Her ex made her doubt every decision. His ex taught him to trust no one. Sparks fly each time they meet, but they are drawn to each other like moths to fire. As danger lurks around the corner, will they trust each other, or will they let their pasts destroy their future?

A brilliant diagnostician, Dr. Riya Shastri has curated a persona of a strong, independent professional. But her abusive ex-husband is back, demanding money to keep her past a secret. At the same time, she clashes with the hot, annoying new orthopedic surgeon. Her past makes Riya unable to trust her instincts. And while her heart propels her towards the enigmatic new surgeon, Riya must walk a tight rope between a fearful past and a hopeful future.

Orthopedic Surgeon Neil Bright came from humble beginnings, brought up by a mentor who means the world to him. Now his mentor is sick and the mentor’s daughter, his manipulative ex-flame, is back. But Neil is burnt by their previous relationship. He finds Riya, the cute, smart, and empathetic pathologist too attractive to ignore. But Neil's social awkwardness and ox-like build repels most people. And each bumbling interaction with Riya just pushes her away more.

Bit by bit, Riya and Neil find their lives intertwining – beautiful as a rose, but just as thorny.

As their past relationships threaten to destroy what they’ve built, can their budding friendship blossom into something meaningful?

Domestic violence and gaslighting are commonly seen in many households. Women, mostly face these two kinds of abuse amongst many others, silently because they are made to believe that they deserve it. And men behave as if it is the right thing to do because they have seen their elders behaving similarly and/or to boost their male ego.
People assume domestic violence means hitting their spouse. But there are various kinds of abuse: verbal, emotional, financial along with physical. Except for the latter, rest doesn’t leave any visible mark; yet all kinds leave the same impact on the victim such that the person loses her/his self-confidence and begins to doubt herself/himself, her/his capabilities, no matter how qualified and educated s/he is. The doubt remains, always.
Dr. Riya Shastri is a pathologist with a past that no one knows at her current workplace, a past that has left her severely scarred. Dr. Neil Bright is an orthopedic doctor at the same hospital, who also comes with a history.
The story is a mix of romance, suspense, and also, some light moments. I have read the Sunanda’s previous works and her stories are always a pleasant read. The chemistry between the protagonists is crackling, the fear that Riya feels while she confronts her past and many more such instances are well written. The story makes you feel and think about what the characters are going through and you instantly connect.
I loved reading Script of Love and, if you love reading romance with a hint of suspense this is a must-read.

I recieved ARC from the author in return of honest review.
