I loved this gothic tale. I loved some of the characters and detested some others - the mark of a good story! Bravo, New. I'm looking forward to what you do next!

If you were to combine Bridgerton and Wuthering Heights, you’d have something close to Amissis Liberis by Sarah R. New. This novella is a warning about how unchecked abuse, family feuds, toxic gossip, and the pressures of society can all lead to irreversible and devastating consequences. I personally found the story riveting and dread-inducing, the exact reaction a well-written horror novel should evoke. I read this in a couple of days, reluctant to part with the story even when life demanded it, despite being absolutely terrified while reading it. New is a talented writer, and I can’t wait to see where her career goes from here.
