No longer an heir. No longer a daughter. No longer a Crow.
Now, I am a wife. An accessory. A toy.
Ripped away from the men I love, they want to break me. Strip away everything that made me into who I am, and create something new.
I was Caterina Corvo. But now, I am Caterina Asante.
For them, I will fight. For her, I will endure. But every day, it becomes harder to remember who I used to be. This is not a battle that can be won with knives and bullets.

While there were still some moments that I really liked in this book, a lot of it was a let down. I wasn’t a big fan of where the author decided to take the story. This series started with a pretty well set up system of families and dynamics that was politically intriguing. It all came crumbling down in this book. It’s whittled down to one big bad guy that’s bad for the sake of being bad. No depth, no webs that need to be carefully undone and a very obvious good side verses bad side.
What may be even worse, is that we started with a really strong, intimidating female lead, and she became a shell of what she was in this book. I think it was a disservice to her character to give her the held captive plot line. It is overused to begin with but it also stripped away everything that made her so great. I do appreciate that the darker themes were dealt with sensitivity. The author didn’t romanized it and didn’t linger for shock value. Although, I do believe some of it didn’t need to be added as it was avoidable and didn’t add anything to the story.
I do like all of the characters. All the main guys are willing to do anything to get her back. I wish that the romances weren’t such a fast burn though. Everything is fast and deep and gives off a more telling than showing effect. I need to read the actions that show the love to believe it rather than them just telling me.
This book should have been cut in half, timeline wise and page length wise, and added to the beginning of the next book. It dragged for way too long. I really liked the first two books and I’m still hopeful for the next one so I’m just marking this one down as the cursed filler book in the series.
Have you ever read something that just made you feel every emotion that a human being can feel? that’s exactly what will happen when you read this book. This series has held a chokehold on me since I read the first page of book one and today when I received an email letting me know that book 3 was available for me to read before the world….I damn near shat myself.
I actually fell asleep, and I didn’t expect that I was going to read this book but when I remove myself from my couch and put myself to bed, I couldn’t help but just take a peek and see where my favorite little crow was and well I quickly realized that sleep would have to wait Because after that devastating cliffy from book two, I needed to know what happened to Caterina Corvo and her men and I d e v o u r e d this book.
There is so much i want to say about this book but i dont want to share too much. If you read the first two, you know whats happening. Read this. And message me so we can throw a fit and maybe cry together.
Fair warning, this book is not for the faint of heart. I don’t think that Evelyn wants to hurt us but her actions in this book say otherwise. I don’t like spoilers but when I say that you are going to feel very strongly about the events that are going to take place in this book and you might want to throw your Kindle or other reading device across the room.
Things i loved: 🐦⬛Caterina Corvo- she is and will forever be at the top of the list of my favorite FMCs. I am o b s e s s e d with her. She is strength personified and I cannnnnnot wait for her to get her rehvenge on everyone. Because I believe in this bish and i want nothing but the absolute best for her.
🖤The guys, obvs. But here’s the thing what I love about the guys is that they never gave up.
🤌🏻The loyalty
Rating: Infinity stars. The galaxy. The universe.
Ps. There is some spice but you will understand why this book is like a 2 on the spice scale and you will still love it. Everything happens for a reason.
Thank you so much for the ARC copy. This one was hard for me to read and why it took months to start. I knew what Cat and her men would go through. The torture and hurt. It made me so mad for them.
I had some issues with this book. Literally nothing important happens until the very end. Cat had one chance to escape that hell hole and her drug/r@pe fest she was going to go through very soon. Stefano literally risked a lot of shit to get you out so you didn't have to go through that. And this bitch turns around and goes back because she 'wasn't finish'. It is 100% Cat's character to not give up. But that made me mad. I'm still upset it took over 100 days for all of her men to finally rally and get her and her daughter out. They pretty much had 4 armies, all Stefano had to do was send them blueprints to his house so they could infiltrate? Really? You couldn't have done that oh I don't know almost 100 days ago!?!? You literally saw what your uncle was doing to Cat and you didn't think of doing any of this sooner. Man that really grinned my gears that they took that long.
I'm glad that Cat got her revenge. We weren't told what she did with her husband's body but I guess we assume she cut his d!ck off and shoved it in his mouth before killing him? That's what happened in my mind. As far as romance, not much happened but somehow Stefano and Cat fell in love and she took his virginity. Somehow I still get confused between her men. This whole series was kinda insta love but the angst comes from them not actually being in a relationship. Honestly, I don't even know how I feel at this point.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
The cliffhanger for these books are killing me. Though I'm not a fan of this one or the last one, the cliffhanger is what is making me pick up the next and final book! Now, I have the same critique for madness of crows as I had for Mayhem of Crows. Absolutely nothing happened. It was more filler, more telling not showing, and the subplot with Asante? Nothing was shown. None of it made sense and it barely tied into the overall plot until the end. Even then, it wasn't good enough. I'm really disappointed in how this series is turning out for me because I was a huge fan of book 1.
I read this whole book with my heart hammering in my chest. Holy moly, it’s a hard one. It's even darker than the first two books, and the heartache is unmatched.
Not as bad a cliffhanger as books one and two. There is actually some hope that they will all get their HEA in the end.
There is very little spice - the plot doesn't allow for it. You won't miss it, though.
Kidnapping and forced separation is one of my least favourite tropes. And this one last til the end of the book. It was such a hard read. All of them went through hell and back in different ways. I hope that this brittle family can pull through and finally take Matteo out and get their hard earned HEA.
Another roaring success from Evelyn with A Madness of Crows; the third book in the Mafia University series. The men in these book are perfection with their undying loyalty and the fact they never give up 🤩 This book definitely takes you to hell and back but it’s oh so worth it. I can’t wait to see where we go with the next book.
Oh my goodness, I can barely contain my emotions with the incredible amount of suspense and drama packed into every single page! The intensity of the storyline had me on the edge of my seat throughout the entire book!!!
This was an absolutely gut-wrenching yet brilliantly crafted story that left me emotionally drained in the best possible way. My feelings of pure hatred toward Salvatore and Matteo grew more intense with each chapter, making their villainous roles perfectly executed. The ending was absolutely perfect, delivering exactly what the story needed, and now I'm practically counting down the days until I can get my hands on the next installment of this series.
What really stood out to me was how the author masterfully prioritized the intricate storyline and deep emotional development over the spicier elements. The emotional depth was so powerful that I found myself wiping away tears during most of my reading sessions, completely invested in every character's journey.
One of the most compelling aspects was finally getting to peel back the layers of Stefano's character and truly understand who he is beneath his carefully crafted exterior. The depth of his feelings for Cat became crystal clear through his willingness to sacrifice everything for her safety and happiness - it was both beautiful and heartbreaking to witness.
On a side note that absolutely needs to be mentioned - watching Luc's emotional journey and witnessing his pain throughout this story absolutely shattered my heart into pieces. His suffering felt so real and raw.
I devoured this series, I literally read the three books in one day, my nerves are shot to hell and I couldn’t ask for anything more other than the last book of this series.
This book was pain and misery in words, all of them were miserable, drowning is self loathing and guilt and I really don’t know how they’re going to build their family with all of their mental and emotional states blown to smithereens.
For the love of God, all of the characters are going to get killed for their hearts and codes of honor but specifically Caterina Corvo.
I loved the addition of Stefan, I think he’s the cinnamon roll that was missing and I really hope he doesn’t withdraw in the next book.
I’m really worried about their relationship dynamics as a harem because right now only Stefan and Gio are the more sane one’s. Because Dante hates everyone, Dom and Luc are going to be buried under guilt and self loathing, and honestly Cat is also going to be in a terrible mental headspace but I’m hopeful they get they’re happily ever after.
I hope in the next book we see more of Alessia and moments of them just playing hose and breathing for like two seconds because they really deserved it.
Honest to God Evelyn you cannot kill any of the MMC’s just no. Please and thank you.
A Madness of Crows is the third book in the Mafia University series by Evelyn Flood. This dark why choose mafia romance will keep you on the edge of your seat and your mind reeling!!
“Caterina Corvo has a habit of collecting hearts, wherever she goes.”
After the ending of the last book I was straight into this one cause I thought for sure I was imagining things but no! Wow this one just went from 10 to 1000 miles a minute and I genuinely did not expect any of the events in this book.
“I would have liked a lifetime with you, Caterina Corvo. To break all of the rules.”
I loved that we finally got to see more of Stefano, though not under great circumstances but still. The things that all of the characters go through gave me all the feelings! I could not put this book down and finished it in a few hours, I was hooked!
This one is definitely the darkest of the books so far (Check TWs) but this was the turning point in all of the characters stories and that ending!!
4.5 ⭐️ Omg the emotions I felt in this book, my heart broke for everything Caterina went through! She’s one of my all time favourites FMC’s ❤️ Even all her men were suffering! I can’t believe they thought Luc had betrayed them, I know he was loyal from the start! ❤️ I think what happened to Dom affected me the most because he was losing himself ☹️ but poor Dante & Gio too, this honestly just wasn’t their book! Everyone was suffering! I’m so glad that Caterina and Stefano finally got together though ❤️ THE ENDING OMG!!! Yessss, that’s my badass bitch Caterina, the revenge she got was so well deserved again the cow Cecilia and Asante!! Special shout-out to Frankie for being a badass too and returning but where the hell is she? She best be okay!! Also special shout out to Aimee even though I didn’t really like her before this book she was amazing in this, risking everything ❤️ the girl power in this book is incredible ❤️ I can’t wait for the next book ❤️ As always the writing in this book is incredible, made me feel all the feels and had me gripped the entire book!
4.25⭐ - At this point, this series simply has me in a chokehold. My biggest complaint about this book is that it wasn't longer. I would have loveddd for this to be dragged out a little bit more, especially the development of the relationship between Cat & Stefano. But at the same time I can appreciate how these books are fast paced and easy to devour. Stefano has been such an elusive character from the start so it was nice to finally get his POV - I just wanted more! I am so ready for book 4 and for ALL the heirs to f*ck shit up and get their HEA...together 😉
Some highlights:
"I am exactly what they made me. Do not trust me, Caterina. I cannot be your ally and his weapon at the same time. I can't choose you."
"I would have liked a lifetime with you, Caterina Corvo. To break all of the rules."
"You're the only one I've ever wanted."
*Thank you to the author for an eARC. This review contains my honest thoughts and opinions.*
It's so good I'm obsessed with all of the characters and I love how she's building her group of guys as she goes. I don't want to say too much about this book as it will spoil things.
I did rate this one only four stars, where I rated the previous ones five stars. It wasn't that this book wasn't good at all because it's the opposite. It was actually very good but it wasn't the most life-altering book. As Evelyn is trying to get across a lot of important things that need to happen to set up what's going to happen. I feel like in the next book and to further the plot along.
I would highly recommend reading this series. Each book keeps me right on my toes and there have been so many twists and turns. I love Caterina and the guys they're amazing.
A Madness of Crows by @evelynfloodauthor 5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Review: There are no words for how obsessed I am with this series and Cat. Everytime I get finish a book, I wonder how it can get any better, but it does every time. There is so much heartache and start of defeat, that my heart was breaking for Cat. I had no idea what was going to happen and if things were really happening the way I thought they were. I’m so ready for the next book, I just know it will be so amazing.
I absolutely love this series! I would recommend it over and over again. If you are in need for a spicy, mafia reverse harem that makes you feel all of the emotions and keep you on the edge of your seat, this is the one!
All I could think at the end of this was "what was this???". Where was the smart, fierce woman we saw in the first two books? The one who was always several steps ahead and her men just followed her lead as they put it? Instead we get 100+ days of Cat being weak and submissive and a shell of who she was all to "protect the ones she loves " the woman from the first two books would have seen Matteo's plan way ahead of schedule and dealt with him before it came to her being a sex slave wife to Salvatore. I had to skim pages because I couldn't take anymore of the men whining how much they love her but can't get to her followed by Stefano's whining about his rough life followed by Cat just rolling over and accepting her fate for 3/4 of the book. I finished the series because I needed conclusion but had I known this was how books 3 and 4 were going to go I would've saved myself the pain.
Why the hell am I still reading this? I don’t know, except I have to keep going. I NEED to know how this ends.
The first 75% of this book can be summarised in one word: Impotent. The last 25% made up for everything. Seeing it all come together was satisfying in the extreme. Salvatore and his little henchwoman… kill that mofo. The anticipation and buildup was decent 👌🏽 I really liked that everyone contributed to the breakout. I liked that everyone died a little inside. Sounds awful of me, but tbh up to this point they’ve felt like kids playing an adults game. Being in an academy setting and only being heirs instead of the actual rulers contributed to that I’m sure. But mostly the petty squabbles in academy life were just that.
I’m hoping that this last book will show the shift in thinking. I want them to take control of their life. And I want her to be happy dammit.
This book was everything I expected it to be and more. A Madness of Crows really took me on an emotional ride. The way I cried with this one was very unexpected.
We get to see our FMC struggle and then finally break free. I waited for the moment when her strong character will shine trough, and I was not disappointed. There is also multiple POVs for each of the MMC and I loved seeing their character development as well.
Honestly, the ending was so satisfying, that it made waiting for the last book a bit better. If you are looking for a mafia romance that will take you through every emotion possible, then give this one a go. But do read TWs before getting in to it, there is quite some sensitive topics in this one.
I’ve cried for every book in the series but I CRIED for this one. The only reason why I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is not because of it being less than perfect, (the book is almost perfect tbh), nah it’s just cus this was just emotionally torturing from start to finish and it was a lot to handle at a point. Too much emotional distraught in one book, it’s really not for the faint of heart. I’m also a bit upset that after all certain characters did to Cat, that was all they got at the end??? Too merciful, and not up to 1/4 of the pain she went through. It’s very upsetting. Otherwise, this is a 1000000/10 book, with a 5 star plot, 5 star writing and 5 star characters. I’ll just never read this again, can’t go through this again.
I didn’t love this one as much. I feel like an entire book of her being kidnapped and abused didn’t really help develop her character or the story. There were books building up the complexity of the 5 families, her strength and then that’s gone, she’s locked up and the story doesn’t really feel like it moves forward.
It seemed like an entire book to allow for Stefan to explain his backstory and build their relationship but I wish she just had the other 4 guys and we spent the time building on the rest of the story. We lost the momentum from the prior books and it resulted in wasted time here and then in the next book recovering from it.
I had hoped she’d continue to be a badass and escape and save the women, but was disappointed the direction it went having her there for 100 days.
You are destroying me with this series!!! I consumed this book like my life depended on it!! The whole time my heart is just breaking for Cat and all her men! I do love that she managed to add another ‘enemy’ to her harem in this book! I knew he had feelings for her! This is book 3 in the Mafia University series. You do need to read book 1 and 2 to know what’s going on and while the ending is ‘happier’ than the other 2 it’s still not a full HEA, Im so ready for the last book and can’t wait to see how it ends! I can’t wait to see Cat go back to her badass self! Light on spice only 1 scene but the story is just so good!
Overall rating: 4.7/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spicy: 🌶️ 🌶️🌶️ (not much in this book)
You would think by now I’d expect the cliffhanger 😭😭I was so baffled
Caterina Corvo is still continuously going through it in this book. It takes off from where we left off in the second book. We are all still questioning if Luc is alive, where Alessia is, where Stefano’s part in this story is…
Cat is mentally physically and emotionally put to the test, will she came out of it? Will she still be the same as before?
Will the guys be able handle the scars she’s obtained? Can they handle their own?
Definitely check the triggers for this because it is a heavy intense read. The darkness of the series really came out in this but for the development of the story it was very necessary and helped give more understanding to some characters. It also really showed the dedication of Cat’s men and how much she means to them… all of them (harem is finally complete!!). I’m really looking forward to seeing how this war ends and the happily ever after they deserve so much. Great series!
Dark reads aren’t my usual go-to. But I make exceptions for excellence, and this is one such. This book picks up right after the big cliffhanger from the last book, with Cat on the ropes and the men in the wind. This book deals with not-nice things, and if you are easily affected, I would suggest maybe skip this. For the rest, this is an excellent continuation and an engaging read. The pace is gre, the writing clear and the characters nice and strong. Everyone is put through the wringer, and hopefully will come out stronger. I’m really looking forward to the next book
Unfortunately, same critic than for the second book. Huge filler. Nothing happened until the end and it's barely tied to the main plot. Who give a fuck about Asante? I don't even get this sub-plot because we barely read about how Cat is doing at his hands. So why even bother? I'm dreading the last book because I feel like nothing will happen until the end and then we'll get the epilogue. Naming this series "mafia university" was a bait.
