Planted Bonds: (The High Council Witch Academy Book 4)
Planted Bonds: (The High Council Witch Academy Book 4) ~~ Book 4 digs its roots deep — literally and magically. Planted Bonds takes the concept of bonding into new territory, weaving nature magic, growth, and legacy into the story. What I enjoyed most here was how much the characters have grown since the first book. The heroine is no longer stumbling through initiation — she’s stronger, wiser, but still caught in impossible choices about loyalty and destiny. The “planted” element of the bonds was clever, tying in both earth-magic visuals and the idea of seeds being planted for the future — not all of them safe. This book had some of the best balance of action, magic, and character revelations so far. By the end, it felt like we were seeing not just the Academy but the entire High Council world begin to blossom into something much bigger.
I recieved an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion Okay, so the Battle of Four- we now have our answer to why it happened. These covens have so many trust issues- some clearly warranted- but Mae managed to do the impossible, albeit after a few false starts. This book kept everyone rather busy. It featured 2 magically induced disasters, a couple of backstabbing incidents, a monster (of the non-human variety)...wait 2, a stowaway (who definitely saved some butts), new faces (I may have wanted to smack), a chance to get to know some old ones better, and ....well, I won't spoil the ending. With each page, I laughed, growled and groaned in frustration with Mae through this book. Given the ending, I'm curious to see how it plays forward.
Usually, a book’s climax is near the end of the story. The whole book felt like the climax! There was so much on the line; at risk and in danger, practically all throughout the book. Would Mae and friends survive their errand? Would Aunt Adeline live? Would there be another war? Would Beck get disgusted at Mae’s secrets and break up with her? Would Mae be in trouble with the High Council for breaking her oath? To find out, you must read this book in the excellent and exciting series.
Sorry but I just couldn't even finish the series. The plot was weak and the terms were too strange and just weird. The characters were the only saving thing
