SABURO (三郎) narrates moments from the lives of three generations of Nikkei (japaneses living outside Japan and their descendants) in the Amazon (from the author's grandfather, his father, and in part himself). This captivating book highlights the saga of Japanese immigration, with a special focus on the group known as Kōtakusei - students graduated from the Higher School of Colonization of Japan. Explore the motivations that brought them to Brazil, the challenges they faced, and their incredible journey of adaptation in a completely new land. Discover the pivotal role they played in the history of their descendants and in the construction of modern Brazil. This publication is also the winner of the Professor Benedito Nunes Prize, an honor granted biannually to the best thesis in the field of Humanities, of the Universidade Federal do Pará (Pará's State University), located in the north of Brazil.
