David's short science fiction, fantasy and horror has appeared in over eighty markets, including Clarkesworld, Lightspeed, Nightmare and Beneath Ceaseless Skies. A number of his dark fantasy tales have been collected as The Sign in the Moonlight and Other Stories.
Humorous comics are hard to do. So many funny books are just not funny. Unfortunately, Endangered Weapon B falls into the not very funny category. The elements for funny are there, but the stories are so shallow and so underdeveloped that all the humorous parts seem forced and rushed. There is no lead-in or build up, and comedy needs some depth.
This is a quick and silly read about a crazed inventor, his brilliant female technician (and unwilling fiance), and his mechanized bear (think Ripley's power armor, with a bear in it) as they tussle with... ninja squids... It's as weird as it sounds, but has a lot of fun being weird, so it gets a pass. All kinds of silly, with decent art and not a whole lot of depth, it's a pure flight of fancy that goes off the rails occasionally, but works most of the time, and is short enough that it doesn't overstay its welcome.
