Cool story with lots of interesting characters, but lost track a few times of who was who. Could have been a bit shorter but otherwise not bad. Thrawn is a nice villain.

An enjoyable if truncated adaptation. It’s very clear, particularly in the finale, that it would’ve greatly benefited from an extra issue for some more breathing room. It also would’ve been helped if they had a consistent art style throughout. I would’ve liked it if Vantine & Blanchard’s stylized take was used after Heir to the Empire.

As it stands it’s a very engaging follow up to the original trilogy. While it would’ve never worked as a full blown sequel trilogy, due to it completely lacking the operatic and mythological flourishes in Lucas’s originals, it does deliver a fantastic action thriller plot mixed with a bit of espionage and subterfuge.
