Ivy Layne has had her nose stuck in a book since she first learned to decipher the English language. Sometime in her early teens, she stumbled across her first Romance, and the die was cast. Though she pretended to pay attention to her creative writing professors, she dreamed of writing steamy romance instead of literary fiction. These days, she’s neck deep in alpha heroes and the smart, sexy women who love them.

Married to her very own alpha hero (who rubs her back after a long day of typing, but also leaves his socks on the floor). Ivy lives in the mountains of North Carolina where she and her other half are having a blast raising two energetic little boys. Aside from her family, Ivy’s greatest loves are coffee and chocolate, preferably together.

I’m so tired of getting books that are advertised to be BBW when instead she just has a Marilyn Monroe/hourglass shape. This was not about a BBW! Otherwise, an okay book despite the over the top and ridiculously unrealistic plot.

I was gonna give it a 0 but I’ll give it 1 simply for the audacity of the story.

More smut than plot, which could be good but the plot is so outlandish with nothing take it from point to point except sex.

This book is also kind of heavy on the “real woman” because she doesn’t wear makeup, isn’t super thin, blonde, etc. which isn’t great.

Listen I love a dirty romance as much as the next gal but ma’am do not let a stranger literally hand feed you ten minutes after you meet. That’s how you get drugged and murdered.

I think maybe alpha romances aren’t for me.

A little bit like smut, with more depth and characterization. Even though it was hot, TMI about past lovers. The only consolation was the information wasn’t only about hero. I also didn’t like how heroine constantly thought her sisters mockingly, judged them and called them bitches (even though they were....mmm..bitches).
Epilogue I enjoyed.

This is my first read of Alexa Wilder and I must say right off the bat that I am so happy that I got this series. I had so much fun with Leigha Carmichael and Dylan Kane.

Leigha is having one of the worst runs of luck and she has to be bother with her twitty, stick thin sisters and of course her mom. She decides to have a drink before the hail storm begins. Just when she thinks she can take no more. In comes Dylan. She is not sure if she is being punked or what but this chance weekend will be grabbed with both hands and then some.

Leigha goes the distance and some with a crazy ex, an ass of a soon to be brother-in-law, two pain sisters, a mother with or without a clue, and a very sexy man that wants her. This BBW gave me all I could want and more.

“The moment he sees her across a crowded bar, Dylan Kane knows he wants her.” What would a woman give to know that this is what the man in her life was thinking the first time he saw her?

Very good book!

I liked this book it was very heartwarming and full of roller-coaster rides. Her sisters are horrible people and don't deserve her. I'd love to read more about these two and Axel definitely needs a story!

Miss me?
We are so back baby. No better way to get back into it than a little billionaire romance.
3.5 plot wasn’t bad, felt a bit rushed, steamy but in a quiet way.

I’m sorry but this was just not it. He was blackmailing her to have sex with him, she was passive and submissive about it, and they talk about her weight too much. None of these are things I like.

Okay; wouldn't recommend

Alright so I mean it okay? Like I liked their dynamic and stuff. However idk what it was but the sexy scenes were so boring I skipped them. Looking back this book lacks a lot of substance for its length. The sisters and mom r portrayed in a disrespectful way and ik its a dumb romance novel but how tf did her sisters end up as shallow bimbo "bitches" (as literally even dylan calls them, an ick in itself)? No reasoning behind it. i think some depth could've helped. I like the shopping scenes and shit but who even r these ppl??? We don't learn any backstory or anything.

Feels cheaply contrived and conceived.

possessive alpha saved it

If not for the possessive alpha, this book would’ve ranked lower. The female character got a bit on my nerves. The inner dialogue of both characters was too much. I will read the next in the series.

As far as trashy romance novels go, not the worst. Still a little too many random/convenient plot points for my taste.

Buying someone a convertible after only them for two days is crazy work.

Great love story

Ivy Layne struck Gold again. I loved Dylan and Leigha. I couldn’t put this down, I wanted to just keep reading. This book is HOT!! Dylan is an alpha male, and I love my alpha males with a big heart, and he knows what he wants and he wanted Leigha! The intimacy was great! The storyline kept me engaged. I can’t wait to read the next book into the series 5 out 5!

The Billionaire's Pet, by Ivy Layne is a 354-page contemporary romance novel and is the first book out of a 3-part series of "The Billionaire Club". It is written from a first-person POV, two-sided.

Ivy Layne is an author who generally writes dirty, dirty sex scenes. So if you're someone who is looking for some dirty read (which there is nothing wrong with that) this is the book for you.

Spoilers Ahead ***

For this series the author is defining the female protagonists as one who is curvy or what would fall under what society classifies as BBW. I found it interesting because I've never read a book that has centered around the female protagonist being anything but model thin. I appreciated that this book addressed a societal group that is underrepresented in fiction.

Leigha has a rather low self esteem for herself as she grew in a household where her beautiful, thin sister got all the attention and Leigha was just an after thought. That being said, compared to her sister Leigha is a shy, boring (her words, not mine), independent woman who works hard. She does all the adult things, steady job, mortgage payments, retirement funds, but she has pretty bad taste men. Her last boyfriend took advantage of her, wiped out her savings and left her high and dry. And now, with little money she has, Leigha is staying at a premier casino on the Strip for her perfect sister's wedding. What she doesn't expect is a man to approach her in a bar and proposition her to be her date for the weekend.

Dylan owns the casino that Leigha is staying in and when he sees her at the bar he has to have her, but you know...just for that weekend. When he finds out the dilemma she's in, lack of money, embarrassed to tell her family that her steady boyfriend is no longer around he offers make her problem go away for the weekend. He will be the boyfriend and date for the wedding.

The interesting part of this story is the world that the author creates all connects to her other books. There is a Russian mob that is introduced here, apparently, Leigha's former boyfriend owed money to. That Russian mob becomes a central theme in the rest of this series as well as going into the Winters Saga and the story of Sinclair Security.

As you've seen I've written so many reviews on Ivy's books because I just love her style of writing. It's entertaining, most of the time, completely not relatable but you know, that's okay. It's fun.

In summary, I give this a 3 out of 5.

Only in a novel will this happen... I’m not sure how I would have taken it if my sibling would disrespected in front of other people and especially in front of a man.... but that is what happened to Leigh’s Carmichael 25yr old accountant. But I’m getting ahead of myself here... let’s start from the beginning....

Leigha was having the worst week of her life and she was sitting in the Delecta hotel and Casio, bar having a drink waiting on her mother and sisters because her younger sister Christie was getting married there at the Hotel... but while she was sitting there this handsome man came and sit by her and started talking to her. He is Dylan Kane billionaire and the owner of The Delecta Hotel and Casino...plus Kane Enterprises... Leigha told him why she was having a bad day and that she was there at the hotel for her sister’s wedding, and that they were meeting to do the before dinner and she was bummed that she has to face her sister’s alone... That her ex Steven had been a bad choice of a boyfriend. That he not only dumped her but he stolen her life savings 10,000$.

And that’s when the Wedding Rescue began. This was a heart breaking, emotional, and a self worth story.. you have to read how Leigha will make it out of this alive and get what she needs and deserves... you are going to be amazed how Leigha’s strength and self esteem is all she need to over come and make it through this story..

Dylan & Leigha: A Swift Courtship to Love! -5 Stars

Billionaire Dylan spots Leigha from afar in his Casino’s bar and upon sight, he knows he has to have her. He approaches only to discover her in tears. First, her ex has stolen her life savings and she doesn’t have a date to her sister’s wedding so she’s ashamed to face her family. Dylan offers to help her with her problems on one condition: be HIS for the weekend. Insecure due to her less than perfect size, Leigha decides to take him up on his offer. I mean how many times does a woman get to spend the weekend with a hot as fuck billionaire?! He in turn does a “Pretty Woman” on Leigha and agrees to be her date for her sister’s wedding. What neither of them count on is there temporary arrangement turning into love.

At first, Dylan came in very strong and cocky. I thought I wasn’t going to like him. But, he grew in me and I understood his character. I mean, billionaires didn’t become billionaires by accepting No for an answer. I love how he didn’t make a big deal about her weight and let the girl eat what she wanted. He loved her curves and I love how he loved her. I’m also glad that Leigha finally got over her insecurities about her weight and just let Dylan love her. These two made me smile throughout the book and this romance was refreshing. I simply loved it!

Happy reading!

I loved this book. Dylan was all Alpha Male deliciousness and I really did like Leigha. Sometimes i find that the curvier woman are way too hung up on their looks and it gets super annoying really quickly but she seemed to have a realistic level of self-consciousness and it didn't get on my nerves. Dylan was good at reassuring her but there were a few times near the beginning where he thought to himself things like "i know we don't look like we fit on the outside" and that put me off him for a bit but once i got past that, it wasn't really brought up again. You can tell he truly loves her and sees nothing but the beautiful smart woman that she is. Also, anytime he wants to by me an Audi I'm down! Highly recommend this book. This was my first foray into Alexa Wilder and I've already read the second book in the series which I also enjoyed. Can't wait to read the third. They are all stand alones but do interconnect as the men are all friends. Check out my highlights for some of the butterflies in the tummy bits.!

Lord, don't test my patience like this.. Another one bites the dust.. Another heroine who has weight issues which automatically translates to heightened insecurity.. I don't understand why girls who weigh more than normal should feel so let down of their own body and are afraid to eat.. Everyone can't have the same body types.. Everyone can't be stick thin or rail thin.. Why do you want to look like others? Where's the uniqueness of your personality if you're like that? Be happy with your own and accept it.. That's when you'll be able to stand up for yourself in front of the bitches of the world.. This girl just let her bitchy sisters walk all over her and was always afraid to eat.. Where does your mouth disappear? How can you be so mouthy with the hero and doubting his intentions when they are nothing but good yet you have no problem being a doormat with others? I'm just so sick and fed up of these kinds of storylines..

This book held a lot of promise but didn't deliver.

Ms. Layne should have focused on the tension in the relationship and less on the external tensions that were largely unnecessary. Sure, there needs to be a critical moment, but why does the lead up to it have to involve the Russian mob? I felt that all of the extra stuff in this book just tied it down. It could have been a much better romance.

Oh boy. Where to start from this one. I opened this up and shelved it because I wanted to leave the shifter world for a break and go back to my stories with billionaires and finding love. This series was in one of Ivy’s subscription emails and I’ve already enjoyed the Winters Clan as well as the Sinclair’s. I’ve almost covered all aspects of these interchangeable characters from the elite world and now I’m diving into this one. I initially thought these would be stand alone books, so I thought it would be interesting to read about another billionaire world but from Ivy’s collection. Already, the description and plot with this one hooked me in. I just had to open it up and give it a shot. What started off with promise, intensity and steam slowly fizzled out to almost no plot and too much sex. While I applaud Dylan for wanting to start something with her and not be afraid of commitment, his domineering nature, need to be controlling and his possessiveness was too much for me. I love reading about dominant and sexually charged males as much as the next one, but for whatever reason, this one gave me the ick. He has this innate need to insert himself in Leigha’s world but it was like he couldn’t just BE with her. He always had to do something, control something. I don’t think he really relaxes around her, he was too busy letting his ego and overwhelming desire and attraction to her take over before thinking rationally. I love how he was protective over her, but there were times when he just would not chill. He would lose it because she was out of his sight briefly and then holding her things hostage so she wouldn’t leave him seems a bit obsessive. The constant feeding her himself was romantic at first, but then when he did it almost all the time that’s when the gesture lost its luster and it seemed redundant. She was perfectly capable of feeding herself and didn’t need his help to do it. Oh man, there was all kinds of off things with Dylan that just didn’t seem possible and were ridiculous. The few good things about this book was that there’s a cross storyline involving Axel who is part of the Sinclair’s and their security company. I appreciated that and it just shows you how interwoven these characters are in all of Ivy’s series. You could tell this was pre Winters and Sinclair series because Axel is single in this book so that was pretty cool. Then there’s a cross reference involving Tsepov which we all know has been in all of the series I’ve read thus far from Ivy. I think he was mentioned in the Winters Clan series too but it’s been a while since I’ve finished that one. This was a nice surprise and helped move along this story because now we have a familiar character re-appearing that I’ve known about this whole time and didn’t see coming in this book. I guess it should have been obvious Axel would have made an appearance because this takes place in Vegas and those of us that have read the other series know Axel resides in Vegas and takes care of Sinclair Security in this region. Anyway, this book tried so I can at least give Ivy that. It’s just that, when all was said and done, there was too much sex that saturated the story and not enough time was spent on a plot. Plus, I think Dylan was just too much in this book and I didn’t really care for him throughout the story. I hope the next one is different because that would really suck if it’s more of the same thing so I’m finishing this book with a 3, it was just ok.

To Enjoy, Lower Your Expectations

This book was predictable, but it wasn't necessarily boring. I like the idea of a curvy girl being shown she's beautiful in all the best ways and a possessive ML looking to teach her a thing or two. However, if you're looking for romance that makes your heart skip a beat or a ton of plot, this book may not be for you.

Leigha wasn't a terrible character but she's pretty much a doormat, with insecurity issues and just happened to get lucky and hook up with a billionaire. This is after being robbed by her ex. Also, her two sisters verbally abused her and yet she was still going to attend her sister's wedding. A wedding with a groom that inappropriately touched her, but she still wanted to go to avoid disappointing her mother. The same mother who initially flirted with Leigha's date, Dylan and who was described as being a golddigger, like her other two daughters, but Leigha, could ignore this because at least her mother was "nice" to her. I don't how nice it was to force Leigha to attend wedding knowing how her sisters treated her, but ok.

On the otherhand, Dylan was unrealistically perfect. He saw Leigha from across the room and instantly knew she was made for him. He convinced her to spend the weekend with him, where he wined and dined her, bought her clothing&jewelry, and gave her pleasure that she's never ever known before. However, for someone who's supposed to be obsessed with taking care of Leigha, he's honestly not the best at providing protection. He's a billionaire and yet he didn't quickly deal with Leigha's crazy ex, and surprise surprise, the ex came back to mess things up. Most likely this mishandling was used by the author to set up a climactic moment, but it just made Dylan seem almost incompetent. Dylan's unintentional negligence and Leigha's "I don't need help" (but you really do) attitude in regard to her ex irked my nerve on so many levels.

I knew this book wasn't going to be complex or too deep but certain things just didn't many any sense. There were so many unanswered questions and lots of things were left unfinished. Leigha never confronts her sisters about how they treat her or the groom's harassment. Leigha never acknowledged her mother's flaws, because "she meant well". Despite Dylan having security, it was never discovered how Leigha's ex got close enough to truly be a threat. Leigha and Dylan never took precautions, never talked about birth control or their status, and yet Leigha miraculously never gets pregnant. And the ending time skip included a moment that was supposed to be romantic, but I was so distracted by Leigha's name suddenly changing to Leigh, to really care about moment.

Clearly, this book needs work, and I think the s3x scenes were the only selling point. They weren't out of this world but it kept my attention and I appreciated that Dylan, though obsessed with Leigha, didn't rush to say "I love you" because the events in this book took place over a span of 3 days. I can understand instalust, but not instalove. Overall, this is like a 2.5-3 stars book.

Ryan had to be a dream!

He’s the type of dream I wouldn’t want to wake from.

Ryan and Maise met in his bar one night when Maise was down in the dumps because her boyfriend dumped her and she no longer had a date for her sister’s wedding. She had to attend a meal with her sisters and mother. Ryan wanted to try to make her feel better. They made an agreement that she would spend the weekend with him and he’d be her wedding date, as well as take care of her problems. Maise was attracted to him, so she agreed. Both her sisters were cruel toward Maise because they were jealous that Maise was well educated, had a good job, and was able to take care of herself.

Maise was a little heavier than what others deemed to be the perfect size. While growing up, her sisters took away her boyfriends to feel pretty and superior to Maise.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and Ryan loved the way she looked. He loved everything about Maise. He bought her beautiful clothes, shoes, jewelry, and an Audi TT convertible, to name a few. Plus he was her date for dinner, rehearsal dinner, and the wedding.

There were several occurrences that would have been difficult for Maise to handle on her own. Ryan was able to easily take care of these occurrences without any problem. Maise admired him for this also.

Maise was continually having upheavals where Ryan
came to the rescue. I could feel the love Ryan had for Maise. He could tell she hadn’t been well loved during her life and he wanted to love her. The author was able to convey these feelings to the reader. That’s one reason I loved this book, because of the feeling this book gave me.

Of course, a gorgeous, and rich, billionaire hotel owner
would never come to my rescue. Nor do I believe a rich man would indiscriminately spend this type of money on a woman he planned on just spending the weekend with.

The book, the money, the H/h and the love all seemed too good to be true. As the saying goes, it probably is.

Although I realize it’s not true, the web of feelings the author was able to weave, I didn’t really care. I still loved it!

Sweet sensual curvy romance with hea

I enjoy many different types of romance stories, everything from dark. Slightly twisted ones to bbw or curvy girls, shifters, aliens, you name it, I'm usually up for almost any romance as long as it's well written and the main characters are basically good and there is an hea of some kind. What I liked most about this particular curvy girl story is that the author touched on the alternate realities that a big girl faces. There are the cruel people who think they have the right to judge and make hurtful remarks, which leads to perception number two. Curvy women have been humiliated, verbally accosted, and tormented by ignorant, mean-spirited people so much that they begin to believe they are defective and don't deserve positive attention, especially from men. This is where I have to praise Ms Lane's perceptive, but not heavy-handed way she reveals the third stage of growth. I realize it's much more romantic to be transformed just by having someone love you. But I feel compelled to insert an important detail here. Before anyone with tattered self-esteem can truly trust and accept love, therapy and guidance is a must. Sorry, bit of a downer, but true. Love conquers many things, but not a negative self-image. That has to be fixed before we are able to finally see ourselves through the eyes of another who loves us. Not the, "you'd be so beautiful if you just lost 50 pounds," bullshit kind of love, but the, "I LOVE your soft, full, lush, body baby, you turn me on" kind of love. When a curvy woman experiences that sincere, lusty, sexual appreciation, it becomes crystal clear. Beauty truly does lie in the eye of the beholder. It's a life-altering moment. Imagine that people are like fruit. Some like apples, some like bananas. You are a luscious, juicy, red, ripe apple. But you are in a store where the shoppers only like bananas. No matter how hard you try, you will never be a good banana. So stop trying. Be the biggest, juiciest, most luscious apple you can be. There are LOTS of apple lovers out there. Trust me, I have been to the orchard and it is a wonderous place!

Review originally posted online at kittylishareviews.blogspot.com.
Leigha has had a bad month. Her douchebag of an ex boyfriend stole $10, 000 from her savings account and on top of that she now has to attend her horrible sister's wedding alone while paying for a room in a Casino/Hotel in her own town. She has now found herself at the bar killing time before she goes to dinner with her Mother and Sisters. When she is approached by a man who is way out of her league she is reminded why she has sworn off men for now.
Dylan Kane seen the beautiful curvy woman at his bar and just had to get her into his bed. What he didn't expect was that she would be as smart and funny as she is gorgeous. She is a real woman. Not made up and overly skinny like the women who are normally around him. And she needs some things solved. Good thing he is just the man to solve all of her problems. In exchange for her spending the weekend doing his bidding.
When I started this book it had different expectations of the book then what it ended up being. That being said I am not in the least bit disappointed. Yet again I have found a book about a almost overly curvy girl with self esteem issues. Something that I can completely relate to. The sweet, kind, caring man is great as well. All in all there is nothing that I would change about this book. The multiple books is a bit of a throw off, but as long as you get all of the books before you begin you are good to go. I do hope the other books in this series are about Dylan's two friends. In a way I hope they end up with her sisters. Not because I wish anything bad on those men, but because someone has to tame those beasts.

sono libri che si leggono per curiosità, altri per piacere, e poi ci sono quelli che si affrontano con lo stesso spirito con cui si guarda un film trash dopo una giornata storta: sperando che almeno faccia ridere. Patto indecente appartiene a quest’ultima categoria.

Tre euro e novantanove centesimi buttati, dunque? Sì, ma almeno con la consolazione di aver alimentato la speranza (vana) che, a un certo punto, la storia prendesse una piega imprevista. Illusa io.

Billionaire romance

Ivy Layne is a new to me author. I started reading and at first thought it was a little too much. As in too much too soon when reading the story through Dylan's eyes. However since I am not a gorgeous billionaire man that's used to getting who and whatever one can want. I am a middle aged woman, middle-class and since I don't cheat and have been married for most of my adult life, sleeping with anyone that catches my eye is not even a desire nor a reality. Instead of judging, I let the story progress, and I was quickly rooting for Dylan to win the heart of Leigha, as he was already losing his to her. The extra drama played out perfectly, didn't feel forced and left me ready to read more by this author and hopefully this series.

The characters were realistic, although I wish that the actions of some of them weren't ( meaning I wish things like this didn't actually happen in real life ). I was genuinely concerned for Leigha. I don't want to reveal to much. I am not sure what was exposed in the book blurb. I've stopped reading them because often they tell me too much and I like to be surprised. Sorry, again I digress.

What else to say? Who would enjoy the story? Anyone who enjoys romance, romantic gestures, strong female characters, and some spice.

Another great Kindle unlimited book. The system knows how to recommend books based on what was read before.

❗️SPOILERS AHEAD.

The book had an enticing premise that initially drew me in, but after finishing it, I’m left with mixed feelings. While the whirlwind romance between Dylan and Leigha was fast-paced and engaging, it ultimately felt a little shallow.

The story heavily focused on their romantic relationship but missed the opportunity to delve into the depths of the characters themselves. Dylan comes across as a stereotypical romance hero—drop-dead gorgeous, domineering, and rich—but beyond that, there’s little substance to him. I couldn’t get a real sense of who he is as a person or what drives him. Similarly, Leigha’s character felt underdeveloped. I wanted to know more about her—her past, her emotions, and how her experiences shaped her. For example, the mention of her sisters dating her exes could have been a great opportunity to explore her feelings and provide layers to her character.

The romance, while enjoyable, felt rushed. There wasn’t enough time to build an emotional connection with the characters or understand why they fell for each other. The story lacked the depth that would have made it truly impactful.

That being said, it was still an entertaining read. If you’re looking for a light, fast-paced romance, this might be for you. However, if you’re someone who enjoys stories with well-rounded characters and emotional depth, this book might leave you wanting more.

I rolled my eyes a lot

Dylan and Leigha’s story was a little unorthodox and hard to believe, but it was also exciting and sexy. I find it hard to believe that this girl with no self esteem, who is supposedly very straight edge and “boring” would move in with someone she only knew for 3 days, no matter how sexy or sweet he was, but it was a fun story none the less. Although it’s believable that a billionaire CEO wouldn’t hesitate to go for what he wants, I can’t help but feel like the story was a little over the top. I did love the self esteem aspects of the story. It’s nice to have a female lead that doesn’t supposedly look like a supermodel, but just happens to be an average girl. Leigha is real and relatable when it comes to everything except Dylan. I also can’t believe anyone would be stupid enough to store their pin, account info, and debit card all together. Not only is it common sense not to, the paperwork that comes with your card always warns you not to do that. Plus, as a supposed responsible and successful accountant, she should definitely know that. If I just focus on the sweet moments and the sex, the book was fun. I just wish it was more realistic and I could read it without rolling my eyes or thinking “what an idiot” several times.

Dylan and Leigha

Leigha Carmichael just had one of the worst weeks and was sitting in an expensive bar drinking an expensive drink that she really couldn’t afford crying over her life.

Dylan Kane owned the Delecta and was wandering through one of the bars when he saw the most lovely woman he had seen in ages. She was feminine and curvy and exuded an innocence that was so rare he had to stop and speak to her. When Dylan realized the young woman had tears on her face, the predator in him knew he had an easy in to work his magic.

The Wedding Rescue has some of the usual romance tropes, such as the billionaire and the young woman who doesn’t think she’s attractive enough for him. Of course Leigha has a heart of gold and two nasty sisters who always call her curviness fat, and she needs a date for one of those sisters wedding. Guess who her date will be in exchange for a wild weekend in his penthouse?

There’s a little more to the story to add a little excitement, she has a dangerous ex-boyfriend who cause all sorts of issues. This was actually an excellent escapist romance. It had some spicy scenes, but it was more story than spice. Worth a read.
