This is a book that I offered to review from FB and part of the reason was that the non-related attacks on the comments for it offering to the reader was so strong that it made me wonder what could be so bad with the book. As a result the work of the trolls kind of backfired if you would.

Anyway Pleasing God is a book that helps the Christian reader to start taking a look deeper at the Word of God and to see what God really wants from us while using those mentioned gifts to further one's relationship instead of trying to guess what else may please Him. As a result the reader will be reminded about having faith, fearing God, not pleasing flesh or man, giving thanks and praying for people just to mention a few topics.

The chapters are actually rather short in a sense and the writing easy-to-read as well as follow along. Each chapter starts off with the name of the gift that would please God, a colored photograph and a verse underneath. From there the reader is then provided with a bit of an introduction summary, an explanation of said gift, what to do the action may suggest and the weapons that a Christian may find in their arsenal from God. And depending upon the chapter there may be provided various blessings that may result, different ways to met that gift or summaries of words that may be not taken at a deeper value. All of these subjects are clearly delineated from each other with sub-titles to help clarify the chapter information.

My only main complaint is the fact that the author chose to take part of the text out and use it as quotes throughout the chapter. Since the majority of the book is text it doesn't clarify the information to the reader but instead makes it a bit more cluttered in my opinion since it is so similar to the rest of the text although slightly bigger.

The only reason that I provided this book with a 3-star rating is since there was some information belief-wise I don't quite agree with but the rest of the book otherwise hit right on the money. It does still provide the Christian reader with food for thought and a encouraging push to have them not take the word of the author but to instead delve into their own Bible studies to see what other suggested gifts that God did mention that we should try to incorporate into our lives.

***I received a free copy to read of this book in exchange for an honest review.***

“Pleasing God: 11 Ways to Make Him Smile” by Jun-ho Seo was uplifting, well written, and a quick read. I truly enjoyed the authors practical guidance and personal anecdotes coupled with supporting quotes from scripture.
There were so many things I enjoyed about this book. To narrow down a few, I loved the explanation in layman’s terms of the works of the flesh, the battle between flesh and the spirit, and one of the final chapters which talked about the blessings of pleasing God.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone wanting to strengthen their relationship with God, or to anyone wanting to better understand how to live a spirit filled life. Hands down 5 stars all the way!

A good sermon series

Wow! As a pastor, I am so surprised and proud of JDSN Seo- JDSN means Korean title of pre-pastor of the Church aka Jeon-do-sa-nim. He summoned pretty vast amount of Biblical insight succinctly. I can use the book as a sermon material right there as soon as upcoming Sunday service. Thank God for giving the young pastor candidate to devote himself pleasing Him. May God bless him and accept his stewardship as a pleasant gift.

Biblical Truths

This book outlined some basic tenets that the Bible teaches to live a godly life. Framed as the 11 ways to please God, it's a reminder that distilled down to its most basic, we are called to love God first. It's a good discussion that stays close to Biblical text. A good reference for Bible teachers and everyday evangelists.

Inspiring Book

This book is a great resource for Bible studies. It covers Biblical topics in a way that is inspiring and easy to comprehend. The author outlines a path to live in a way that pleases God rather than man. I especially liked the Tug of War analogy between the spirit and flesh.

In the novella, “Pleasing God:11 Way to Make Him Smile”, author Jun-ho Seo, lays out a plan from scripture for your faith. From forgiveness, living a joyful life, being grateful, loving your neighbor, and most importantly, “ living to make Him Smile”. I love how Pleasing God discusses the love of the Heavenly Father and how he wants us to live. He protects from people and things. And watches every step of the way. Also, acknowledge him everyday, hour, minute, and second of our lives. God bless the author.
