Lost Soul - Immortality

Rate this book
A group of University students on Summer Vacation in Italy find themselves being followed by a stranger who has unnatural powers, and wants to abduct Cassandra.

What started off as a care-free vacation suddenly turns into a fight for survival, as the stranger launches into a relentless pursuit to capture the young girl. Fleeing with her friends, Cassandra must discover what secret she possesses that is so valuable to the stranger, and she must stay one step ahead.
The story reaches back a thousand years to the time when the last Pure Soul walked the earth, and Cassandra must discover the secrets surrounding this legend, and the hidden powers within her.

The characters are well developed and entertaining. Cassandra, the main character, deals with her own insecurities in her desire to be part of the “in” crowd, but lacking the courage to explore her own inner strengths. She struggles with wanting to be her own person, but at the same time, wanting to fit in with the popular crowd. Heather, one of her friends, is the in-crowd leader, who loves the spotlight, both with her girl and guy friends. She wrestles with her own vulnerabilities behind the façade she presents to the world. Layla couldn’t care less what people think of her, and tells it like it is. The two boys in the story, Brett and Clive, make up the rest of the group of five. Clive is the techie student, who lives in his iPad, and Brett is the loud mouth, who will say anything to keep the attention from his own insecurities.

The story reaches a gripping climax when Cassandra discovers the secret of the Pure Soul, and the real identities of those who still pursue her. She must overcome her own fears and inhibitions in order to survive, and protect those around her.

I love writing because for just a few precious hours, I get to make you laugh, smile, sit glued to the edge of your seat, and even cry. I've even made my wife call my mother to complain about the way I ended one of my books on a cliffhanger. I get to entertain you in the world I've created just for you. And if you put down one of my books after you've read the last words and smile, wishing there was more, then you've given me all the reward I need as an author.

I have a day job as Chief Imaginator at Imagin8, a tech company I founded a long time before I published my first novel.

To date I've written 4 novels in three different genres - Fantasy, Crime/Thriller, and Comedy/Suspense. If you have one of my books on your reading list, do yourself a favour, and make it the next one you read. Then share your thoughts on my FB author page, or here on Goodreads.
