As an author of fantasy and paranormal romance, she just needs to know some things, like how many dead babies can fit in a bathtub (34, 52.5 if blended), what human meat tastes like (dry pork), how to get away with murder (it’s really hard to tell the difference between a drowning accident and a drowning murder, just saying), etc.
This non-serial killer lady lives with her partner, who often drags her outside, claiming ‘sunlight is necessary’ and ‘social interactions are a good thing’. Given her questionable search history, she goes along with it, thinking it’ll be better to have less ‘aloof serial killer vibes’ should the police ever knock on her door…
He tortures her because ✨miscommunication ✨ and in lieu of grovelling he goes and fucks his brothers girl because ✨reasons✨ don’t worry, he was blindfolded and didn’t wanna do it
The fucker still smells like a whore. It doesn’t matter how many showers he has, I can still smell That Bitch on him. He must have buried himself so deep inside her, made her squirt all over his cock so fucking hard that it seeped into his skin. And I hate that that is what I am focused on more than the fact that he tortured me, then raped me. But every time he glances at her as we sit at the kitchen table eating dinner, four days after he fucked her, I want to stab her in the face, then him. Every time she tries to talk to me, I want to shoot her in the throat, then him. Every time she fucking breathes, I want to shove her godsdamn head into a shit-clogged toilet and drown her in it. Then. Fucking. Him.
Thennnnn he says this about the man who caused him to torture his own wife. Yes wife, he screwed someone else while he was married
Breathing out heavily, I hold her gaze. “Talon will die,” I say. “That has to be enough for you.”
This scenes makes it clear that he will always put his family first.
88% plot twist. He didn’t screw OW. but he didn’t clarify he didn’t either till now,
ma–” “You’d just tortured me, Varius.” I try to pull away, but his arms lock me to him. “You tortured me, you left me for hours, and then you said you had to fuck another woman!” My anger rises. “How the hel was I supposed to know you cared about me? That I mattered?” “You’re right. I said something stupid. I’m sorry.”
Won't be rating this, Most of the reviews are so positive I don't wanna ruin them so this is more on a note to myself in case I come across this story again with safety details.
First, this is the second book on the trilogy but the fourth(?) book in the series. The trilogy, is focused on one couple. The last book in the trilogy is not yet released.
The story is to say the least confusing, I started with Tethered Soul solely because it has a virgin MMC. I should have started from the first book in the series so I am not confused asf. Anyway, I don't understand a lot that has been happening. On Broken Soul, I kinda get the story already but it was a lot to take in honestly. this has like 56 chapters plus epilogue and Tethered soul has like 45 chapters plus the epilogue.
Maybe partly why I am so confused is that I am very overwhelmed with the story.. it was long and the dialogues were lengthy, so it seems over the place as my personal opinion. Although, the author can honestly write. The smut scenes were off the charts. If I came only for those scenes, I may have rated it like two and half stars. But I came to be invested fully in the book in which is an area I failed at.
Anyway, in terms of safety details, I would say it is not COMPLETELY safe.
Also, This has both virgin leads but I think, the Hero has done half of everything already even though he was a v.
He said:
"It’s been years since I’ve touched another – my first and only interest just wanted to get close to me. She didn’t try to kill me herself. She just opened the door for her surprise boyfriend to do so. Neither of them walked out of that room, but the worst part of it was, I didn’t even get my cock wet. But in another godsdamn"
- It was confusing, what he was saying. It was out of nowhere tbh.
------------------------ In addition to that, He has brothers who fcks around a lot. He has one brother who shares his woman with his brothers ( It's a fcked kind of love because he was said to be so in love with the girl even cut his own hand because he hurt her and is so possessive over her. so even despite his reasons, I cannot fully grasp and comprehend his reasons.. it svcks. So, going back, here in broken soul, we get to see the scene where in it is the Hero's turn to fck his brother's girl but then his pov was cut.. left wondering what happened. Spend multiple chapters where in the heroine hated the H for fcking another woman, and the girl in the receiving end. Anyway, It never happened. Hero did not do it, but he let his other brother shapeshift and do the deed for him.
He said, She is the first and only one he ever fcked. So yea.
Also, props to the author for giving enough trigger and content warning. This is not for the faint of heart. Here in this second book in the trilogy, there is a scene where the H tortured the h and sa-ed her while she is pregnant. He cut her fingers off and multiple times, hammered her fingers. And the sa scene, he did not remember it. He was out of control.. the sa, happened right after she was tortured... Good thing, the fingers were fixed using black magic.
I really like the grovel though, but to the level of what pain he inflicted on her, also he did not seem to care at all at the beginning and show little to no remorse. He deserve a better, longer, grovelling where he must suffered so much. Anw, the h and H fck and she said, "we are slowly healing" contextually, from all the painful shhii that has been happening like what... Ma'am.. that is nawt.. what healing is. 😅 also, there is no hea in this book, the last one though, would have a guaranteed hea. after the part where they are slowly fixing their rl, the leads suffer more, it ended with them losing their child and h getting kidnapped.
Last, There are a lot of side characters I am so dizzy trying to catch up with, also hearing their (Hero's family's and other side characters' sx lives a lot, how the brothers fckd around sm yada yada, there is also some boys love going on a lot, and the H is such a family-oriented in a way that he gets on my nerves a lot)
Heroine is a strong one, Hero is overly possessive and gets jealous a lot
So please, be mindful with reading this, read the trigger warning and read at your own risk.
There is a lot of miscommunication in books 2 and 3 (based on the review by Eunoia tysm) where the heroine thinks that the hero slept with his brother’s girlfriend. In reality, it was his brother who shape-shifted into the hero to sleep with his brother’s girlfriend (because of the sex ritual in book 1). There is also sharing in book 1, which I hate when it is an MF romance. Even though the hero is a virgin in his own book, I still don’t like the fact that he did everything else besides sleeping around.
What did I just read and how do I give negative stars?
Book 2 in this series was a difficult read, but it seemed to somehow be okay but THIS book (3) has to be the biggest waste of time. I genuinely cannot believe I even finished this book, At every page, I was hoping the story would somehow become interesting, or the characters would have more depth and substance.
We have a macho, weak non-witch ( hybrid b**tch) with no actual personality other than paranoia and abusing his wife in EVERY way. An actual man-child who cannot comprehend that he is wrong and instead throws tantrums and objects at those around him when he is told to have some basic respect. Someone whose own brother would kill him in a heartbeat if he found out what type of women-hating guy he is.
Honestly, the only characters I ended up liking were Dayne and, shockingly, Aleric ( idky but at least he popped up with a line here and there) .
We have a house of 7 boys but somehow I was still surprised that acted the way they did. The continuous belittling of all the women they knew and the non-stop creepy borderline rapey way they spoke about girls left me feeling irritated at each chapter. I never realised there were people who felt this way so strongly that they had to write TWO whole books about women being weak and easily manipulated into thinking a slap is love because a man does the bare necessity of making you CUM.
Two books focused on the FMC getting pregnant and yet practically nothing about her actual pregnancy or any real feelings towards the embryo until it's too late. By that point I couldn't believe that I felt nothing but relief that the child wouldn't be forced to be in a house of people who genuinely would hurt her !
Talking about the FMC....
I have NEVER read such a boring and weak FMC. I feel like she is an oxymoron herself, an assassin in her own right, but also an FMC with no self-esteem or strength. Was her job title just to give her a backstory without having to do any actual writing?
You're telling me, that while pregnant my supposed bond ( this bond stuff is just an excuse to be a cuck ) tortures me so badly that I lose my magic and almost lose my child because instead of getting any evidence he felt I deserved it for EXISTING. And THEN he RAPES you and is shocked that you are upset. Instead of any form of grovelling, we get a DICK who continues to hurt you ( verbally and mentally) all the while finding a way to blame anyone but him. And, when you ask for space, he ignores you and nonstop calls you a child for being scared and violated.
And then he manipulates you to marry him ??!!!! and you say yes and then he PARADES you around like an object at the wedding in the name of showing off that you BELONG to him.
There were times when I thought to myself, there is no way she is this stupid and delusional ?!!!!!
The whole blood bond thing was not explained in any way and seemed like an odd way for the author to include incest in her story with it being supposedly necessary. The one Brother I was shocked at the most was the Reaper. The guy who stalked his girl, spent years protecting her lets his brothers DO HER? I guess love is dead cos WTF was that? Had to close the book and try not to be sick. If I wanted a RH I would read that but this felt vile.
And then the FMC is taken to be bred by wolves, ummmmmm ..........k
again, I stopped caring for her and the MMC once I realised they were both so dumb they though they knew what love was.
I can't think of this story having another book and being interesting in any way unless the main characters die and we all are free from them both.
BTW Varius your mum is a whore and a little Bi**h but i guess the apple doesn't fall far the tree ( to all apples and apple trees, I apologise for using you in the same sentence as these two rats x)
Everyone likes to talk about the "triggers" in Grant's books. So, I'll indulge- yes, there are triggers in her books- lots of them. If you want "once upon a time" fairy tales- it's simple- don't read them. As for the rest of us, the writing is addictive, drawing Grant's readers into her stories. You can tell she's engulfed by the flames and passion of the Shadow clan and there is nothing else you can do but allow the magic to take you into their tumultuous world.
There is also nothing gray in this series (except the majority of the characters' morals); but rather, it's filled with a colorful cast and plot, capturing its readers in an orgasmic build up that can never be satiated.
It's a must read til the very last page. And then you're left wanting and needing more.
Also I’m aware this is dark romance but Jesus Christ how much shit does this woman have to put up with?!
The recommended reading order for these books is bizzarre and feels like the storyline or plot was a second thought as opposed to this trilogy being well thought out. I realise Miranda herself has written a review saying as much but as someone coming into this with the three books established it reads very awkwardly in the recommended order. A lot of the backstory in the broken souls and tethered souls books could have been cut out, there are entire pages directly copied from previous books and it makes the read severely tedious when you’ve already actually read the books.
Various could have been an amazing character but he became incredibly painful very quickly.
Do I want to know what happens? Yes.
Do I want to read another book that’s half dialogue and scenes from the previous two books?
Absolutely not
I really hope Miranda gives that some serious consideration going forward because it would put me off reading the next instalment.
MIRANDA!!!!! GRANT!!!! I know you said you weren’t responsible for my therapy bill but I’m still sending it to you, just so you know you need to fix the shit that just went down.
Varius and Micha. My babies. This book started off sooo happy and then everything went to absolute dumpster fire shit.
GAHHHH!!!! My heart was literally ripped out of my chest durning this scene and taped back together slowly, until the last couple chapters and Ms. Grant literally set it on fire with no warning.
GOODNESS FUCK I am still a mess writing this review but holy shit this is the best book I’ve ever read in my life. Putting in my will to have this buried with me so I can reread this series in the afterlife.
^^I’ll be waiting for this exact moment in the next book Miranda or I will never believe in love again.
So all in all friends… if you haven’t read this series. WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU???!! I swear out of all the series I have read, this is THE one. DARK!!!!!! and I mean it but god, are the shadow men something else.
Don’t knock it till you try it.
Now to find a way to hack into Miranda computer so I don’t have to wait till the next release to find out what happens next 😭
Jk… maybe.
The only thing helping me sleep at night is this statement:
I would have rated this higher but it ends in a horrific cliffhanger and the next book in the series is the reapers, which is confusing because the reaper was already loved up in this book so the chronology is wrong.
ARC reader - received for honest review of this book
First triggers we have a lot. I don’t really have triggers I base it on if what is happening brings something to the story vs the actual trigger. To me the triggers worked for the overall story, this is not a sunshine book about princes and princesses. If you have triggers proceed with caution.
Varius and Micha are fire. The story is detailed and unique. She has really created a rich other world. The opening scene was holy cow. There is very descriptive s*x and nothing is held back.
There is fighting and torture. The FMC is not spared. I found the first torture scene the more difficult to read because of who was doing the torture. That for me made it more difficult to read.
This does end in a whopping cliffhanger that I only hope turns out different than implied. I can’t wait to find out. To me that indicates a good read and the author has made you invested enough to want to see what happens.
Really my rating is 4.5 you have action, hot scenes and an interesting world. I deducted 1/2 star because I dislike when MMC uses the withholding of a happy ending:) to punish or prove a point to the MFC.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Trash. Absolute trash. This is just rage bait at this point. So he tortured her because he thought she ✨️betrayed✨️ him (no, not cheating, and not actual betrayal. He just ✨️thought✨️ she did it, even though she didn't, he still tortured her) and took her magic away. It's eventually said that it's just a mental block cause it's all in her head. YES. BECAUSE YOU TORTURED HER!! Not to mention, she was pregnant with his baby and the torturing almost caused a miscarriage. But that's all okay, y'know why? Because he thought she betrayed him😌 Alsoooo he grapes her. Yes. GRAPE. And even after all of that, she's like, "I still love the damn fool." ....WHAT? IS THE FEMALE LEAD ABSOLUTELY STUPID. AND SHE WAS STILL PREGNANT!?!? AND THEN HE GOES TO FÜÇĶ ANOTHER WOMAN???? WHILE THEY'RE MARRIED????? Apparently, his brother started a mating bond with a woman, and if they didn't finish it, they'd die or some śĥïť. Die. Like, okay, it's a fantasy, and honestly, it's not even in the top 10 worse things I've read in fantasy books (the dying if the bond is incomplete thing) But WHY would the author make it so one of the conditions for the bond was to sleep with everyone in the house? Wtf? Oh, no, I'm sorry, he was ✨️blindfolded✨️, and apparently, that makes everything okay👌🏻😃 The thing with that specific brother is that he's supposed to be sooo possessive, that when he hurt his girl, he cut off the arm that he hurt her with or smth. Bíťćĥ wtf. Then proceeds to have every man in the house have ṣ̌ęx̌ with her. That doesn't seem possessive to me. Back to our leads. The guy tortured you, graped you, and slept with another woman. And FMC is still in love with him. I definitely did not finish this book and never will. I didn't stop when he tortured her, didn't stop when he graped her, nor did I stop when her fûč̣ƙed another woman. No. I was still waiting for the groveling. But it never came. It never fûćƙing happened. So, when did I stop? After all of that, all that's happened to her, she said, "I still love the damn fool." I hate this book and hope the author reads this and tries to improve both herself and her writing skills.
First things first: Miranda Grant always delivers on her trigger warnings. The book of Shadows series is a dark paranormal mafia romance, and while I love it, this may not be for everybody.
Now the fun part: this book was well worth the wait. Varius and Micha are my king and queen. After the events in Tethered Souls and Cursed To Be Mine, I was very curious to see how Varius was going to make things right with Micha. At first, I thought it was never going to be okay again, but one thing is for sure: Varius and Micha absolutely love each other. I loved seeing Varius grovel and in general see a more vulnerable side of him and his inner conflict when it comes to the balance of his part as don of the family and being the partner that Micha needs. And Micha, well, in this book, she definitely shows us that she can match Varius' reactions out of jealousy!
Another thing that I appreciate in the storytelling is that between all the gore and violence, there's also a lot of humourous banter in the dialogues between all the characters. In their own twisted way, they're kind of sweet and do mean well.
And that cliffhanger?! My heart was crying for Varius and Micha 😭
Ask me if I’m alright… really do it. Because, I’m not. She did it again, and tore my soul out. But ya know, in the best way possible. Miranda knows how to edge you with questions and not know who to root for and who to loath. This cliffhanger has me well..: on a cliff. These characters are so unique and very *insert annoying word* organic. You’ll love them for the little things, you may fawn over one of the brothers or side eye them. Who knows… but you should definitely check them out. Micha and Varius other men hehe… have such a trauma bond but only because of some jack of all spades werewolf that keeps f’n up everyone plans. 😒 damn you buttsniffing wolf boy. Always messing up my internal plot ending with your bullspit. Anyhow, I think she wrote this book with lots of soul and suffering, oh and lots of spiiiccce. Can you say yes please.
You guys!!!! This book….THIS BOOK! Elisabeth Kübler-Ross introduced us to the 5 stages of grief in 1969, today I am living and breathing EVERY SINGLE BIT AND PIECE of this grieving process as I finished this book. I was mad, I was sad, I was in denial, I accepted, I was bargaining with gods to make it all better but then destroy all that have caused pain. To say I am gutted is an understatement. It is the BEST gutted I’ve yet to feel! This book is INCREDIBLE! Hands down the best piece of work to come from Miranda Grant yet! I can’t wait to see what she will give us next ❤️
Miranda Grant's latest novel is a testament to the transformative power of storytelling. By tackling dark themes, the narrative sparks a profound emotional resonance within me, leaving a lasting impact. The characters' relationships are expertly woven, staying with me months after finishing the book. I eagerly anticipate the next installment, inspired by the promise of that shocking cliffhanger! -Please check TW page before reading.
I am going to start my review of Broken Souls by Miranda Grant by saying please, please, please check the CW at the beginning of this book to make sure this is something that is up your alley. I chose to read the hard addition of this book because I love how gritty and deliciously dark Miranda Grant's writing is.
Okay now on to my review. Holy Hannah, this book was amazing. The drama, suspense, angst, and spice had me turning the pages until I got to the cliffhanger. This book is beyond dark and will rip your heart out, but then put it back together again just to experience it breaking again. This book is a super dark mafia PNR romance that dips into dark themes and topics. This book is not for the faint of heart either. It is why I love Miranda Grant's books so much; the ride she takes you on will keep you turning the pages and wanting to scream at the characters and the situations they are experiencing. This book is part of a series and needs to be read in order. The storyline is original, dark, and heartbreaking and the spice is on a whole nother level of spicy. The push and pull, twists and turns had me all up in my feels. The characters are very complex and have an undeniable chemistry. Micha is a BAMFF!!! She is stubborn and not a doormat. Varius is intense, an Aplpha, obsessed with his wife, and very possessive of her. You love to hate him and then hate to love him. She is strong, determined, and mending a broken heart. I am so ready to see what the next book will bring for the characters. Bring it on!!!
It’s difficult to articulate my thoughts on this one given epilogue 2 ends in such a cliffhanger that I’m itching to just jump into Broken Souls, but I’ll try my best.
Micha is an assassin with a big heart who ends up in an arranged marriage/engagement with Varius Shadow - current boss of the Shadow Family, a witch mafia. He just so happens to not have any magic and as a Boss witch, that puts an even bigger target on his back as he’s seen by some as an abomination.
Grant once again did a fantastic job of keeping her dark characters dark. I have read a lot of dark romance and mafia romance nd it almost feels like the authors forget the despicable things that these kinds of crime organizations are actually known for and give their dark characters a bunch of loopholes and redeeming qualities of “not being that bad.” Grant does not do this, while still keeping the characters multidimensional enough that no they’re not all bad and can be liked, but make no mistake they are not good people.
But Micha and Varius together is just an inferno, and I can’t wait to learn more about his brothers who all have interesting personalities and powers.
If you’re into dark supernatural mafia romance, check this one out. If you’re into all that but want it to be wrapped up happy and sweet in one book, read this but do not read epilogue 2.
I’ve only just found Miranda Grant’s novels… and I’m obsessed with her writing and THIS world. It’s SOOOOO good!!!
I was initially drawn into this world because I was told it was ‘dark’ (particularly with the Madness novel), however, I sucked it all up with no qualms and wanted more.
And boy has she delivered…
Though, I do need to be honest, I don’t overly love the FMC: Micah. I might be in the minority here, and I feel this might have a lot to do with the order of how I read the books. (I started with madness, then moved onto tethered, then cursed… and finally broken) Do I feel for her? Yes…but also no. Here’s the reason, Sau is my all time favourite character and the amount of times Micah called her a ‘b!tch’ or attacked her just irritated me. Sau’s backstory and what she has experienced and sacrificed for her family is EXTRAORDINARY!! Micah needs to learn RESPECT as Sau is an absolute QUEEN that ALL members of the family should actually bow down to. (It seems Alaric is the only one that really recognizes this) And don’t get me started on Varius’s actions towards his own mother. (She needs to threaten to stick him back up her… IYKYK).
All in all, a great writer sucks you in… and I can’t wait to read what happens next.
Y'all are not ready for this book! I love it so much! 🖤🤧 Varius and Micha broke my heart so many times. I love them so much. I just want them to be happy. If you were expecting them to have their hea right now, think again. There's a hell of a cliffhanger that will leave you wanting more. Everyone! Read the list of trigger warnings. This book is darker than Tethered. There's stuff happening here that even had me raising my eyebrows. There's also some great parts. Like Maddox being Maddox 😂🖤 I love him. Also, Khalid in this whole book is why he's one of my favorites. Ugh! What he told Varius in his room had me swooning. The acceptance! Love it! Now, we all know I love Micha. I loved her even more here. The unhingedness here is just 🥵😍 Varius was definitely not my favorite at the beginning, but man! He definitely won me over at the end when he talked it over with Micha. I was ready for Micha to leave his ass, but I knew she saw him as someone worthy of her love. I can't get over them! I love them! The ending had my heart dropping so fast. Everything was happening so fast and I was trying to keep up. I really need to know what happens next! So worth the wait!
I was desperate for more of Micha and Varius, so I loved reading this even if this book made my heart hurt for them. I mean just look at that dedication 😭
This is the type of book where you scream at your kindle and need answers!! The type of book that rips your heart out and you don’t know how to move on when you’re done.
Varius and Micha have such chemistry, a bond that shouldn’t be ignored. They both have fight in them, they just need to get on the same page.
But poor, poor Micha. This poor woman.
I am obsessed with this world that Miranda has created. I honestly haven’t read anything like it. I’m so drawn into it and I never want to leave.
I always worry my reviews for this series don’t do it justice, but it’s so well written. Yes there are trigger warnings so please be mindful.
Also I cannot wrote a review without mentioning my love, Maddox. He had such good parts in this book! Although.. Miranda.. I think he needs to cross paths with a certain healer (cough cough 👀). Also Aleric. How can anyone not love him. Yes my type is crazy physch0 and I’m not remotely sorry about it!
Please check th tigger warning before you read this book, it's a dark romance and it´s not for everyone.
Usually I love the dark MMC, but this one is beyond salvation, he's completly paranoid, I never read such a paranoid MMC, it's too annoying, the prevous book in the previous book he demonstrated that he was paranoid but in this one he exaggerated, super irritating with every "normal" thought he has 100 paranoid thoughts, no one is free from his paranoia, there is not a moment of peace in his head and it becomes irritating to dwell on this book.
The torture scene of th FMC is very violent, there is no form of interpretation that allows us to think "he's like that because he loves her too much" nope, you can't romanticize that scene, much less forgive his behavior, he could apologize while walking over a bed of hot coals with rusty nails on it and even then it would not be possible to redeem it.
That not being enough the MMC r@pés the FMC a few hours Just after the torture 😡
How long does it take for them to make up? A whole week!!!! Really???? There isn’t groveling to make up for any of the things he did, and in one week????
And as if that isn’t enough the FMC gets kidnapted to be victim of multiple r@pes WTF???? There is one other thing that is worst than this but I refuse to talk about it.
I really want to know what happens to Micha, but I don’t think I can read the next book because of how this ended, I can’t take any more abuse on Micha, it’s too much for me.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Normally, I love dark books, but this one was just blah. I started out liking it, but the more it progressed, the more I hated it. There was nothing redeemable about Varius. He made Micah believe he slept with someone else after torturing and raping her, there is no coming back from that. His grovel was weak and pathetic. He made everything sexual and it wasn’t even enjoyable to read.
In what world would she still want to be with him or have feelings after everything he did? It made no sense and completely destroyed her credibility as a character. Micah was a weak female lead who gave in far too easily, and any attempt at redemption felt unearned and insulting. For someone who acted so tough, she was constantly getting attacked and needing saving. On top of that, the nonstop use of “Neanderthal” was so irritating I skipped pages.
This series had potential, but the execution was not there. I won’t be continuing it.
Miranda is a new to me author and I really enjoyed this book. While this book is part of a series, I hadn’t read the previous books but after the first few chapters I was able to follow on quite easily.
I will say ensure you read all the triggers but if you love dark fantasy romance then this book is for you 😈
Really well written and at some points I was shouting in my head with Misha about the ways in which she was betrayed-and there were a few, I loved that she wasn’t a walk over and had a backbone to stand up to others.
I was going to be kind to myself and stop at the HEA at chapter 52 but curiosity got the better of me and I had to finish the book-the cliffhanger is brutal but so worth it-I can’t wait to read the next in the series!
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
All you Stanley girlies better fill your cup with ICE, this one is gonna BURN.
Insanely HOTT and spicy - Miranda's spiccyyy SCENES are carolina reaper hott. Unforgettable and dare I say it IRRESISTABLE!
Varius (MMC) and Micha (FMC) are a couple that are SO toxic you can't help but hate to love them BECAUSE underlining all their tension is a soul connection. They would do anything for each other and to each other, just to be together. And Miranda gives us all the roller-coaster highs and lows of their tumultuous love affair.
I loved this book so much! It has a TON of triggers be warned fellow bookies, but I swear to the gods you will never read anything like this.
And once you've had a taste of the shadow world, there's no coming back.
Holy crap where do I start…. Varius broke my heart with what he did to Micah like I gasped sooo hard and I truly think she forgave him too quick but I loved how he tried so hard to make up for what he did that was sooo cute but omg Sau that witch I want her to get hers sooo bad I hope she thinks her book was a paradise compared to what’s coming her way. Gotta say Maddox is quickly becoming one of my favs and sighhh I love Khalid’s woman like she loves him for him and not a weapon that made me teary eyed. Overall this was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING book like Miranda Grant did her thangggg with this!! If you haven’t read this series you are severely missing out on good plot and SPICE!!! Check your TW cause whoaaaa but damn if your not gonna fly through this book in a few hours guaranteed!!!!!!
Broken Souls Part 1 by Miranda Grant Overall Score ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Heat Level 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Genres/Tropes • Dark Romance • Paranormal Romance • Mafia Romance
If you are reading this one, you should have already read Tethered Souls. So you already know the characters and the feralness that is Varius and the strength that Micha embodies. As with all of Miranda's books, make sure and check out the trigger warnings prior to. All I have to say is, if I was a crier I would have been admitted to the hospital for severe dehydration by the end of the book. If you can't tell, this is me throwing the book in your face telling you to read it! I don't know what I'm going to do with myself waiting for Part 2 to come out.
Miranda Grant does it again! I have read all of her books of this series and this one is my favorite!
If you read Tethered Souls (read this one first!) You would know this the 2nd book that focuses on Micha who is to be married to Varius, the head of the Shadow Domain who are witches.
Micha and Varius' love is so passionate yet tumultuous. Unfortunately, with passion comes pain and boy does it happen to them. But their story is just incredible.
I loved Aleric in this one - it was hilarious! I enjoyed the Disney references (I am a huge Lion King lover!). The story line was so good and the smut was hot!
Miranda Grant has a way of writing truly dark and sexy tales. With that being said, always check the trigger warnings!
