Write his name in red and say it three times, he will come to protect you through whatever means necessary...
While being attacked by bullies, transgender student Becky tries to use the urban legend of Adam Darklight to protect her from them and the end-results are a nightmare of bloodshed and carnage!
This extreme horror short story contains graphic bullying, SA, gore and violence; reader discretion is advised!
I loved this concept. Like Candyman for the transgender community. Really great idea! However, everything was so rushed and breezed over, that none of the incredibly sensitive plot points had their desired effect. I didn’t care, at all, for how this was written. The brevity, poor pacing, underdeveloped story, etc, just all left a sour taste in my mouth. Honestly would have given a lower rating, but the premise was too good to knock this down much further. This needed to be much longer to have the right approach and bring this wonderful new horror character to fruition.
Cultural mythology, urban legend, warning, promise; everything about this is the campfire story we needed. I would recommend this book to any fan of extreme horror or splatterpunk. The writing is good, the author is prolific, and I haven't read 1 story from Jerry that I didn't like. Give it a whirl!
An urban legend reminiscent of Bloody Mary but make it Adam Darklight. This story was brutal and sad but in the end it was very satisfying to see the bullies get what they deserved.
It’s a quickie clocking in at 17 pages. Give it a read!
Listen to me. As soon as I found a free version of this book, I went immediately to get another free version of this short story. It was worth the hour it took me to read it twice, and all 0 dollars I spent on the kindle version. I am trans myself, and this book is so campy that I immediately told every single trans person I am friends with about this story. I downloaded drawing software so that I could start making content. I am the sole Adam Darklight truther. Truly this short story answers the question no one asked "what if Jeff the Killer was trans?" and answers the question the way only a cisgender person could. Adam Darklight, the creepypasta himself, is described as having ace bandages around his torso. His hair was reportedly shorn carelessly with shears. Out of three transgender characters in these 17 pages, only one of them was not sexually assaulted (to our knowledge.) The way that slurs are used in this short story is fascinating. The words used by the trans people to describe themselves very much felt like someone who has only just now been introduced to the terminology. The gore itself in the book is okay. What I am more interested in is the way that the dialogue progresses, especially in the case of Adam Darklight. The fact that he speaks through "darklight" is very funny to me. I love this story so much. Author Jerry Blaze, if you are reading this, I want you to know that this was an excellent 30 minutes of audible at my customer service job. My coworker kept asking me what the hell I was laughing at. I do not mean this in a mean way, I am genuinely delighted by this story.
I received Dark Lights by/from Jerry blaze for an honest review. This was a great short story from Jerry. It is about an author who goes out one night to see if he can make a quick buck selling a few books and ends up coming face yo facewith his darkest fear and memories. This was a bit of a departure from his standard work in that it lacked sex and over the top violence but it was packed full of feelings. It had a great story that i couldn't help but be pulled into. Total 4 star read for me.
