It feels like this book (and its predecessor) isn't as polished as some of Wright's other titles. There are several grammatical errors and it has a very predictable storyline. Some of the situations also come across like 80s episodic moments—a tad contrived (you can almost see the characters laughing together as the plot is summed up into a neat little bow). The overall story is fine, but I like my main characters flawed, but competent. In many scenarios, Burke's actions are both flawed and repetitively foolish, leading him into various situations that seem unlikely. I do like the Christian undertones of his movement towards faith, but there are deeper, more mature ways to get it all across to the reader.
In conclusion, I think the team authoring this book needs more literary maturity, and I'm rooting for them to find it. Definitely a fun read, but there is so much more potential for a series like this.
This book was an absolutely perfect sequel to the first book in this series. You need to have read the first book to understand what is happening in this one. It follows up directly on the events of the first book, and ties everything together neatly. The writing was so good, and evoked a lot of powerful emotions, because you genuinely care about the characters and what is going on. There was also plenty of action and suspense. Simply great, and I can't wait to read the rest of this series.
Long time fan of this fabulous author. This thriller has a worldwide setting. Corruption at highest levels of government. Is this a one off or is there more government officials involved in such underworld pursuits. Human trafficking of the worse kind, illegal arms, revenge, retribution. What more could you want. This writer quickly became one of my favorites with his first published novel. Now, I refuse to miss anything that he writes.
Hard to Kill and hard to believe. At least a SEAL wasn’t involved as Burke is a former member of the elite Air Force special forces, which I’ve never heard of, but he keeps ticking despite being wounded and shot at throughout this book.
Another Secret is about another USA secret unit operating within the Government, carrying out missions against the Constitution of the USA. Missions that are never heard about .
Really great writing. The main character in this book is the hero for setting the wrongs right. Politicians who think they are above the law and are power hungry finally met their match with a special forces hero who delivers justice.
This was quite an interesting book. In many ways it brings up a lot of things that are wrong with politics today. I’m not sure what the solution is. This probably isn’t the best, but it worked in the
Another wonderfully written story of love, fear, corruption and violence in this world. Fast paced and exciting is all I can say. I know you will enjoy it.
