This is the 3rd book in the series and the storyline is still strong.
Tristan, the head of the Callaghan family, is navigating his way through the transition of taking over since his father's death. The power vacuum causing trouble between them, the Rossi's and Orsini's. But is there dissent in the ranks, has he rat and if so, who, and is it closer to home? As well as dealing with his father-in-law causing problems between him and Adriana. Silvio Orsini who wanted the alliance with the Callaghan's doesn't seem to want Tristan in the picture.
Adriana now has her children to think about. She wants assurances that they will be taken care of if anything happens to Tristan. Even though they love each other, she knows that Tristan, is holding things back. Adriana wants to be his partner in every single way, but Tristan wants to keep her and the twins safe and far enough away from the things he has to do, to run the Callaghan empire. But Adriana is an Orsini, no wilting flower, she is strong, focused and intelligent. She can stand her ground and contribute if only he would listen!
Both are dealing with their feelings towards each other, the position they now find themselves in. Who can they trust, who has a hidden agenda, wanting and waiting to take them down? Is the threat to them a family one or the other families in the area? Tthe crown he now wears is heavy on his head. But above all the most important thing to Tristan is Adriana and the twins and he will do anything to keep them safe.

The third addition to this dark mafia romance becomes even further twisted and convoluted, with mystery players in the dangerous game, and betrayal stinks to the high heavens throughout Boston and the East Coast.
Unfortunately, our main make character is, still, a wishy washy man who communicates like he doesn't know how to speak.
I don't want to spoil anything, because the story truly is interesting, and I am really rooting for Tristan, I truly am. I just wish that he would tell Adriana his reasoning for his actions and decisions.
The reason I gave this book 3 stars is because there are many points where things seem completely disjointed, or don't make much sense. Arguments spring up out of nowhere between the characters, and many times they don't make sense with what was happening a second earlier. Timelines don't match up sometimes, and I oftentimes felt like I missed entire chapters or many pages from one paragraph to the next.
I really do like the story, and I want a happy ending for the main characters. The writing and scenes need some work, though, because many things feel like they were thrown in for drama and don't quite fit.

Still love this series! Every book there more and more twisted that I never see coming. I honestly wonder what's going to happen. With Adriana and the twins, will Tristan be alive or dead? This one is so much more twist then I ever thought. I honestly didn't see half of them. I had an idea but nothing like this.
The more these books give me, the more I want to know what is going to happen next. Like you get to know a little bit more about Tristan's mom that I never knew about. It actually gives it more of perspective about how she was and how she raised the kids. And you get to learn more about betrayal and not knowing who you can trust. Clarissa's giving all that and more in this book. I'm patiently waiting for books 4 now!

Tristan Callahan and Adriana Orsini takes us on an intense, dangerous, chaotic ride in False Heir. Things are going sideways real quick for these guys and it seems the ones you trust the most are the ones that need watching the closest. Adriana is the perfect woman to be by Tristans side. She's strong, fierce and very capable.
"I would draw upon every resource I had. I would be the shield for my family. For Tristan. For our children."
Betrayal, lies and secrets run rampant in this story and there's no escaping the repercussions from all of it.

Tristan and Adriana. He runs the Irish mob and her father is the Italian mafia boss. Is she a spy. Can he trust her. They not only have to fight the unknown but each other to stay together. Their continuing journey is full of misconceptions and misunderstandings. Its a total ride or die. You name a narrative and this book has it. Its all entwined into their journey towards each other. Loved it and cant wait for the next one.

Listen I am obsessed with this series. There is constant drama, plot twists and “holy sh!t” moments. I absolutely love Tristin and Ade’s story. I’m obviously addicted to mafia romance as well. They are both part of mafia families but rival mafia families. It started as an arranged marriage that ends up progressing to them falling for each other. If you’ve made it this far in the series, you know that and that Ade is pregnant. Their relationship along with other things has caused an uproar in their mafia world and they are struggling through how to make it safe for their little family.

This was very good. I enjoyed it. Quite a bit of action and drama along with the romance.
Ex marine Richard is accused of murder, but is Tessa his lawyer by his side, when his past comes back to haunt him.
Well written, could have done with a little more build up and padding but a really great story line.
Tessa and Richard are great characters and had the chemistry and connection that carried the story very well.
Well done and look forward to more.

She is caught between Tristian and her father and can't see a clear way. There is so much drama going on with the lies and betrayals all for the rights to power in this tale of two families that battles it out and those on the sidelines trying to get into it as well. Who will when in the end.

I still love this story but I felt like it was drawn out with repetitive sex scenes and I was fairly confused by what on earth the fight with everyone was even about. Maybe the 4th and final book will explain it

The story seems to be a bit stuck due to the same misscomunications circling back once again. Characters don't solve their issues but brush them under the rug.
The end though is quite interesting and I hope it finally closes topics that remain the same since the first book

Clarissa did it again. A beautiful publication detailing more of Tristan and Ade’s story. Leaving it in a heart breaking cliffhanger wanting more.

I was absolutely invested in this book I could not put the book down, the story was written really well and the characters were an absolute treat. Adriana Orsini is a beautifully strong, feisty woman her father is Italian Mafia and Tristan Callahan is a dominant ruthless male that runs the Irish mob, he is obsessed with their enemy. Their chemistry was hot and intense, but were either one using the other, or are they both feet into their whirlwind of a romance that gives them the edge of darkness, and an eliminate of surprise with danger.
