Ship? Destroyed. Core? Inactive. Friends and family? Unavailable.

Alex faces the consequences of her choices on a ship full of strangers. Forced to confront a civilization built on the regulation of her kind, she has to learn and adapt to situations she never imagined. Some see her as the key to breaking a decades-old stalemate, others as a threat that will ignite the fires of war once more.

But all Alex wants is her sister and NAI companion back.

Meanwhile, Starlight Revolution must manage the aftermath as best they can to rebuild, repurposing available resources while reaffirming their status as a budding system power fit to endure both military and corporate interests. And hopefully keep their status as possessors and producers of regulated, mostly illegal technologies from getting too many people killed or worse…

Hope and trust. The foundation of all enterprise. No more daunting a task than to rise again, foundation cracked.

Simple reason why this series went from 4 (something) to 5 (roughly) then back down to 4 (something, 4.3): there were multiple story-lines, and one of the main characters from the first & second book had a very reduced part to play in this book . Specifically, though, the lowering was because one of those multiple story-lines I, quite frankly, didn't care in the least about. And every time that story-line popped up, I'd start speed reading (and/or skipping paragraphs).

Otherwise a satisfying continuation of the series. Which I read immediately after it came out. It was purely an accident that book three arrived, was published, seemingly moments after I found then read book 1 & 2. Book 4, which I've already pre-ordered, doesn't come out until, I believe, the beginning of 2025.

You're better off tipping Novelcrafter because that's the program which actually wrote it. Author has been open about using Ai to write for them.

Worst Installment So Far (Continue? Maybe...)

This book was a severe letdown compared to the previous two books. While there was enough good content to keep me interested, this book was close enough to bad enough to make me abandon the series.

The Good:
Main character appears to be maturing (and learning to function on her own). The cores left behind (as main character finds herself) continue their growth and it's interesting. The additional avatars (and their expanded abilities) are interesting as well.

The Bad:
The main character goes to "bootcamp" to find herself. That's fine...if the boot camp was interesting or offered anything to the story arc. For the vast majority of the story, it doesn't. I tried to slog through the boot camp scenes, but found my eyes crossing quite often. Honestly, this story needed a good edit. An excellent editor probably would have cut the story in half. This is probably more noticeable to me because the previous stories were very well written and compressed.

Very minor spoiler: MilTech (the company that helped Alex get acclimated) is unceremoniously absorbed into Alex's company. Then, the owner of MilTech is unceremoniously killed off in what was essentially, "All of the MilTech workers died."

Observation:
The lesbian love triangle is a solid pass for me. Interestingly, the only love interests in this story are female. Further, almost all non-female characters are ignored, killed off, or left behind. Every author is entitled to their own preferences on character choices. But, the disparity in this area is...a choice.

I'm not going to stop reading, but it definitely makes me a little wary of the story moving forward.

While I understand this isn't explicitly a progression fantasy I was really invested in a sense of progression through the first two books and taking all of that away was a blow to my enjoyment of this entry.

Couple that with way too many chapters about characters I am not invested in makes this the weakest entry in the series. There is basically an entire book in there about some random, personalityless Lieutenant that I was never once connected to in any meaningful way. We spend time with the villains, we spent times with the weird alien sub core, we spend time with the boring business manager who is only fun to read when Abbey is doing the lifting. None of these characters are why I'm reading this book.

The multiple perspectives were kind of distracting. It felt more like two separate books where you read a few chapters of one before switching to the other. When having multiple perspectives they should enhance each other in someway or at least combine back together by the end of the story if not. So you had a continuation of the main story with Alex and then a spinoff with Healer, Amy, and Abby playing Halo CE. Both fun, but when you switch every other chapter it brings you out of the story.

Didn't expect that

After the first couple of books, this was an interesting turn. Things took a bit of a wild turn at the end of the last book, and this book saw Alex in a much less certain place without the resources she had built up over the last couple of books.

That said, I enjoyed this book and the different trajectory its narrative took. Looking forward to the next!

This is great!

I binged to this book over the weekend and only stopped because the 4th is not out yet. I get the feeling that the author got inspiration for this series from dungeon core stories, but it feels more like a regular sci-fi with anime influence than a lit-rpg.
But, if you like lit RPG, then you probably will really like this story as well.

More excitement than you can shake a stick at

After reading this book, I feel like I have binge watched an entire season. The action gets intense and the into of new characters has deep impacts. We learn more about our main character and the children she has spawned. More questions still to be answered. I'm looking forward to the next book.

Every book is so awesomely unique

Every book in this series is well written and keeps you on your toes. Not only that but location, stakes, plot, all the books are so unique and bring you in a completely differently cool direction! Also the characters are so cute

I thoroughly enjoy this series! Interesting that she is OMEGA, but not as experienced as others. She has friends and sticks with them. We get to watch her evolve to be more. She was equal to the princess even without using a shipcore computer to assist. I want to see her change her friend from a CHI to more!

Wow!

Now that's how you end a book! I won't dare to spoil an ending, but wow!
This book was well worth the wait!
I hope the series stays this engaging, and I love the character depth

very good series. The third book got a little slow, but it is a good story. I can't wait until she can get her computer cores back.

Not what I expected

This certainly went out on left field. It was a great book that just completely went in a different direction. Excited for the next book.
