How to Be a Rockstar's Girlfriend

Fake date a rockstar for funsies? Not in a million years.

Fake date a rockstar to help my uncle? Where do I sign up?

When I find out I have a long-lost uncle who needs my help, I can’t get to the small town of Winter Falls fast enough.

Turns out my great uncle needs more help than I can provide. He should be in a nursing home. But the crotchety old man refuses to move anywhere.

He claims he’ll only move into a nursing home when I’m settled with a boyfriend. Sneaky man. He knows I’m on a break from men after the last one cheated on me and stole my business from me.

But then Gibson Lewis, rhythm guitarist for Cash & the Sinners, offers me a deal. He’ll pretend to be my boyfriend if I help him convince his bandmates we’re in a relationship.

I jump on the deal. I don’t care how Gibson is a bad boy who tempts my resolve to stay away from men. How I long to trace my tongue over his tattoos. Or thread my hands through his perfectly mussed up hair and wreck it.

A rockstar can’t tempt me. I’m no rockstar’s girlfriend. I’m a country girl to the core. I got this.

Spoiler alert. I don’t got this.

This fake relationship rockstar romance features a sassy mechanic who’s determined to make better choices about men but will do just about anything to help the uncle she never knew about, a flirty rockstar who refuses to accept he has a problem that can’t be solved with a flirty wink and a smile, four bandmates who are beyond skeptical that their player bandmate suddenly has a girlfriend, a whole town of hippies convinced they’re the best matchmakers this side of the Mississippi, and a crotchety old man with a heart of gold.

Rocking the Rockstar Girlfriend role and then some

How To Be A Rockstar's Girlfriend (Cash & The Sinners Book 4) by D.E. Haggerty is excellent RomCom entertainment. Once again, this author has delivered a unique, quirky and perfectly flawed rockstar character in Gibson. And matching him up with Mercy, who ironically has no mercy when it comes to Gibson, makes for an awesome story and romance plot.
I love Winter Falls! Everything about it is fun, quirky, at time hilarious, but full of love and loyalty. Every character in this unique little town in Colorado is highly engaging and I love returning as more people are added to the residency, Rockstars and all.
Gibson is the perfect flawed bad boy, and boy oh boy does he have some major flaws! But underneath all the zany shenanigans to hide massive hurts, beats a broken heart that deserves more than he allows himself to have. And then there's Mercy. Phew! This lady mechanic is not to be trifled with and if you do, she will let you know it! I adore her feisty independence and her tenacity with her newfound Uncle, Mercury. He's been a staple of Winter Falls and as a longtime fan of this series as well as previous series in the Winter Falls setting, he has been a curiosity. I love that he gets some much deserved attention. The banter between Mercy and Mercury is awesome, as is how their relationship develops into a beautifully loving one.
The Gossip Gals continue to be fantastically meddlesome and extremely proud of all their matchmaking achievements. For this reason alone, any of this author's book in the Winter Falls setting is worth diving into. Whether you're starting from the very first or from Gibson and Mercy makes no difference. Each is fantastic and can totally stand alone. But if you like Romcom, this author is not one to be missed.
But I digress, overall, Gibson and Mercy need each other superficially and eventually find that their interactions and time spent together go so far beyond surface level. Trying real on for size is hard work and while touch and go, Gibson rises to the occasion and becomes the man he can be proud of and Mercy's perfect match in every way, including a much deserved HEA.
I read an ARC of this book and voluntarily share my review.

Winter Falls is clearly the place to be to find a HEA. Mercy and Gibson are interesting characters, each with somewhat similar issues to sort through. It was the playful banter and family-like nosiness of this unique communuty of eco warriors that really made me smile. Life is never simple and straight forward yet the rewards for being vulnerable and honest with another person can be oh so good! I can’t wait now to see where Jett and Aurora’s story will go next!

I liked Mercy, sassy and honest. The interactions between her and her uncle, old man Mercury was hilarious.

I cried when Gibson broke her heart. I laughed when Gibson ganged up with uncle Mercury to against Mercy.

I worried about Gibson’s drinking problem even after we went through the rehab. Hope to have some updates on his future situation.

Very enjoyed reading their story.

I received an arc and this is my honest review.

Loved This Rock Romance

If you want to find a HEA in your life you have to head to Winter Falls. Love abounds here and with Mercy’s great uncle, Mercury, setting things in motion it only gets better. The banter between Mercy and Mercury was worth five stars alone. Things are set in motion for a fake relationship between feisty Mercy and Gibson, the guitarist for Cash and the Sinners.

This was a fun rom con that was a big page turner for me.

Once again a new story from D.E. Haggerty’s universe of Winter Falls. For all who don’t know about that, you can read this book wIthout having read the others before, but you may also like to start with book one in this series, or one of the other connected series, „The Bragg Brothers“.

Similar to one of the previous parts of the series this book starts also with a new woman moving to Winter Falls. Mercy is here to convince her until then unknown elder uncle to sell his house and move into a retirement home.

Mercy is a mechanic - and that makes it one of the special fun facts of this story, because mechanics who work on combustion engines won’t find enough work in Winter Falls where cars with conventional combustion engines are not allowed.

As a new resident she has a lot to learn about the social connections there and how life works in this somehow weird small town, where a lot of hippies and environmental conscious people with sometimes eccentric behavior are living: for example everything must be somehow recyclable, only electrical cars or golf carts are tolerated, the local flower shop only sells potted flowers and so on. And there also is a group of five elder women, who love to mingle and try to encourage and „help“ starting new relationships.

And as you perhaps can imagine, they are involved in the new budding fake romance between Mercy and Gibson, a guitar playing rock star, who recently became a resident of Winter Falls together with his band mates and they are in the process of recording their new album at the local studio.

How that goes and why Mercy and Gibson start a fake relationship, will be not further mentioned here, you have to find out by reading this entertaining story.

For me personally this book was an easy read and entertaining too. I am going to complete the series (as I did with the Bragg Brother series) and will therefore read the next and last story, but probably not the other series.

There are a lot of repetitions (helpful for new readers of the series) and all the characters’ behavior seems to follow the same patterns. Even the stories of the respective parts of the series develop to be a bit predictable with only a few new twists and turns. Sure, it is nice to „meet“ the same characters and their partly rather weird behavior again. And I am still in awe how D.E. Haggerty manages to keep them and their individual stories all together, but sometimes for me it turned out to be a bit boring read. Additionally in my opinion the behavior of some of the characters is not so funny anymore and goes - even if well intentioned - into a something more borderline and disrespectful direction. But that’s my - perhaps a bit oversensitive - personal point of view.

I recommend this book for readers who enjoy meeting mostly the same cast in an entertaining romance series and won’t expect too much drama, but a lot of quirky characters.

I received a free ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving this review.

This book takes place in the fictional town of Winter Falls. Mercy shows up to help her estranged uncle because she is one of the last known relatives of his. She’s told that she needs to help put in him in a care home and sell his house. But of course, it’s Winter Falls, which means, if you end up there, there is a big chance the natives had bigger plans for you.

Gibson is the 4th member of the band and I have to be honest, I did not care for the man in the beginning of this book or any of the other books. I have not disliked a character in the Winter Falls series until Gibson showed up. He was in denial of his drinking problem, he was arrogant, and just negative.

Throughout the story, I just loved Mercy’s personality. She said a lot of things that she thought, though not all were appropriate, it suited her. As for Gibson, I still don’t know how I feel about him.

Though this is part of a series, you do not need to read the other books to enjoy this book. It’s just a lot more fun because you are familiar with the characters that pop up in the book. I always found it nice to get a peek of what the other characters been up too.

Though this book was mainly about Mercy and Gibson, I felt that Old Man Mercury also had his time to shine in this book, along with the older generation of Winter Falls. Which is relatable to the remaining Cash and the Sinners books. Though it is set in Winter Falls, because they are mostly new to the town and don’t really know anyone, except Cash (sort of, but you have to read on the books to find out why) the storyline usually is surrounded by the outsiders and at least 1 of the original Winter Falls natives. Which I think is good because getting to know all the original Winter Falls natives in previous books, it’s nice to find out their stories.

I normally don’t share any quotes in my reviews, but this short conversation between Basil and Mercy was a reminder that I needed, and so I leave you all with this:
Basil rubs my shoulder. “Calm down, Mercy. Everything will be fine in the end.”
“And if it’s not fine, it’s not the end?”
“Exactly.”

SUMMARY:
Fake date a rockstar for funsies? Not in a million years. This fake relationship rockstar romance features a sassy mechanic, Mercy Keller, who’s determined to make better choices about men but will do just about anything to help the uncle she never knew about, a flirty rockstar, Gibson Lewis, who refuses to accept he has a problem that can’t be solved with a flirty wink and a smile, four bandmates who are beyond skeptical that their player bandmate suddenly has a girlfriend, a whole town of hippies convinced they’re the best matchmakers this side of the Mississippi, and a crotchety old man with a heart of gold.

REVIEW:
How to Be a Rockstar's Girlfriend is the fourth book in the Cash & the Sinners about a fake dating romantic comedy between Gibson Lewis and Mercy Keller. Both Gibson and Mercy have past trauma with their parents that have affected their way of staying in a stable relationship. The moment that Gibson met Mercy was hilarious as she didn't know who he was which just blew his mind since he's a famous rockstar. Every time they interacted he couldn't believe that she didn't know who he was. It was a very heartbreaking moment when Gibson fell of the wagon after he received a call from his father.

The moment he got so drunk that he called Mercy a Bitch when she got rid of his beer was so sad because if he had been sober he would never have called her that. It was fun to read how Mercy a country music listener falls in love with Gibson the rockstar who is sadly an alcoholic. There relationship starts out fake but in the end they both fall in love with each other. Even though Mercy has an alcoholic mother and Gibson has money hungry parents which almost ruined their relationship but they fought for each other's love. Mercy and Gibson had a bit of a rocky start to their relationship and in the end they almost didn't make it because they had to realize that they needed to work on themselves separately first. Onto the next book about the last remaining single band member!

I love a fake dating trope and after reading the other books in the Cash & the Sinner's series I was really looking forward to Gibson's story.

Gibson is the guitarist for Cash and the Sinners and one of the last two men standing after Cash, Dylan and Fender all found the loves of their lives. Gibson and Jett (the only other single band mate) have a pact that they will never fall in love. Why? Well we find out Gibson's story here but have to wait for the last book to get Jett's. Gibson has a complicated history with people who should love him and doesn't trust the emotion. He is however very attracted to new in town Mercy.

Mercy is old man Mercury's great niece who has come to town to help convince Mercury to move into a retirement home. To say Mercury is stuck in his ways is an understatement and has no desire to move anywhere. He does need help though and Mercy steps in right away. Mercy has her own complicated history, coming off an ugly breakup with her ex cheating and taking over the business that she built. She's a mechanic, which in a town like Winter Falls where traditional gas powered cars are banned she's not sure what she will do until an opportunity comes her way.

Mercury thinks he's a matchmaking gossip gal in this book because he makes a deal with Mercy that if she finds a boyfriend he will move. Enter Gibson as the fake boyfriend. There are sparks but they both agree that this is "fake" until it isn't.

This book also answers the question from the prior books in the series - what is going on with Gibson's excessive drinking? This becomes a major part of the story and we finally understand what has driven him to drink.

As always, I loved the story and the characters!

✔ Gibson was such a misunderstood character.
✔ Loved this whole band and their bond.
✔ But my favourite character in this whole book was Mercy. She was just what Gibson and Mercury needed.

Wow what a great book, I've thoroughly enjoyed reading this series and every book just gets better. Mercy is a totally independent woman, she doesn't like having to rely on anybody. Always being let down by everyone especially her mom then find her ex cheating on her regularly and stealing her car and business. Suddenly finding out she has an Uncle Mercury in the small town of Winter Falls when she'd believed she had no other family. Knowing he needed help she took of to see how she was going to help him, if he'd let her. Gibson likes his life except his band mates are all pairing up in relationships, not him he doesn't need to tie himself down. He loved nothing more than casual hookups and long drink infused nights, but he didn't have a problem with drink like his band mates think. When he bumps into the gorgeous woman with Old Man Mercury he was totally drawn to her, but why. When he finds she needs a boyfriend he offers to be a fake boyfriend to help her. Can he fake it, can he make his mates believe he was in a relationship. But then she tells him there's rules no drink and no other women. Really. This is a story about confronting your problems head on and acknowledging you have a problem. Winter Falls is a place that seems perfect and always the community comes together and helps or poke their noses in to help when necessary. This is a brilliant book and I can't wait for Jetts story, somehow I think it will be unexpected read.

This emotional rollercoaster follows Gibson and Mercy’s story, blending heartfelt moments with laugh-out-loud humor. One of my favorite tropes, fake dating, takes center stage and it's executed perfectly here.

From the get-go, Gibson is utterly smitten, though Mercy has her eye on him too. But make no mistake, he definitely fell first and harder. Mercy's tough childhood and complicated family life shape her into a caring, yet fiercely independent woman – a combination that not only won me over but Gibson as well.

Gibson’s open affection for Mercy is refreshing. Despite his own struggles, his big heart shines through. Mercy helps him see that he doesn't have to face his battles alone, making their connection even more special.

It was hilarious to watch Gibson futilely resist falling for Mercy – who are we kidding, he was a goner from the start! Their realization of love felt like a lightning strike: sudden, intense, and absolutely electrifying.

The way Gibson strives to better himself for Mercy and stands up for her is truly inspiring. And let's not forget, this book is spicier than the others – and I am here for it!

This might be my favorite book so far! Huge thanks to DE Haggerty for another incredible read. If you’re looking for an emotional, funny, and steamy romance, this is it!

Mercy was tricked by her Mother into travelling into Winter Falls to meet a Great Uncle she didn’t know existed.

Her Uncle Mercury is one of the founders of Winter Falls, which started as a Hippie Commune.

Mercy’s mother had just told her to go to her Uncle’s, move him into a care home, and then sell his house.

Mercury is not amenable to the idea of entering a Care Home, but makes a promise to Mercy, that he will go into a care home if she finds herself a boyfriend.

Gibson Lewis, Rhythm Guitarist with Cash & The Sinners, noticed Mercy when he was in a bar, and, hearing the argument between her and her Uncle, offered to “Fake Date” her.

This is their story, with a lot of bumps in the road, and with Mercy not fully trusting Gibson to stop drinking, which he promised to do for the length of their agreement.

I loved reading this story, which revolves around Mercy & Gibson, with the added cast of characters from Winter Falls, and the rest of the Cash & The Sinners band.

Followers of the Winter Falls Stories will love it especially, but if you are new to Winter Falls, you’ll enjoy it too.

How to be a Rockstar Girlfriend: Cash and the Sinners Book 4 is hands down my favorite in the series this far. It is a fun matchmaker, Rom-Com, that involves band mates, friends, family and a whole lot of busy bodies (in the best way possible)! Set in the world of Winter Falls, you can't help but absolutely love everything about the town and the residents who live there.

Mercy goes to Winter Falls to care for her crotchety old uncle who needs more help than she expected. He refuses to go to a retirement home but also bargains with Mercy- find a boyfriend to settle with and he will go to a nursing home. Mercy has sworn off men and does not appreciate her uncles meddling.

Then Gibson Lewis, a guitarist for Cash & the Sinners, offers her a deal. He’ll pretend to be her boyfriend if I help him convince his bandmates they are in a relationship. Of course she takes the deal but then she finds herself enjoying his company and vice versa.

Like the previous novels in the series the characters are brilliant, well developed, genuine, relatable and fun. They each have their own POV and add to the story in the best of ways. As always it is well written and the world of Winter Falls is amazing!

Gibson Lewis
Mercy Keller

Gibson is the Rhythm Guitarist for Cash & the Sinners. He has been on his bandmates watch plan due to his drinking. They are concerned as they are family for each other. Gibson is a player and he has a bet with Jett on who can be with the most women and that they won’t fall in love like their other bandmates. Mercy has come to Winter Falls at the request of her mother to put her Uncle Mercury in a nursing home and sell his house. Uncle Mercury has other ideas. Mercy is a Mechanic and was burned by her ex-boyfriend, through his cheating and then stealing her company. Mercy I has no idea who Gibson is when they meet, because she doesn’t listen to rock-n-roll, she listens to country. This is a very good, fast reading book. The relationship between Gibson and Mercy is fun to read as Gibson changes from a player. The book discusses alcoholism and its effects on family and loved ones and how much work goes into remaining sober. I really liked Gibson and Mercy both grew in their relationships with each other and others they care about. I would definitely read more books by this author and this series. This book can be read as a standalone as can the others in the series but if possible it’s good to read in order.

Really great steamy series

I particularly liked Mercy and Gibson as characters.

Mercy is a female gearhead, auto mechanic, which is not a common character profile. She has had a crappy life as the child of an alcoholic mother trying to shoulder responsibilities far beyond her years. For Mercy, everything to do with alchohol is triggering.

Gibson was a harder character for me to understand because he had started the series as a very one-dimensional frat-boy man-whore. As you read through this book, the layers of Gibson's history start to unfold and the reasons for his attitudes become more clear, and to a certain extent, understandable. I thought his character development was the best part of the essence of this book.

As always, Ms.Haggerty surrounds her central couple with a supporting cast of unique and very quirky Winter Falls' residents and a ready supply of snarky, snappy banter to ofset the moments of deep, serious emotional growth that touch the reader's heart.

I received a free advance copy of this story from BookSirens and voluntarily chose to share my review.

Mercy needed to put her great uncle into a nursing home and self his house. Once that was settled she could go back to her life. The problem is her crotchety old uncle won’t consider the nursing home until she has a boyfriend.
Gibson is a famous rockstar, and he took one look at Mercy and had to introduce himself. He was shocked that she didn’t know of him or his band, she wasn’t into rock music.
These two have commitment issues, different reasons. Gibson overhears her uncle, old man Mercury tell Mercy about her needing a boyfriend or no nursing home for him. So he meets up with Mercy and makes her a deal. He’ll be her fake boyfriend because it will help him out with the band. She agrees and this starts the craziness of this town and its inhabitants. What a crazy bunch of busybodies, snoopers, and manipulators. I loved every single one of them. This was definitely a love story, it was hilarious and I couldn’t put it down. I can wait to read about Jett & Aurora, I can already tell they’re going to be my favorite. The ending of this story is really good, giving it five stars and highly recommend it.

This is the fourth book in the Cash & the Sinners series.
This one finds guitarist Gibson trying to keep his band mates off his back about his hard partying ways by faking a relationship with the "sassy" car mechanic, Mercy.

Mercy goes along because Gibson agrees to help her out with a family situation with her ornery uncle and she needs all the help she can get convincing him to do anything, especially things for his own good.

But fake seems to be turning into falling hard real fast. Gibson keeps denying it's happening,  Mercy fights to keep it fake because she knows it will lead to trouble because men are unpredictable, however, she's powerless to stop it.

She has one request, but can Gibson honor it?

Another great installment of the series. I was looking for more about Gibson's parents and wondering why Gibson wasn't more traumatized! Don't worry I had righteous indignation for all readers on his behalf! (Well, maybe I got a bit too involved with this one?🤔)

Can't wait for Jett's story, which is previewed at the end of this one and left us with a bombshell!

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

I love the banter and quirkiness of all of the Winter Falls books, but this one just might be my favorite. Winter Falls is a small town founded by hippies, where individualism is celebrated and pagan festivals provide entertainment. Winter Falls has a club of elderly matchmakers and busybodies, who add to the fun. Mercy arrives in town broke and unemployed, to meet her crotchety great Uncle for the first time. She loves cars and is a skilled mechanic. Mercy might be damaged, but she’s strong, ethical and determined. She finds family, friendships and a future in Winter Falls. Gibson is the rhythm guitarist for Cash & the Sinners, a famous rock band that has settled in Winter Falls. After meeting the newest arrival in town, Gibson finds himself falling in love for the first time. Their story has heat, is entertaining twists and has fun supporting characters. Mercy and Gibson aren’t perfect people, but they are extremely deserving of a happy ending. I really loved this romantic story! (As possible triggers for some readers, alcohol abuse and poor parenting issues do appear in this story.) I received an advance copy for free and am leaving this review voluntarily.

How to Be a Rockstar's Girlfriend is a heartwarming, fake-dating, small-town rockstar romantic comedy in the series Cash & the Sinners Book 4. The story revolves around the lead guitarist Gibson of Cash and The Sinners and Mercy, the great-niece of Mercury and a resident of the quirky town of Winter Falls. Mercy, a country music girl, has no idea who Gibson is, which is like waving a red cape at a bull. Gibson, intrigued and allured by Mercy’s beauty and her closed-up heart, deals with his demons and tries to mold his life to please Mercy when she lets him into her life. Mercury is ill and agrees to go to a nursing home only if Mercy has a boyfriend. In a desperate move, Gibson asks Mercy to be his fake girlfriend to get the band off his back, and it fulfills what Mercy needs to get her great-uncle the help he needs. The juicy crux of the story is how they evolve from fake dating to a real relationship. How to Be a Rockstar’s Girlfriend is hot and fun, with a guaranteed HEA rockstar romance that I thoroughly enjoyed.

As always in D.E. Haggerty's books this was a quick, fun read while dealing with heavier issues (in this case alcoholism).

Another great story in one of my favorite fictional towns. As the stories continue the town of Winter Falls and it's multitude of quirks both take a smaller roll and continue to keep the books entertaining and fabulous. Mercy, a mechanic and car/speed junky, has no idea when she goes to help her uncle that he lives in a town where combustion engines are banned. But that's the tip of the frustrations iceberg as she meets her Uncle Mercury for the first time and gets to know the residents of his town. I enjoyed getting to know Old Man Mercury better as he's passed through the background of the other stories set in Winter Falls. Other core characters in town, such as the Gossip Gals, continue their cameos and supporting roles. Gibson has been in the past couple stories as the guitarist who has sworn off love, but all that is about to change!

Gibson and Mercy's romance.

Loved every single moment from the beginning to the end.

Mercy comes to Winter Falls to help her uncle Mercury who she didn't know existed.

Her mum has sent her to help him get into a nursing home.

Mercury is a crotchety old man,but with a heart of gold. The bond he forms with Mercy is heartwarming.

Gibson is instantly attracted to Mercy as soon as he sees her.He needs a fake girlfriend and Mercy needs to convince her uncle she has a boyfriend.

Mercy doesn't know who Gibson or Cash and the Sinners are.

Their fake relationship turns real and feelings get involved. There are always problems between getting to a happily ever after.

With help from her new friends, the gossip girls and the town of Winter Falls Gibson and Mercy get to their happily ever after.

A very enjoyable romantic comedy. One of my favourite series and small town.

Cannot wait to read Jett and Aurora's story next have been waiting for it.

It was great being back in Winter Falls and this time round watching the relationship between Mercy and Gibson develop. Mercy, a mechanic who is more than capable of standing up for herself, comes to Winter Falls to look after her uncle Mercury. She never knew he existed and has no idea what to expect. She meets Gibson, guitarist with rock band Cash and the Sinners, and there is an instant attraction. However she has no idea, and really doesn’t care, that he is famous. They agree to fake date in a bid to convince uncle Mercury to get the help he needs but could it turn into something more…… Great quirky characters, strong women and very steamy I loved this. I really like how each chapter is written from one of the main characters points of view and how it’s easy to work out how everyone is connected. Can’t wait to read the next one!

This is the 4th book in the " Cash and the Sinners" series but it can be read as a stand-alone. However if you haven't read any of the other books you will probably be wondering who all the supporting characters are. I have read the three former books in the series and I'm sorry to say that I liked the other books better. While I liked the characters of Mercy and Fender I found the story to be unconvincing and moving too fast. At first Fender just wants to convince Mercy to have sex with him and get the band off his back but after a few days he just randomly decides she is the woman for him? And of course Mercy feels the same - even though she swore off men and wasn't interested in Fender before? And also in the end everything is forgiven and forgotten rather quickly. All in all the book was entertaining but not as good as the other books in the series.

Having to take care of her alcoholic mother with no help from her relatives, Mercy jumps at the chance to go to the aid of an uncle she didn’t know she had. She is sassy and her uncle is grumpy, but they get along just find. She is to persuade her uncle to go to a nursing home, but he refuses by telling her that he will go when she has a serious relationship. Gibson is part of Cash and the Sinners as a guitarist and is an alcoholic but claims he can stop when he wants. As he needs the guys to get off his back and she needs a boyfriend, they decide to fake date with him promising to not drink while they are dating. As they grow closer and as Gibson receives a phone call that sends him into a tailspin, he drinks to the extent he doesn’t remember what he said to Mercy. He ends up with an ultimatum that will make him decide what is most important to him. What will he choose.

I always love returning to the world of Winter Falls and this book was no exception.

Gibson is a member of the world famous rock band Cash and the Sinners. As all his friends fall in love in the small town where they’ve taken residence, Gibson is adamant that love isn’t on the table for him. Instead he uses his time sleeping around and drinking more than he should.

Enter Mercy, a mechanic that has arrived in the eco town to help her estranged uncle. Mercy is not the kind of girl who will allow a man like Gibson into her life. Firstly he’s all rock when she’s a country girl, secondly she’s reeling from the betrayal of her last relationship. And most importantly she doesn’t get involved with people who excessively drink.

Together though they form an alliance. Mercy needs her uncle to think that she’s in a relationship and Gibson needs to get his friends of his back for his drinking. What could go wrong with a fake dating agreement?

Everything.

Witty, Wonderful, Characters with Heat and Heart - Could Not Put Down!

This was the fourth in the series, and although all the books are wonderful it is easily read as a standalone. Both Mercy and Gibson have been hurt in their pasts, had horrible parents, and are working on fresh starts in Winter Falls. They have instant chemistry, heat, and wonderful banter although neither of them is willing to truly open up - thus the "fake dating". However, this being winter Falls, with betting on romance, the Gossip Gals, and new "Found Families", their walls were bound to crack and I enjoyed every page. All of the characters are well written with depth and humor and I laughed and cried right along with them. I can't wait for Jett and Aurora's story next- Enjoy!

I was sent an ARC by the author and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review.

It's Gibson's turn to find true love in the quirky town of Winter Falls and the object of his affection is Old Man Mercury's niece, Mercy.
This one is my favourite of the series so far. Mercy has sass for days and unleashes it at Gibson every chance she gets, there's a good story in her history and with her relationship with Mercury, a character we first met way back in the beginning of the Winter Falls tales, Gibson has struggles that are dealt with in a sensitive manner, and there is loads of laugh out loud moments that we have come to expect from these stories.
It still very formulaic, fake relationship turns real, he mucks up and requires a grand gesture of sorts to get back into her favour and heart, but it's heartwarming, fun, and an easy, enjoyable read.
We get a major spoiler for Jett's story, the last of the bandmembers to remain single, and it’s a doozey!

Gibson and Mercy got off to a rough start - partly because she had no idea or care that he was a rockstar and because they both had histories that were tying them up. But Mercy was determined to make a fresh start in Winter Falls caring for her (previously unknown) great uncle and swearing off men. Gibson had been living the rockstar life of booze and women but his bandmates had been pushing him to cut back, especially on his drinking. He and Mercy strike a deal and he makes promises he’s determined to keep. Theirs is a very moving story of two people willing to do the work to be better for those they love. Loved it! A read-all-at-once book!

We visit Winter Falls again as yet another band member falls for a sassy girl.

Gibson, the rhythm guitarist for Cash and the Sinners and a heavy drinker had a pact with his best friend Jett never to fall in love.

Mercy is a mechanic who lost her business to a cheating ex and is absolutely not looking for romance. She arrives in Winter Falls sent by her mother to see that her uncle gets settled in a care home and to sell his house.

For their own reasons Gibson and Mercy embark on a fake relationship.
Add to this mix the whacky festivals and nosey, but well meaning inhabitants and you get another steamy rom-com.

This book, just like the other three books in this series a highly enjoyable read.

Mercy leaves a alcoholic mother, a cheating and business stealing ex and comes to Winter Falls to help an uncles she never knew she had move into a assisted living facility. What she finds is Old Man Mercury a cantankerous man with a heart of gold and a rockstar that sends her pulse into overdrive. Gibson sees Mercy and decides they can help each other. He’ll be her fake boyfriend to help get her uncle settled and she’ll be his fake girlfriend to get his band mates off his back about his drinking. Can they keep their fake status a secret from the Gossip Girls and the folks of Winter Falls? I love Winter Falls it’s always a wild ride. I loved Mercy and Gibson’s story.
