Nebraska Knights #3

The Kiss Class

Rate this book
I have a kiss hangover. Is that normal for the first time?

My love life is a big bah humbug. When a blind date goes bad, a Knight in ugly Christmas sweater armor swoops in and rescues me with a kiss in a very public way.

That wouldn’t be a problem except Pierre plays for the team my father coaches and has a reputation for being the biggest flirt on ice. If you ask me, all hockey players belong in the penalty box.

Except, I wouldn't object to a second kiss or lessons. Dare I say Pierre is a pro? Could have something to do with him being French Canadian. However, his rescue PDA lands him in trouble with the team.

We make an he teaches me how to kiss and I play the role of the girl he can’t get over. For those of you not up against the glass, he pretends to be falling over his skates for me and I pretend to hate him.

Then a winter storm leaves us stranded and it’s up to us to help save the Christmas Market. Seems like our game of fake-it is turning into a make-out. I mean make-it.

But what’ll happen when the holidays are over and we go back to our real lives? I don’t want to land on Santa’s naughty list, so I won’t tell a lie. Pierre had me at that first mistletoe moment. I just hope he feels the same.

This is a clean, sweet, closed door hockey romcom with lots of sweet kisses and a happily ever after.

Kiss Class by Ellie Hall is really good y’all . It’s the usual delightful style that is her to T .Full of fun and so witty with her repertoire .This author really is a star!
The coach sends for him but he gets the wrong end of the stick of why the carpeting with Badaszek . He was going to ask him to be Santa but that chance has passed…” Arsenault, the new year is just around the corner. It’s time to get your act together,” “But I’m doing great on the ice.” “Agreed. I’m talking about your reputation “ “ As I said, I’ve been, um, there’s someone. She seemed interested, then broke things off. It’s dumb, but I’ve been trying to make her jealous.” Now of course we all know it’s an out and out lie ,but it might just work if he found the willing participant…so that’s his lot “, “Claus?” “No. He’s on the naughty list. Dismissed” He didn’t get the part it’s plain for all to see. Now he needs to turn his reputation around, and for that to happen a woman to be sourced who is bad to look at over toast, to play the part of the one who has his heart. Pierre Ardor Arsenault may just lose his heart so he had better look out . Back in the dressing room , it gets no better ,what’s this about a Christmas sweater? “ “By the way, you’re wearing the ugly Christmas sweater for the rest of the month.” “What ugly Christmas sweater?” “Yep, it’ll fit nicely.” “What is that?” “It’s all yours until December twenty-sixth. Then it goes back into cold storage.” Cara Badaszek is home for Christmas, the only single lady out of coach Badaszek’s girl triplets. Her dad exclaims over his number seventy four defence man . “Let me guess, he’s a troublemaker.” “A player.” “Right, a hockey player. “ “No, a hot-headed, hot shot who uses a different stick every game and is a little too casual with the rotating cast of puck bunnies afterward. The only thing that’s saving him is that he’s got game.” “On the ice?” “Just stay away from Arsenault.” She didn’t need to be told , she has a rule , she doesn’t date hockey players since her dad had been right about Ricky Koch ,when she wouldn’t listen .. Cara catches up with her sisters talking about their misters etc.. Then she relates about the hottie with BO on the plane ,oh no she wasn’t interested in seeing Richy again anytime soon. This of course has them in fits of giggles reminiscing of long past date disasters. They of course have married the love of their lives so now it’s the remaining siblings turn to become a Mrs too . If only she’d ever had a kiss or even two… There’s this thing about sisters who you cannot tell apart ,they can have YOU doing almost anything for a start. Picking up guys in their YOU disguise…It’s a cinch anyway ,she’s falling for the Grinch… well it so happens her sister’s plans backfired in the most poignant fashion and it’s not the Zamboni man she’s after for passion with her flirty texts. Goodness me ,can’t wait to see what happens next? Buy the book and see in full glorious content. And that there kissing that will leave you content and fulfilled because Ellie Hall has done it again, you’ll be thrilled, given us a dream of a love story worthy of your time , with storytelling that is so sublime. So be warned ,set time by . It’s how to read all this author’s books find a sweet nook and let time pass by with a satisfying sigh . Of this story you will scream and shout like me .Because this story is pure and devout.

Whew! These two are straight fireworks. Cara’s character was one of my favorites. I totally related to her in so many ways. The instant chemistry these two had along with their easy friendship made my heart so happy. Pierre instantly made Cara feel at ease and continued in every aspect of their time together. While he may not have the best reputation, you can’t dispute that he cares about Cara.

This is a dual pov, clean romance. It is part of a the Nebraska Knights Holiday Hockey Romance series but can be read as a stand alone novel.

Hold onto your hockey helmets folks, this novella is a fantastic addition to the world of Nebraska Knights hockey stories!  If you have been around Ellie Hall’s Knights books before you know that most of them are centered around holidays, so far, we have seen Valentine’s and Fourth of July, now Christmas -yay!

Cara is a seasoned academic, youngest triplet, and the coach’s daughter!  Coming home to Cobbiton for Christmas, sounds simple enough until your sisters tell you that they have been working on hard to lining up dating prospects!  Merry Christmas Badaszek!  Begrudgingly she agrees, texting with the Zamboni driver and meeting up for a late dinner with a former college buddy of her BIL.  While the dinner turns out to be a dud, upon leaving an unexpected situation turns into a kiss she will never forget!

Pierre, former farm boy, pro-hockey player, and current possessor of the team’s ugly Christmas sweater, has a lot to say for himself and usually when being confronted by Coach on the regular in his office!  Yikes!  When he goes to play darts with his team after hours and he sees a beautiful woman in need of hero, he can’t help but step in!  That one incident sets off a triggered set of events that will warm anyone’s holiday season!

This is a whirlwind of a tale!  Between dodging teammates and fellow triplets that seem have a little too much to say, plus trying to make a scheme of pining and rebuffing believable so that Coach doesn’t know the truth…yowza!  This novella had me laughing, crying, and even a few eye rolls!  I loved seeing the teammates from the previous book come into play!  Oh, this book has all the Christmas spirit you would want from holiday based romcom plus the Ellie Hall magic way of wrapping it all together in the perfect package!  5 candy canes, way up on this one!

Pierre and Cara are in trouble. Different troubles however, the same solution might save them both. I don’t think I’ve come across a story that revolved around fake exes before, but this was so much fun I don’t know why I haven’t. it was such a unique way to approach the messes both of them had landed in. And it gave them an unexpectedly free way to get to know one another. I enjoyed this so much and getting the opportunity to meet the coach’s family was an added bonus. I can’t wait to read whatever comes next.

Reader’s Notes:

– this is part of a series, but can be read as a stand-alone

– this is told from Cara & Pierre’s points of view

-it is mentioned that a character lost their mother to cancer (past event)

Review:

I really enjoyed this Christmassy hockey romcom! It was so sweet and I loved the various things being thrown at Pierre when it came to traditions that the team held, but didn’t make him aware of right away. I loved that Cara was a little all over the place in her life with not knowing what she wanted to do despite the wide range of college classes she’d taken over the years. I loved Pierre & Cara’s meet cutes and how many ways they managed to connect with one another before both were willing to give each other a real chance together.

Summary:

Cara has had many things change over her lifetime, but being willing to be set up on blind dates by her happily married sisters is not one of them. Yet, with the holidays bringing them all together & Cara’s perpetual singleness, it just keeps on coming. But this time, things are different. The blind date is still a bust, but it led Cara to someone who not only swooped in to be her knight in shining armor, but was someone she didn’t want to let go. If only he didn’t turn out to be a hockey player on her dad’s team…

Pierre has been in the hot seat many times over his perceived turning door of women and issues on the ice. To try and salvage things with his coach, he claims that he’s trying to make the woman who stole his heart jealous and want him for good, not that there’s a woman that fits that description. That is until Pierre meets the woman of his dreams by chance only to discover that he stepped into a greater hot seat. Because that woman is none other than the coach’s daughter, who everyone knows is off-limits. But maybe Pierre can spin things in a way to help both his career & his chance at real love…

I love this Nebraska Knights Holiday Hockey romance series and these bigger than life hockey players. They are tough on the outside and really tender when you get to know them. This team has gone from having a bad reputation to most of the players settling down to get married. Pierre is the newbie and the coach usually has the newest player put on the Santa Claus outfit. This year the coach picks someone else because Pierre has been getting himself into trouble and his reputation as a ladies man is out there. Instead of a Santa Claus outfit his team members make him wear an ugly Christmas Sweater. The story of this sweater is really fun as each player who had to wear it embellished it more.

Cara is the coaches daughter and is an identical triplet. She's coming home for Christmas and her two sisters are already setting her up on blind dates. She has a no dating hockey players policy after a previous boyfriend broke her heart. When her blind date seems to be a no show and then he comes on too strong, a man steps in to help her claiming he is her boyfriend. When he tries to prove it by kissing her she holds him off because she has never been kissed and she doesn't want her first one out in the open in a restaurant. She has no idea that the man who helped her is Pierre, one of her father's hockey players. Her dad is going to hit the ceiling when he finds out what happened after she left the restaurant with Pierre. The pictures are all over the internet.

I loved watching Cara discover the real Pierre as he let her into his life revealing his upbringing. There's so much more to this story and the fun Christmas market in the town adds to it.

I received a copy of this book from the author and this is my honest unbiased review.

Loved Cara and Pierre's book.
Cara has never been kissed. When her her sisters keep trying to set her up, Cara dreads all of the dates.
Cara is to meet a guy at the Fiah Bowl but is stood up. She is texting Nolan the zambonidriver at the rink. She finds him full of hockey puns. When Cara is leaving the Fish Bowl, her date appears and is rude and harassing. To her rescue comes the guy with beautiful blue eyes. Pierre acts as her boyfriend to help her out of being harassed. They leave and walk to Merry Kissmas Square, where they share a kiss to get the non date guy off their backs.
Cara is blown away.. like this kiss was something special.
Pierre and Cara make a pact to fake date and the break up and for Pierre to give her kissing lessons.
These two are so cute. Pierre does not have a good image, but Cara does something to him.. something he has never felt.
They sneak around and find they have a good time together.
Since Pierre isn't going home for Christmas due to a hockey game in Denver, Cara brings a bit of Christmas to him.
Cara misses the Christmas game but watches and cheers on the knights and 74 her guy!
Pierre let's Cara know she has changed his life in a short time and wants her to stay in his life.
Pierre knows he must tell the coach about him and Cara. Cara has feared what her dad and sisters would think, but they are all happy.
Cara learned that she wants to move back home and be her dad's assistant and to save a place special to the town
Pierre and Cara can't wait to start a life together.

Oh wow.

I am in love with this book!

This is a sweet, Christmas, hockey romance, filled with laughter, banter, love, and so much more.

It was a tiny bit slow in the start, but the moment our two main characters met, everything changed.

Pierre and Cara were two equally amazing individuals. I was rooting for them the second he rescued her from her “blind date.”

The way they connected with each other, the way they were there for each other, was picture perfect. I loved everything about their relationship!

I was a bit unsure of Pierre in the start, considering I’m not particularly fan of books where the MMC has history as a “playboy” - sometimes I’m even struggling to look past it - luckily that was not the case with this book.

The way Pierre’s “playboy” persona was executed - the history behind it, the fact that we did not have him being a “playboy” at all in this book - was really great!

I adored how our main characters balanced each other out - being each other’s perfect other half.

I would have loved to see an epilogue set a few years forward, maybe with them having a small family of their own!

Ellie Hall did an excellent job with Pierre and Cara’s story, and I’m excited to see what else she has in store for us!

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

It was so fun to be back with the Nebraska Knights in Cobbinton. I hadn’t read a hockey book in a while, so it was fun to jump back in.

Pierre is the newbie on the team, a french flirt and ladies man. Cara is one of the coach's daughters. They don’t know each other, but he saves her from an awful date where their Christmas Kiss ends up the talk of the town. Too bad he’s already on thin ice.

I absolutely adore both of these characters and I love that Cara is nothing like her sisters and can’t see her full potential. She’s smart, witty and loveable, if only Pierre can make her see it.

Pierre is a farm boy who took the fame to his head, but doesn’t want to live a life like that. He’s never met anyone like Cara and despite her being the coach's daughter, he’s never been more serious about anything, including Kiss Class.

These 2 have some fireworks straight from the beginning and I love that Pierre is so invested in showing Cara how amazing she really is and all the things she could really do if she wants. Cara is adorable, quirky and has never been kissed. Despite being the coach’s daughter, she is determined to finally take a chance on herself and see what life is all about.

•Dating the coach’s daughter
•Fast-burn romance
•Reverse fake dating and fake hating
•Forced proximity
•A double meet cute
•Christmastime.

Ellie you wrote another perfect Christmas story!! This book was so much fun to read and I loved everything about it. I was hooked from the beginning until the end.

Pierre is a Hockey player who is known to for having a lot of ladies around and causes some mischief. He's on the coaches list again and he needs to start changing his way and prove he's a better man.

Cara is one of the coaches daughters and she definitely has a fun story. Her sisters set her up on a blind date with a guy and has her texting another guy while she's waiting for the date. Poor Cara thinks she gets stood up but then as she's leaving the man finally appears and man is he a loser! Thank goodness a man comes to her rescue. Even though he's the last person she should be involved with. Pierre and Cara are just the sweetest and you will love every moment.

This was the perfect hockey romance story! I laughed, swooned, smiled like a fool and just had a great time getting to know all of these characters. The characters are well written and enjoyable. If you love sweet kissed, closed door romance that will make you have all the feel, then this is a MUST READ! I highly recommend this book!

Thank you Ellie Hall for allowing me to read this ARC for my honest opinion.

An entertaining holiday hockey romcom.
Cara Badaszek is a perpetual student, but she’s finally decided on what her dream degree is going to be, now she just has to tell her father. He loves his three triplet daughters, two of which have settled down in married bliss, but Cara is taking her own sweet time. Cara has immersed herself in school, but of all the programs she’s been in, nothing has quite felt right until she came across a program of graphic design. Another interesting tibit about Cara is she’s 26 and never been kissed, I know shocking - right.
Pierre is new to the Nebraska Knights hockey team this year. He’s heard Coach Badaszek is honest and fair, but a little hard nosed. Seeing that Pierre was a bit of a ladies man and seemed to always find himself in hot water, but it’s really the puck bunny magnets that get him in trouble. Maybe a little bit has to do with his hottie French Canadianess.
Add in, ugly Christmas sweater, Christmas market, snowstorm, stranded, kiss class and you’ve got the makings of a fun, swoony and clean story.

A kissing 'natural'

Sweet twenty-six and never been kissed. That is the story of Cara's life after being dubbed "the smart one" of the identical triplet sisters. I had a blast watching Cara come out of the safety of her classroom. The guy she met? she had no idea he was on the pro hockey team her dad coaches.

Pierre is the new guy on the Knights team, still trying to find his footing with his teammates and the coaches. But kissing the coach's daughter is probably not the best idea. Too bad the rescue kiss he shared with her was the most compelling kiss of his well-documented history and the team dynamic is all about family life.

I loved the crazy plans and schemes Cara and Pierre concoct to teach her to get out of her own way enough to flirt and kiss, and at the same time, rehabilitate Pierre's reputation from man-ho to leading man in his own life in time to be asked to be Santa at the team family Christmas party. I never knew what was going to happen next, but it was always better than any thoughts I had expected.

I received an advance beta copy of this story directly from the author and voluntarily chose to share my review.

A wonderful read to enjoy
This book will put a smile on your face as you follow the characters through the ups and downs of working out a relationship based on a falsehood. Cara is a perennial student who can’t decide what she really wants to do. But she knows she doesn’t want to date. Unfortunately, her sisters didn’t get the message and are setting her up with blind dates. When one goes horribly wrong, Cara is rescued with a kiss from Pierre, a handsome and charming man, who also is on her father’s hockey team so not date material. When Pierre is called into her father’s office to explain, he weaves a tale of unrequited love on his part and disinterest on Cara’s. Cara goes along with the ruse but requires Pierre to give her flirting and kissing lessons. As lessons progress emotions grow but the truth needs to be told and no one knows what the consequences will be. A wonderful read that will keep you smiling. I received an early copy and this is my honest review.

Sweet, Adorable, Holiday Read with All Kinds of Heartwarming Shenanigans-Perfect!

This book was perfect for the holidays and Cara and Pierre were perfect for each other - from their very first kiss. I loved all of the silly shenanigans they got up to in order to protect him from her father (his coach) and her from her matchmaking triplet sisters, but also how they grew closer and became friends while falling for each other while all of that was happening. I found all of the crazy nicknames in the story to be hysterical, and the holiday events of the town were so well described I felt like I was there. I also enjoyed both Pierre and Cara's personal growth throughout the story and really cheered for their HEA. I can't wait for more of the Nebraska Knights series- Enjoy!

Very cute

First up, I will let you know. This is not a story with spice. If that's a drillink emperor you won't brand it here.
Secondly, this is such a cute story. It was funny as heck to begin with. Their connection in their meeting is hilarious and adorable. Their continued connection is completely adorable. You love it, you feel it. You have all of the butterflies, and this is such a sweet little story with a very innocent take on. Romance, without all of the like smut, if you need a break from it or if you just don't like reading, this is a great little romantic story, and I can't wait to read more.
I will say I was a little confused by her being an epilog that was literally just the conclusion of the book. Look at though, instead of an actual epilogue showing a bit of the future.

This was a funny romcom about Cara, a triplet, who was still going to school. Both of her sisters were married and she had not even had her first kiss yet. She was 26 years old and afraid to tell her family about her new major since this would make her sixth major. She was a lifelong student and overachiever.

I liked how she met Pierre, a player on the Knights hockey team which her dad coached. He rescued her one day by saying she was his girlfriend and later he had to confront her dad after they had kissed. Everyone knew the coach's daughters were off limits. This made for a fun and humorous story I enjoyed reading. I really enjoyed the fun banter. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.

The Kiss Class

Cara and Pierre have such a funny and sweet story. Cara has made a career out of going to school. Making the story even more fun, she is the youngest of a set of triplets. Pierre is French Canadian and plays hockey for the Nebraska Knights, the same team her dad coaches. Pierre is known for flirting with a lot of different puck bunnies. He saves Cara from a disastrous blind date and she experiences her first kiss with him. When the kiss is plastered all over social media, they create a fake dating and breakup story. She is not supposed to like him but cannot keep from asking Pierre to give her kissing lessons. Be aware, should you read this, there will be quite a few laugh out loud moments involved.

This story is about a man called Tommy Badaszek aka Dadaszek and when the 2 halves of his life collide. Tommy lives alone in Cobbiton, a suburb of Omaha, Nebraska. His wife sadly passed away from cancer and his triplet daughters, Anna, Isla and Cara, are grown and have moved on with their adult lives. Thankfully, he still has his other love to keep him busy. Tommy is the coach to the Nebraska Knights hockey team. Tommy has always had one unwritten rule. His daughters and members of his hockey team area forbidden from dating each other.

It's Christmas and all 3 of Tommy's girls are home for the holidays and the Knights have a new team member, Pierre aka The Frenchman, who doesn't know about this rule. Pierre also has no idea exactly who Cara is when he rescues her from the uninvited advances of a drunk man. Will the ugly Christmas sweater he is wearing be enough to distract her from his obvious good looks?

This book has all the feels a girl could wish for. The only way I think to describe it is a clean version of 50 Shades of Grey. It could easily have been called 50 Shades of White. My only criticism is, I think the first 2 epilogues should have been part of the book proper, leaving just the 3rd as the true epilogue.

This is a sweet and clean romance.

Cara was always told she was the smart one of the triplets. She hasn't really dated and keeps going to school, changing majors. She's unsure of what she wants to do. When does home, her sisters try and set her up with a "nice" guy who turns out to be a not-so-nice guy. Pierre saves her. However, he's the one guy her father does not want her dating. However, they decide to fake date. Can it turn out to be real?

This was a really cute story with fun characters and story-line. I do love Christmas stories. Definitely a good read for the Christmas season.

And so much more! This book was adorable but also had a good amount of depth, growing and healthy grieving the loss of loved ones around the holidays. I loved the family aspects and everything about Cara's family. Piere was swoony but also turned into a giant golden retriever. Loved it!

This book is soooo good! I love the characters, from Pierre, Cara, to tough as nails Dadazek ( Coach and Cara’s dad). These characters are so well written I feel like I’ve lost my best friends now that I’m finished. I laughed and giggled, yes, giggled at Cora and Pierre with the closets and kiss class. A fun read that I couldn’t put down because the story kept getting better and better. I’m not a hockey person but it was so much with the jerseys, puck bunnies and practices. I felt like I learned a lot more about hockey and enjoyed the plot written around it. Ellie Hall has a talent for writing books that suck the reader into fully enjoying every page only to want more!

When a blind date set up by her sisters go bad, a Knight in an ugly Christmas sweater comes to the rescue in a public way. In order to get out of trouble with his coach, who also happens to be her father they come up with plan. He will help her learn to kiss and she will play the girl his in pinning over.

I really enjoyed Cara and Pierre’s instant connection and easy going friendship. The way Pierre seems to always put Cara at ease and the way he shows he really cares. The family connection that they both have is the sweetest.

I love a good duel point of view and Ellie Hall does not disappoint.

This is short novella and the third book in the Nebraska Knights Holiday novella series.

The Kiss Class

This was such a cute Christmas love story.

Cara and Pierre have a whirlwind fake/not fake romance complete with an Elf on the Shelf, kisses in closets, a Christmas market, and a truly ugly Christmas sweater. Their story moves quickly, but is still believable. The first few chapters were a little confusing and chaotic, but I eventually got my bearings. The main characters were adorably relatable, and I laughed out loud several times.

If you’re looking for a fun, easy to read Christmas romance with no cursing, brief faith elements, and mildly detailed kisses, then this is the book for you.

I wanted to like it. It had so much potential. The characters were cute and they had a few hang-ups but I felt like they handled them well. But I also felt like the story was sort of all over the place. As confused as Pierre was by his team, I was just as confused. There was very little rationale for why things were happening. Plus, is Cara's sister "Ilsa" or "Isla"? And Cara's title in Pierre's phone changes back and forth from "Girl of My Dreams" to "My Dream Girl" with no explanation. I also think it would have been a cute tie-in to have them see the Milk Mustache truck at the Christmas Market. I REALLY wanted to love it, but it was just ok.

Another hockey book? Well yes, but wait! There's so much more!
Identical triplet sisters: 2 married and 1 never-been-kissed
The Frenchman: hockey Puck bunny magnet
Coach: overly protective and loving father to triplet girls
Christmas-storms-and kissing lessons!

What a fun and sweet book. I laughed at the triplet sisters, swooned at the Frenchman, melted at the "gruff" coach/dad, and fell in love with the town-especially the Christmas Market. It is the perfect book to make you happy and add Christmas to your life. I loved it!

Pierre... the small-town farm boy who goes just a bit wild with the puck bunnies once he hits the NHL. Cara... the youngest in a set of triplets, the coach's daughter who is a perpetual student until she decides what she wants to do when she grows up. Together, the chemistry is incredible. But she's off-limits, and he's already in the coach's doghouse most days. It's a sweet romance with a happy ending, easy and enjoyable reading. I loved this book. As a hockey fan since high school this was a great read & my 1st hockey themed romance. I loved the good feels it gave all the way through. I could have easily read this in 1 sitting & stayed up way past my bedtime! I really connected with the main female character with her nerdy quirky self who struggles in the flirting department. Can't wait to read more from this author!.

I found The Kiss Class to be a funny quick read, I adored Pierre and his struggle to find himself and prove his worthiness to his coach/love interest's father. I find the team banter to be amusing throughout this series of standalones, and enjoyed this Christmastime addition to this cute multi-holiday hockey series. This (technically book 3) could easily be read by itself, so don't let that scare you away.
