With Snoozy’s twins finally reunited, Eve and her companions return to the haunted house, where the little witch resumes her consultation service in her quest for cash. The crack on Snoozy’s face still weighs on Eve’s mind, but a visit from Rutile and her grandpa provides a welcome distraction.
After an incident involving Rutile and some giant birds, the two dwarves take their leave—but not before giving Eve a generous “tip.” The tracks of what might be a dragon have been found in the dwarves’ communal mine—could they belong to another of Snoozy’s kids? Determined to find out, Eve and her friends embark on yet another adventure, hoping to find a new connection to add to the little witch’s growing list.
When a little girl gets discarded in the "Scrap Forest" the ancient dragon decides to take her in while he is coming closer and closer to death and he eventually succumbs to the natural order of things. But the child that he took in is adept in magic and brings his spirit back. The ancient dragon decides to stay around in his new form until he is sure that his human child can stand on her own.
This series is so cute so far, but it will definitely make you want to cry. Death and loss along with growing up are some major themes in this series.
