Echo's Evolution: An Isekai LitRPG

Rate this book
Echo thought he’d been handed a perfect second life—reincarnated into a world of swords, magic, and endless growth just like in the fantasy stories he lost himself in to escape the hunger of hovering on the edge of poverty.

Then the quest went wrong.

Betrayed and left to die, he falls into the hands of a mad mage and is remade by a forbidden artifact—reborn as something wearing human skin, but no longer human. A hunger given form.

To survive, he must hunt.

Monsters. Twisted things that were once people. Their hearts are power—and he has no choice but to tear them out and devour them. Each kill makes him stronger. Each evolution takes something from him in return.

Kill. Consume. Evolve.

Humanity is a weakness he can’t afford. Mercy is a luxury that will get him killed. And the deeper he descends, the more he begins to wonder if there’s anything left of the man he used to be.

But hunger doesn’t stop. Not at monsters. Not at angels. Not even at gods.

not a bad book if you can get past certain issues

This is actually not a bad story. It could’ve been made into a series except for the two major flaws of the book. The cannibalism of the two MCs and the RandyNess that they both engage in. the two MCs eating people’s hearts and having wanton and random sex anywhere and everywhere they wanted to was just a bit over the top. There should’ve been another way to gain their powers and abilities. the world building was interesting. The side characters were likable, but the traits of the MCs, including the main characters whiny behaviour was a total turn off and took me out of the story. If you can get past those issues, it’s an OK book

rehash

It went over the same moral dilemma of eating monsters like 100 times with practically no resolution to the matter and it got really old. Also the whole breeding thing got a little out of hand and I think completely unnecessary.

Another gamer

Just as another book with too many stat pages, when will the writers figure out nobody wants to read pages and pages of stats and for sure I don't want to read about a wannabe hero
