The first three chapters add more layers to Wyatt's theory of perceived heathenism found in his book 'Perceived Heathenism & Odinic Prayer: A Book of Heathen Prayer and Direct Contact with Our Living Gods'. In these initial chapters the author delivers relentless blows to the ego of Heathen Dogma and lore obsession that they will never be recovering from. He uses direct passages in the lore and dissects them to show you their Christianized influence. This sort of thing is considered taboo among most heathens but Kaldenberg is not afraid to go where others won't for a number of reasons. To be direct, he is a veteran of this practice at upwards of thirty years of experience. In a nutshell, that means he has read all that is needed to be read and been through countless good/bad experiences. The weeding out and fat trimming has already been. The risen cream are books like this of his collection. It is easy for a beginner to understand but even an experienced Odinist has something to gain from this title.

The theory of perceived heathenism is direct interaction with the Gods without the stresses of extremely diluted stories written by people who despised heathens, Christian monks. Even for me, one of the hardest things is coming up with what to say to the divine. This book is a cornucopia of prayers, offering passages for almost anything. Although a prayers, they aren't written to long winded and 'talky'. Which is comforting because many ego driven lorist types would love to go on infinitely listening to their own voice as they show off how many things they memorized verbatim from the sagas. There are no egos here, no intimidation, no puzzles to figure out, no stress, no condescending,no judgement etc.. Just easy ways to open up dialogue with the Gods. I recommend this book to any practicing heathen but especially the beginners who really just need to get in there and be where they need to be.
