Coming into this series 12 books in, I felt like I was trying to catch up and took awhile to connect. Not sure again if it's due to being new to the series but people blaming Ms. Berry for the death of the local politician, just because she is in the food industry, when she wasn't even present or catering the event, made no sense to me.
For her to be so involved with the investigation putting her life on the line as she is attacked and almost killed should never even been required. Also am confused as to why Zoey is always scaring the daylights out of Kylie.

Has Kylie met her biggest case yet? Will she solve it?
A mayoral wanna be is running against.the long time Mayor! Kylie has to finds murderer but it is like finding a needle in a haystack. Too many people hated the victim and nobody will talk! Who keeps trying to kill Kylie? Can she find the killer before it is too late? Read the book to find out! The author owes it to the readers to do a better job of editing her books! Misspellings, driving a car she doesn't have, and lack of grammatical checking is just careless and thoughtless to expect her readers to put up with!
The town starts to avoid Kylie's perfect biscuits and gravy (which seems like a crime in itself) and when she finds out why she knows she has to investigate to clear her name and cooking reputation. There were a lot of twists and turns that kept me guessing until all was revealed. This book in the series can be read as a standalone. Do not read if you are hungry!.

Book 12 of the Kylie Berry series takes a turn from the usual books of the series. Starting very confusing with no one wanting to eat at The Berry Home and never explained why thus getting Kylie into the case out of no where. There were moments of “what is going on” and parts that made no sense at all. The ending was lacking an its usual excitement and can be seen as confusing.
I keep searching for the laugh out loud humor but its just not there. It would be nice if Kylie spent more time in the kitchen and there was more info about the food served , especially with the new bakery coming. Maybe focus a little more on the cooking part at first before dropping the murder in. Just an idea. Oh and more romance, especially between Kylie and Brad!
A catering event gone wrong leads Kylie and her best friend, Zoey, investigating the collapse of a mayoral candidate. So many potential suspects make for lots of false leads and some tense situations. A fun and entertaining book.

a restauranteur faces blame gor culinary death completely unconnected to her or her business
her sleuthing takes her through some complicated romance and personal issues- like some horrible exes, worse relationship hangovers, and lingering phobias and regrets - and brings business challenges unearned by her cooking and culinary skills
I love every book this author has ever written. This is a great series starring Kylie Berry who has taken over a restaurant from a friend and has absolutely no baking skills whatsoever. The cast of characters in this book are amazing and they all interact so much together. W hen Zoey, Agatha and Kylie team up they are unstoppable. I love all the mysteries in this series.
This was a cozy mystery with interesting characters. The story follows Kylie who is in a bit of a bother after the death of a local politician. She then teams up with her friends to unravel the mystery and clear her name.
Already looking forward to the next visit to the Berry Home diner/ restaurant and all the characters therein. Always fun watching Kylie and Zoey on another case.
