Karla Gracey was born with a very creative imagination and a love for creating stories that will inspire and warm people's hearts. She has always been attracted to historical romance including mail order bride stories with strong willed women. Her characters are easy to relate to and you feel as if you know them personally. Whether you enjoy action, adventure, romance, mystery, suspense or drama- she makes sure there is something for everyone in her historical romance stories!
The storyline was exciting. Two people who worked together, one a doctor and the other a nurse-Matthew and Rachel. The descriptions of the community of Eagle Creek, Montana, made me feel as though I was there. The characters were down to earth, flaws and all.
There are lies and heartache, but followed by love, support, and forgiveness. A good read.
I received a complimentary copy from the publisher; a positive review is not required. All opinions are my own.
Another great Eagle Creek story. This is Doctor Mattheew's and Nurse Rachel's story. They both come to Eagle Creek due to the clinic there needing help in the influenza pandemic. Rachel is wanting to stop moving around but Matthew thinks he has to keep moving but never wants to tell anyone why. Many couples in Eagle Creek found their mate through the mail so there comes a little bet that Matthew could find love and get married within a year through the mail he doesn't think so, but he takes the bet. He just wants this pandemic to end so he can move on. which he does after he loses his trust in Rachel for something outside of the medical field. Can that trust be restored, and he find peace in his soul and finally settle down and be at home? Grab the book, it will hold your attention from the start. You just might find yourself caught up in the story and feeling you are right there in the middle of it wanting to knock some sense into a person or two.
I love this series! Karla Gracey writes the BEST western series. I love how she engages characters from previous books, it always feels like “coming home” to read them. This one adds Dr. Matthew Inglis, who has quite the back story. You don’t learn until a little ways in what happened in his childhood but it was a very rough one. He has also been a doctor in the war. He’s seen a lot, and has a ton of experience. Now he’s out of the service and has agreed to take a temporary place at Eagle Creek, where he meets Rachel. Rachel grew up in a big family of seven children, and she is a nurse who has also served in the military. This is their story, amidst the beautiful and loving town of Eagle Creek. Always looking forward to the next book in the series! I hope you enjoy, and if you haven’t read the others, I encourage you to do so.
Matthew comes to the small town of Eagle Creek as a temporary doctor during an influenza outbreak and meets Rachel a temporary nurse. They work with the town's doctor and nurse, Andrew and Maud. It's a very intense period but they get through it. Matthew finds that his friends all got their wifes through the mail order ads and they make a bet to get Matthew a bride the same way. The bet was substantial and the wife of the bet maker asks Rachel to help her. Rachel becomes Caitlyn and Matthew enjoys her letters more than any one knows. Because of his past he nevers stays in one place very long. We find through the stories he finally lets someone know his whole story. Eventually everything works out for the best. I received an ARC and this is my hones review.
Rachel and Matthew are amazing characters in this story. They both share a gift of taking care of others, he as a doctor and Rachel as a nurse. After working in the military hospitals they finally meet working at a clinic during an influenza outbreak. Rachel has fallen in love with the town and its inhabitants and would like to make her home there. Matthew really enjoys the town and the friendships he has developed, but he also feels that he needs to keep moving on. He and Rachel are attracted to each other but will secrets destroy the development of their relationship? Don’t miss the opportunity to read this story!
I love visiting Eagle Creek and catching up with old friends, but it’s hard when it is because the town is have a major medical emergency. Influenza could wipe out large numbers of residents. Dr. Matthew Inglis and nurse Rachel Falmer have come to help in the emergency, giving much-needed help to the local doctor and nurse. Both have enjoyed the mobility of being with the army, but Rachel is ready to settle down and Matthew doesn’t feel he can do that. Their story is compelling, and you’ll be reluctant to set your book aside. I really enjoyed this book.
Every new book in the Eagle Creek Brides series is my favorite and this one is no different! Ms. Tracey has a knack for bringing her characters to life and Rachel and Matthew are no exceptions. Join them, Dr. Andrew and Nurse Maid in the Eagle Creek Clinic as they take on the daily trials of running a medical clinic while hiding secrets that could have long lasting effects, not only in the clinic but in all of Eagle Creek! You'll be glad you did!
I loved the characters in this book. It was also great to see other residents of Eagle Creek in this story. I really enjoyed the story. There is romance, lies, twisst, and turns. What more do you need.

The latest in this series has given me insight into myself. Living can be hard. Trusting is the one thing most of us struggle with. This book gave us a wonderful example of how we change when we learn to trust.
This was an awesome book and what a fantastic author. I highly recommend this book and author. I can’t wait to read the next book by this wonderful author.
Another winning book by this author. I have not been disappointed yet. I was swept up by the new characters and the old ones from the series. My emotions were all over the place, right along with Rachel and Matthew. They had a lot obstacles and demons to overcome and it filleted my heart. Finding new love is a whole new level when you can do it in a wholesome way.
