I have the honor of knowing and being friends with the author. With that said, I am amazed and in awe with how vulnerable Brandon has been in his book. While the content of the book is not an easy read, Brandon has written it in a way that is not overwhelming and keeps you reading. There were many cliff hangers at the end of chapters that had me wondering, "What is he going to have to go through next?" However, what as most impressive was Brandon's ability to write his story in a way that even though you were horrified by what one individual has had to endure, you ultimately feel impressed, uplifted, and inspired.

At the end of his book, Brandon says he thinks his book is for anyone who finds themselves going through a difficult time or looking for hope, but I don't think that is accurate...I think everyone should read his story. Life is messy, and while I can honestly say my life is a piece of cake compared to what Brandon has been through; I think everyone can relate to questioning who they are, who they want to be, and what they want to leave in the world.

I picked up this book and could not put it down in 2 days. Brandon’s story is so inspiring and had me laughing, in tears, smiling, and nervously biting my nails throughout the story. While I’m expecting a boy of my own, to hear what he and his family went through to keep him going in life just really hit a soft spot for me. This was such a great read and left me feeling like even I could push myself to reach my goals! Loved it!
