Lia Davis and Lainie Anderson join together to write this new series, Shifters of Stone Creek. Erin is hiding from her past, until she lands in Stone Creek. When Ashton senses that Erin's his mate, he will stop at nothing to claim her. This shifter romance was beautifully written, with great characters. The storyline was original and kept me glued to the pages. I can't wait for book two, My Brother's Alpha Wolf.

I have so many questions
This book started off with a ton of potential. Erin seems like a strong FMC. Her background is interesting and she stands on her own 2 feet in the most stressful situation. She quickly goes downhill as the book progresses before settling into a lackluster FMC. The most nonspoiler example is her reaction from townspeople - she visited for several months and decided to buy property in a town where the community is barely tolerating her? That doesn't sound like an enjoyable place to stay, or like it would be a good tourist destination, which is important for the person who owns the inn. It just doesn't make sense. And then she makes multiple terrible choices, is terrible at communicating, and doesn't really treat Ashton well. She's lucky he doesn't hold a grudge either, since she did absolutely nothing to attempt to redeem herself.
Ashton is 100% a great MMC. His background is interesting, his people are intriguing, and his protective devotion & sweet caring are book boyfriend material. He deserves to be treated better by Erin.
The antagonist plotline is not actually resolved as far as I can tell. I can't tell based on the synopses for books 2 and 3 if there is perhaps a bit more to this plot thread in future books, but it doesn't seem like the actual big boss antagonist is resolved.
The ending feels very rushed; their relationship solidifying feels like Erin taking advantage more than a reasonable progression of their relationship. There are a bunch of threads just flapping about in the wind - the teddy, the roses, the other two guys from Ashton's friend group? So many questions but I don't think I like the author's style enough to get dragged into an incomplete series that she plans on dragging out for 10 books.

This is book one of the Shifters of Stock Creek series and the main characters are Erin Montgomery who is on the run and taken over an inn in this small town, and dragon shifter Ashton Beck, who is awakened early form his cursed slumber when his fated mate is in trouble. Erin ran from the busy streets of Chicago after seeing a mob hit, with an unsuccessful spell in witness protection, she disappeared into this small town, whose inhabitants haven’t exactly made her feel welcome over the last two years. She used her inheritance from losing both her parents, to buy the inn under an assumed name, and is running the Bed & Breakfast with just one helper. She thought her troubled past as behind her and that no one would find her here, but soon finds out this is wrong, as a man kidnaps her and takes her to await his boss, in a run-down cabin far into the mountains. She struggled as much as she could, not wanting to die just yet, but he has tied her to a chair and is enjoying mocking her and talking of what he will do to her when it’s his turn! Her fear and panic awaken Ashton from his slumber in his cave, coming almost at the end of his enforced ten-year sleep that affects all the males of his clan and their ancestors, after a witch was turned down by one of his kind centuries ago.
As Erin struggles to loosen the ropes around her, she and the man who took her, are shocked by the very earth beneath them shuddering, as if from an earthquake. The man goes to look out the cabin door and all Erin can see is a huge dragon, unaffected by the bullets the man fires at it, which is seemingly talking to Erin in her head somehow! Ashton had figured out the pull and urgency he felt as he awoke, was due to him needing to protect his fated mate, something he thought would never happen to him. Once he destroys the man and Erin is free, he flies back to his cave to set up his human persona once more, helped by the supplies left for him by his witch sister Aurelia. He rides his motorbike to the inn, meaning to rent a room, but before he can even do that, he interrupts the mafia man’s boss Vito, who had come to finish off the job and silence Erin forever, but comes off worse when Ashton is around. He knows the police chief in town and calls him to deal with the body in the inn, whilst his sister deals with the cabin site, which Erin hadn’t mentioned, thinking she had been drugged and imagined the dragon! Now Ashton can be close to Erin and try to ease into a relationship with her and to allow her to accept him as her fated mate and to the fact he is also a dragon.
Ashton can sense that there is still danger coming for Erin and he doesn’t want her to be left unprotected. As he works to restart the life, he had to leave behind ten years ago, he has his sister and young female dragon shifter Skye, occupy some of Erin’s time with activities and the offer of friendship. Now that Ashton is awake, the other dragons in his small clan should awaken shortly. In Ashton, we have a man who can cook and who knows how to treat a woman right, no matter how hard his dragon is pushing him to mate with her. He had never expected a human mate and knows he has to go slowly, especially when he reveals the truth about himself and his clan. The town itself has a few more mysteries to reveal, as she finds out it is not quite as normal as she thought and being part of Clan Beck suddenly brings a completely different experience to her interactions with the townsfolk! The reveal is a bit too much and she reacts badly, forcing them apart, but the bond is already growing between them and can’t be denied for long. Ashton will arrive just in the nick of time, as her past catches up with her, and she finds out that the perks of his dragon side are more thrilling than terrifying now. A satisfying HEA ending for the pair, as she discovers just what his abilities are for herself, as she completes the bond between them. Lots more to come from this series and some unusual pairings to look out for.

My Dragon Savior is an amazing dragon shifter romance. I thought author Lainie Anderson and Lia Davis did a wonderful job in the way they wrote Ashton and Erin’s story. I was completely captivated from the beginning to the very end of the story. I couldn’t set the book down before finishing it. My Dragon Savior, I found to be both suspenseful and a page-turner. I fell in love with both Ashton and Erin. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who’s looking for a well-written paranormal romance novel. I can hardly wait to see what will be next.

Lia Davis and Laine Anderson have really written a fabulous book together and I loved how they put the story together. I will be recommending this book to anyone who enjoys reading paranormal books.

Absolutely loved this new series
The Shifters of Stock Creek series is going to be sooo good just based off of Book 1 – Erin, who is on the run from a Chicago based mafia after witnessing something three years ago, has moved to Stock Creek and purchased a bed and breakfast while living off the grid in a sense. But when she is kidnapped from her own yard, she realizes that she is no longer safe, until a dragon (or was that a drug induced illusion?) rescued her. Ashton, who is a dragon shifter, woke up from his 10 year sleep knowing that his mate is in danger. But when he realizes that she is human, he knows he has to tread lightly… especially since he had to save her AGAIN when she returned home to find another mafia man there. He rents a room and gives an excuse about moving back after being gone for 10 years. They begin a relationship and he knows he needs to tell her that 1) she really did see a dragon (him) and 2) she is his fated mate – Yeah, this is going to be an interesting discussion.
Loved this book, and I am absolutely dying to read the rest when they are released!

Ashton, who is a dragon shifter, woke up from his 10 year sleep knowing that his mate is in danger. But when he realizes that she is human, he knows he has to tread lightly… especially since he had to save her AGAIN when she returned home to find another mafia man there. He rents a room and gives an excuse about moving back after being gone for 10 years. They begin a relationship and he knows he needs to tell her that 1) she really did see a dragon (him) and 2) she is his fated mate – Yeah, this is going to be an interesting discussion.
Loved this book, and I am absolutely dying to read the rest when they are released!

Overall the story is not bad, just long and some parts just feel disconnected. Like w/in the same chapter a few hrs or days have passed and it just feels the story is not complete or needs some depth to it.
Erin (We never learn her last name) she had to run away after witnessing a murder by the mob. Since then she has been hiding in Stock Creek, which is surrounded by the magic of shifters. While being in her little B&B Inn she got kidnapped by the mob who wanted to kill her. Out came the Dragon and saved her. Ashton and his clan (which only affects the males) are in some type of a curse where they would go to sleep between 10yrs up to a century. Erin being his mate woke him up from his slumber. He saves her and then decides to stay close to her by staying in the Inn. I wish Ashton could be a little assertive or show some time of emotions like possessiveness or something. Erin makes a lot of careless mistakes and I just didn't like it that much. I am interested in Reading Book 2

Erin is on the run from the mob because she saw a murder had been in witness protection but they found her anyway. Came to Stock Creek bought an inn and felt somewhat safe until she was taken and then tied to a chair to wait for the boss to kill her. Ashton was woken up from his sleep felt Erin’s fear found her got rid of the guy there but she saw him as a dragon. Ashton’s people had been cursed to sleep every 10 years for 10 years but finding her his curse was broken. She got home to find Vito waiting for her but Ashton got there before she was killed and they thought that took care of everything but she found a Teddy bear on her porch with its throat cut. The town had treated her terrible because she was human and didn’t know about shifters, she accepted the mate bite from Ashton.

4.5 since the site won't give half stars
This book is a great start to what I anticipate is going to be another amazing series from these authors.
I love the characters and the story. Our MFC has a history and strength. Our MMC is strong and protective. The secondary characters are fun and adding just the right amount of pop.
What pulled it down a half star for me is the action scenes. They are good, but I know what these ladies are capable of writing (I am currently working my way through the entire literary library), and it just feels a little flat. I'm not sure if it's because I've gotten spoiled from the other works or there is something bigger coming further in the series, but this one just left me wanting a little bit more.
Will it keep me from reading the rest of the books as they come out? Absolutely not!

Who is Erin and what does she do for a living? Who are Mr and Mrs Montgomery? Where are they and what do they want to do? How do they help Erin? Who and what is Ashton? Who is Vito and why is Erin afraid of him? What do we learn about her past? How does Erin deal with seeing a black dragon and two dead bodies? I loved Gavin, Nathan, Aurelia, and Skye! The town's treatment of ERin made me sad for her. I cannot wait to see what happens the next time she goes to the coffee shop after Aurelia's comment about Erin being a friend of the Beck Clan. Who are the next two to wake? Who sent the flowers to the Inn? What happens at the hike into the woods? I loved this first read to the series! Enjoy the read.

Classic shifter fated-mate type story. Hits all the wickets expected for the genre even if there are some odd jumps or hanging threads or elements that don’t entirely make sense. Like Nyx seems to appear and then disappear. Or Ashton is so concerned for Erin and doesn’t want to leave her unprotected, but then everyone disappears and leaves her completely alone for 3 days. And in between those, there’s the teddy bear and the roses, both of which come into play as question marks, and neither of which is ever really explained. But, whatever. Answers to that sort of question would make this a better or even great book in the genre, but they aren’t exactly the reason to keep turning the pages, so not getting them is survivable.

My Dragon Savior is a sweet, small-town shifter romance with a soft gray subplot but still guaranteed to place a smile on your face and have you swooning over the MMC.
I had no idea what to expect from this story, however, I loved every moment except one. I am selfishly sad that it wasn't longer. I simply did not want it to end. On one hand, I loved the quicker pacing and the ability to read this in an afternoon, but on the other hand, I couldn't get enough of the characters and wanted to keep reading more of their story. With that being said, I will certainly be devouring the next installments focusing on the other shifters and their small-town secrets.

My Dragon Savior by Lia Davis and Lainie Anderson is a small town shifter romance. This is the first book in the Shifters of Stone Creek series.
This is the first book of Lia and Lainie’s that I have read and it won’t be my last. I really enjoyed the slow burn romance between Ashton and Erin. They are fated mates but Ashton took his time courting her. I loved getting both of their points of views throughout the book.
I can’t wait for the next book in the series My Brother’s Alpha Wolf to be released on January 29, 2025 so I can get Nathan and Rissa’s story.
I would recommend this book if you’re looking for a slow burn romance, small town romance, or a paranormal romance.

Erin and Ashton were amazing in this story. First one for the start of this series and it hits the ground running. Erin heads to stone creek for a new start at life after escaping assume really bad people. She settles in even though the townspeople don’t really tolerate her. She thinks it’s because she’s hiding secrets. Well, little dues she know, the town is also home to dragon shifters. And she just happens to be Ashtons fated mate. Ashton just has to figure out two things. Ho to tell her he’s a dragon shifter, and that she’s his mate. This story was so good, so much fun. Filled with danger and more. An absolute must read.

Wonderful start to the series! Erin and Ashton‘s journey was thrilling and passionate. Erin is on the run from a mob boss who puts out a hit on her after witnessing a murder on the streets of Chicago. Ashton is a dragon who has been slumbering for 10 years and is awakened by his fated mate’s, Erin, fear. This starts off a chain of events that will blow you away. I can’t wait for the second book of the series!!

This was a low angst dragon story…..with, of course, a happy ending. It could be a stand alone, but I’m guessing each book has individual couples , but the background story is the same and builds with each book

Loved this exciting dragon romance. While Erin thought she was finally safe from the mafia mob, she was proven wrong and the only one who could save her was Ashton, her fated mate who woke when she was threatened. Anticipation over her decision to accept his mating kept me inthralled and eager for the moment.

Girl on the run finds love in the small town she’s hiding out in. But wait there’s more. The town is home to shifters. Erin has always felt like an outsider in Stock Creek but she figures it’s because she’s keeping secrets. When her past comes back to haunt her a dragon-shifter comes to save her (insert hot joke here) and claims her heart in the doing. This was a fast-paced entertaining read.

Shifters feel good romance: Life happens to Erin and she is forced on the run. Hiding and trying to be safe - her past catches up and whilst in danger again - her fear awakens a dragon that’s been asleep for years. Ashton has to convince her shifters are real and to trust her and somehow accept being his mate for life. Great plot characters and storyline. Can’t wait for second book now.

I want to start by thanking Lainie Anderson for giving me a ARC of this book. I am so glad I picked it up a few days ago. I ate this up! I love Dragons so this was a plus going in. I stayed entertained the whole way through. It has small town, fated mates , insta love , dragon shifters , and more . I definitely recommend this book.

A new town of shifters for me to enjoy! I was so excited to start this book. Ashton and Erin were adorable together but I just knew she would freak out when she learned the truth! He had just as much reason for the secrecy as she did and I’m glad she realized that. Looking forward to the next book.
