“Uncle’s Little Secret” is Emery Croft’s recent release and is 113 pages of pure taboo. Alexis is sent to stay with her Uncle Harley due to some family circumstances. There is hostility between the two—mainly coming from Alexis, giving off the vibe that she doesn’t want to stay in conditions that are beneath her. Smexual tension, though, is replaced. All the arguments they have are pushed aside.
”Uncle’s Little Secret” is not a dark read. It is lighter than Emery Croft’s other books—not in terms of smex scenes but in terms of darkness. I liked this one. I thought it had a good story showing how Alexis initially changed from being the snobby girl to contributing to the household and caring for others towards the end. She learns a lot about herself and some lies hidden from her about her family. There’s also a “what did we do/this is wrong” moment that sometimes is missing from some taboo novellas.
There are lots of graphic smex that are on point and super hot.
I received a copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

What in the actual fuck? First of all this book needed an editor big time. But worse than that was just the book itself. Did some high schooler write this for a school project with the help of ChatGPT?! The dialogue in the writing was just so cringe. Who even talks like that? We didn’t really get an ending or an epilogue which would’ve helped it only slightly. It was a hot mess y’all.
A ratos.
Nope. I don’t usually let negative reviews sway me—if a book catches my interest, I’ll give it a fair shot. But honestly, the reviewers nailed it this time.
Enjoyed the book but there was a lot of spelling mistakes within the first 40 pages which kind of took me out of the story but well written none the less
