurt Luc. When Luc took Amelia from him, he couldn’t have done it in a more humiliating and reputation damaging way…at their wedding, so Marsten is going to take Luc’s younger sister and ruin her. It will ruin her and humiliate him and his family. An eye for an eye. Olivia doesn’t understand why Marsten is so obsessed with using her in his revenge. He was her first teenage crush, her brothers best friend. And he’s still gorgeous with a fantastic physique. It’s his personality that seems to be lacking. But when he starts to use her body, initially lines are crossed. She’s convinced she must have developed some sort of Stockholm syndrome to allow him to do what he is to her. But, everything he does, every photo he takes, the goal is simple. Ruin Olivia, hurt Luc. He’s just making sure he enjoys the whole process. Luc is appalled at the photos that he is receiving. But the way his father reacts, it admittedly would have.been the same way he himself would have reacted, before he met Amelia. His eyes are no longer wide shut. Olivia is of value. This charade of Marsten’s could forever ruin both her reputation and her business. But why is he doing this? Slowly both sides start to see the pattern that’s taking place. But what do they do? And how does Marsten let go of this electric chemistry between him and Olivia? How could Olivia possibly be wishing that this between them was real? He’s ruined her for anyone else. A fantastic follow up that can be read as a standalone, but be even better if read in order, beginning with Luc’s betrayal in the story that ignites the need for revenge. And vengeance still hasn’t been met. Time for Harrison to work his magic. Fantastic.
I may have discovered that I am not a fan of dark romance. Or maybe (MAYBE) this book is romanticizing rape, sex without consent, crazy mood swings, invalidation of women, possessiveness… I dunno, too crazy. Most of the times I was like: what the hell. She lacks decision but she built her own empire?, he lacks a heart but oh, suddenly he feels sorry and wants to protect her. It was all too incoherent and disorganized.
Then Hate Me is the second book in this series. And while it is said that it can be read as a standalone, I would disagree with that to a point. I would definitely consider this to an interconnected standalone.
Then Hate Me is Marksen and Olivia's story. However, you need to understand the dynamics between all the parties involved and you get all that in book one, The More I Hate. I was not lost per se, but it took me a bit to get fully vested in this story and feel like I understood how everyone was intertwined.
I found the plot intriguing and the pacing of the book was spot on. It was entertaining to see both Marksen and Olivia fight within themselves on feelings they were not suppose to be feeling towards one another. It may their passion even hotter.
I do wish that Olivia would have made Marksen gravel more in the end. She's a strong heroine and throughout the story, definitely pushed back on him and I loved those parts. So I was hoping to see more of that in the end from her.
Overall, it's a great second book in this series. I would definitely read the first book to get a much better understanding of the dynamics and to truly enjoy this one as a whole. I am definitely looking forward to book three - Harrison's story.
Marksen DuBois seeks vengeance. When Olivia's brother Luc snatched his bride, Amelia, from him on their wedding day, Marksen's wounded pride drives him to seek retribution. He plots to kidnap Olivia, tarnishing her reputation and, consequently, besmirching the Manwarring family name, as his ultimate act of revenge.
As Marksen delves deeper into his path of vengeful darkness, he finds himself subtly drawn to Olivia's innocence, which paradoxically adds a glimmer of redemption to his character. Yet, despite Olivia's innocence, she is far from fragile. With her fierce determination and unwavering strength, she proves to be a formidable opponent for her captor. Their gripping psychological battle crackles with intensity and intrigue, creating an aura of heat and mystery.
The narrative is expertly crafted, boasting a seamless flow that captivates from start to finish. Laden with palpable angst and a pervasive sense of peril, it keeps readers on the edge of their seats. Yet, just when one anticipates a typical plea for forgiveness, Olivia defies expectations with a bold, boss-like demeanour, delivering an unexpectedly epic resolution. The ending caught me completely off guard, in the best way possible.
Wow, I love this story. If there is a couple that is perfect it would be Marksen and Olivia. She has had a crush on Marksen through her teenage years, but as an adult she wanted to make a name for herself. Whereas, Marksen and her brother were best friends who, became enemies. Which lead to Olivia’s feelings for Marksen resurfacing and forcing Marksen to realize his own feelings for her in return. I must saw their captivity away from everyone was interesting. I love how intriguing Marksen found Olivia. Whereas he had her emotions all over the place. I also found the misunderstanding between the two where a bit insightful and might have lead to their hearts joining as one. I must say I love that Marksen love and appreciated Olivia’s intelligence and strength. Most of all I love that he sort to get her revenge first knowing that she will take care of her release and the pictures will follow.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Marksen DuBois. One would think he would take his loss and move on, especially after he and his ex best-friend have each had their jabs. It's too late, though. Marksen has his plan set and his sights on Olivia Manwarring.
OMG, this book is spicy hot. I didn't expect it. Well, I should have, but it took me by surprise all the same. Olivia is not just a pretty face. She is young, beautiful, smart, feisty, and she surprises Marksen completely.
Marksen had his plan set to use Olivia to get his revenge against Luc. He just didn't expect HER.
The heat and connection I loved and I enjoyed the plot as well. I mean, who doesn't love a good blackmail/revenge story with lots of spice.
I’m actually enraged??? I’ve never encountered a more unlikable character than Marksen or whatever his name is. To be so bold about how disgusting you are is CRAZY! And before anyone says “it’s dark!” There’s dark and then there’s Law and Order: Special Victims Unit. And Olivia? Girl, if you don’t STAND UP - my GOD. It’s unfortunate because I don’t usually have such a visceral reaction to the over the top darkness in some of Zoe Blake’s work but this took the cake for a male lead that needed to be curb stomped.
OMG!!! This book is pure fire 🔥 I loved it so much!
I hated Marksen DuBois in the first book and I didn’t think it was possible for me to like this character. But boy, was I wrong!
It was interesting to read the push and pull from Marksen. One minute he’s hot and the next one he’s cold. Olivia is very cool! I would be scared in her situation but she handled everything like a pro. She never gave up. The chemistry and tension between Marksen and Olivia was so hot! Marksen has very dirty mouth.
I love that Olivia has her own business. She is making her own way and doing it all by herself. She is the definition of a business savvy woman.
I also enjoyed reading a few chapters from Luc and Amelia’s POV.
Overall I loved this story so much and I cannot wait for Harrison’s book to come out next. If you’re a fan of a dark billionaire enemies to lovers romance, then you’re going to love this wonderful book.
✨ Review ✨ *** Then Hate Me was so good!! I loved Olivia. She was so sweet and fierce. Marksen was a loveable jerk. He was cruel and a bit evil but in the end made up for it. I loved the storyline and the twists. Olivia was a badass for figuring out the twist on her own. The spice was so good and the writing was phenomenal. I cannot wait for Harrison's story! *** Stars: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Spice: 🔥🔥🔥 Romance: 🩷🩷🩷 *** Thank you to Blake Hensley for the ARC to review. ***
Then Hate Me is a terrific read. I loved it from beginning to end. Marksen is a very grey character who is unlikeable one minute and then loveable the next and back to being unlikeable again. There are moments that make you want to strangle him and cry for Olivia. Some moments are heartbreaking and others exhilarating. This book is well written and the writers have collaborated really well together. Looking forward to reading more of their combined work
The old saying Revenge is a dish best served cold just doesn’t apply to this book and as this story starts where the last book (More I Hate) finishes the heat in this revengeful dish just gets hotter and hotter… Continuing from where the first book finishes Marksen had spied his object in revenge by taking a Manwaring sibling Olivia and in using her to extract his revenge, his cold and exacting revenge to humiliate and scandalise Olivia even if he fights with the guilt, but Olivia isn’t the shrinking violet damsel in distress and once having a “crush” on Marksen growing up she, tries to change Marksen’s prospective in what her role in the family,y really entails … I loved the twists, scheming suspense and drama in this enemies to lovers saga and I’m defiantly anticipating the next book in the series..

Plot: Told in mukti POV, the book starts off with Marksen k1dnapping Olivia at her brothers wedding day as retaliation for stealing his bride and ruining his business. He takes photos of different situations in order to ruin Olivia and bl@ckmail Lucian. Will innocent Olivia fall for her captor or will Marksen pull a grinch and let her go?
The book is enjoyable, good plot, there’s some character building and loved the s3xy scenes.
I was blessed with an arc copy and am leaving a voluntary review.
This story was so good! I love Olivia and Marksen. This story was so twisted and dark with all the heat. Just what I expected from these authors. It does end with a cliffhanger that will start Harrison’s story. I can’t wait to see where it goes.

I received a copy of this arc arc in exchange for my honest review. Oh my gosh, when I didn’t think I could love these characters more, book two comes out and we get Marksen and Olivia! Blake Hensley brings us another bingeworthy story, with a ruthless and alpha MMC that you can always expect from them. Marksen is an absolute deviant. Luc stole his bride, he lost his business deal, and he is out for revenge. To get back at him, he takes something important to him. He kidnaps his sister, Olivia, at Luc and Amelia’s wedding. His only motivation is to ruin Luc’s family’s reputation, just as Luc did to him when he stole his bride. Olivia fights him tooth and nail, but discovers she doesn’t hate him as much as she wants to. The more she fights him, the more her body betrays her and tells another story. Olivia is successful in her business, she’s independent and has a fire in her. The more she fights Marksen, the more he wants her. Feelings develop before either one realizes, and Marksen battles an internal struggle. These two have some insane chemistry. Despite “hating” him, Olivia’s body lights up like an inferno when he’s near. These two can’t seem to stop “hating” one another. This book is HOT. These two are HOT. This story will completely consume you, and leave you HOT and BREATHLESS. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This series is spicy and f*cked up and I am absolutely LOVING IT!
After Luc stole his bride and went after his company, Marksen is hellbent on revenge.
Olivia, Luc’s sister, is a savvy businesswoman, but naive. She ignored the red flags about Marksen being dangerous and she paid the price… in captivity.
THOUGHTS 💭 🖤 There’s this deeply primal, deeply f*cked up lust between Marksen and Olivia that is absolutely delicious to read about. 🖤 This book is not for the faint of heart. There’s captivity, degradation, public spice, manipulation, blackmail… the list goes on and on. 🖤 Olivia is a spitfire and had me guffawing laughing at some of the things she said/did. She proved herself to be a strong woman many times over. 🖤 This is a multiple POV book, but not just with our FMC and MMC - we also get Luc’s and Amelia’s perspectives (our main characters from the first book), which I thought was really interesting and added to the story. 🖤 Dub-con spice hits differently in books… it just…🥵 🖤 There were some loose ends I would have loved to have seen resolved at the end of this book. I hope those loose ends are neatly wrapped up in the next book.
Thanks so much to Zoe Blake and Alta Hensley for the ARC of this book.
The second book in the Gilded Decadence Series is PASSIONATELY THRILLING!!From the start this book is REMARKABLE!! I was enthralled with these characters and the storyline is FASCINATING.
Marksen and Olivia’s chemistry is smouldering and HOT!! They may have hated each other with all that transpired, but that line between love and hate is so thin.
Marksen has awakened the sensual side of Olivia and together each is discovering how deep this relationship is becoming regardless of revenge and reputations.
You really want to not like Marksen, but can’t stop from doing so! As for Olivia, I really enjoyed her character and how she worked hard to build her own business and has accomplished her success beyond her family name.
If you want to escape into a story that is provocative, intriguing and interesting you will definitely be delighted with this enemies to lovers romance. It will consume you and entertain you from beginning to end!
I enjoyed this story very much especially after reading the first book in this series. This book picks up where we left off in the first book and it was crazy, wild, spicy, and intriguing. From the beginning I was hooked with the kidnapping of Olivia and Marksen’s insistence that she be the pawn in this “war” with Luc. This dark story has an amazing plot waiting to be unraveled as well as a very interesting plot twist. I literally devoured this read and enjoyed the spicy moments that we get throughout. I screamed, cried, and laughed while reading and I’m excited to see how the main storyline throughout the books will unravel. I love a good series that can keep the mystery and suspense going throughout the books while giving us a closer look at the individual characters in each book!
Marksen is angry and is seeking revenge for a stolen bride and stolen business dealings. How will he get his revenge? By kidnapping Olivia the sister of his enemy. Olivia is a brilliant and smart business owner just trying to prove her worth by her work and not her name.
I will start with I loved the story line of this book. The plot was great and I enjoyed the reasonings of what was taking place in the story. The spice was great and those scenes were well written.
Olivia was an amazing FMC she was strong independent and fierce. I loved that she stood up for herself and didn’t hide how smart and capable she was.
Marksen was the only thing I did not enjoy in this story. His character just wasn’t likable. I love a good kidnapping and bullying story but he really didn’t have a redemption comeback to show forgiveness. I felt like he needed that.
I believe others will love this book and his character. We all like and enjoy different things he need to grovel more 😂 Again overall the book is well written with a great story.
Such a great follow up to 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐈 𝐇𝐚𝐭𝐞. What begins as revenge for Marksen, because Lucian stole his fiancée, transforms into so much more.
I absolutely loved the dynamic between Olivia and Marksen. He took Olivia because she is Lucian's sister and the perfect person to use as a pawn. But she surprised him. 𝑨 𝒑𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒄𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝒓𝒖𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒅 𝒂𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝒂 𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈. From the start their story was dark, twisted and so good. And while the plot was there, the spice was so hot! Safe to say that the authors kept me well and truly hooked.
The story ends with a look into the next book of the series. And now I cannot wait to read it as well!
I wasn’t sure how Marksen was going to redeem himself, but I was kicking my feet when Olivia got her man. I loved the balance of Olivia submitting to the man she’s had her eye on since she was young and fighting the man he had allowed himself to become.
Once she had a string on getting her power back she paused only to take a breath before yanking and untying the knot that formed between two powerful families. I cannot wait for Harrison’s story!
