About the author

Cynthia Woolf is the USA Today Bestselling and award-winning author of eighty-five works of romance fiction. Comprising sixty-six historical western romances, ten contemporary romance novels, two contemporary romance novellas, one historical western romance novella, and six sci-fi space opera romances, which she calls westerns in space. Along with these books, she has also published twelve boxed sets of her books and two short stories.

Cynthia loves writing and reading romance. Her first western romance, Tame A Wild Heart, was inspired by the story her mother told her of meeting Cynthia's father on a ranch in Creede, Colorado. Although Tame A Wild Heart takes place in Creede, that is the only similarity between the stories. Her father was a cowboy, not a bounty hunter, and her mother was a nursemaid (called a nanny now), not the ranch owner.

Cynthia credits her wonderfully supportive husband, Jim, and her great critique partners for saving her sanity and allowing her to explore her creativity.

SECOND CHANCES FOR BOTH

The story is a clean contemporary suspense-filled western that will unite two people and eventually develop into a relationship. The story will begin in Colorado, and moves to Montana. The two main characters will be Meridith ‘Meri’ Anderson and Chase Harper.

The story’s plot will have Chase Harper of Chase Harper Security, Inc. Contacting Meridith Anderson to do a mural for his outer office after seeing the one she has done for friends of his. He is impressed with her work—but when they meet, not only is he impressed with her, but he also feels a chemistry. Chase hasn’t recovered from the unsolved murder of Paige, his former fiancée. Meri was abandoned by her fiancée and best friend on her wedding day by Jared and Angela.

It isn’t long before Chase and Meri go out to eat and discuss more about the upcoming mural, and to get to know each other better. Hearing gunshots, seeing the shooter, and then coming in the crosshairs of a killer are all part of this story.

The story has the good, the bad, and the ugly of people. I liked the chemistry of Chase and Meri, and this story is a romantic suspense with crossties from the unsolved murder of Paige. Is Meri now being targeted because of her connection with Chase?

The story has life and death danger, suspense, and resolution. While both Chase and Meri were done wrong in the past, they must each learn to let go so they can move on. Meri is ready, but what about Chase? In the end, we do get the coveted happily-ever-after ending for these two within the epilogue.

I found this romance exciting and suspenseful. When Chase Harper commissions Meri Anderson to paint a mural in the reception area of his office, his world is turned upside down. The self-contained and enigmatic billionaire is not used to being upended by anyone, let alone a woman who barely fits his requirements as a partner. However, he cannot ignore the electricity zapping between them. Meri, still smarting after being dumped at the altar, recognizes the attraction between them but she is carrying so much baggage from the past that she finds it hard to believe that Chase could possibly have an interest in her. Having a meal with him results in far more excitement than she bargained for and when she comes into the crosshairs of a killer, Chase is the only person she needs to keep her safe. He may be protective of her, but when push comes to shove, Meri is no shrinking violet and she in turn confronts the deadly killer. The novel comes to a lovely conclusion, especially as Chase finds in Meri everything he ever wanted. I received a copy of this fast-paced book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.

Witness to Murder
Chase Harper is a billionaire and Meri Anderson really wants this job. Her business is doing great, but if she could add Chase Harper Security to her resume, it would be fabulous. What she is not expecting is how attracted she would be to him. It is undeniable. Why she does not know. He is handsome, but she has known other handsome men and they did not attract her like him. She knows better than to get involved with her prospective employer. She had made that mistake before. From the moment they touch Chase wants more. He struggles to keep a coherent thought in his head. He wants to make her his. Is he ready for another relationship though? Is he ready to let his ex-fiancé go for the last time? This is an enjoyable close proximity romance that is fast paced with murder, danger and suspense to keep the pages turning. It has great characters that are meant for each other from the start. The Epilogue is a fitting conclusion for Chase and Meri’s story.

I enjoyed this story with all the characters within. The main characters were Meri Anderson and Chase Harper.

Meri Anderson is a talented artist. She has landed her a job painting a mural in a executive office building. The office building name is Harper Security Inc.  and it is owned by a billionaire.  While doing the job things start to happen around her.

Chase Harper is a billionaire and owns an Security company. He want a mural painting in his building out side of his office. He has someone that is a friend that had a mural painting for them and he like it. So he asked them if he could get the person number. He has set up a time with the painter. When she show up and show some her work he decides to hire her. But after taking her out to dinner something happens.

This was a fun story to read. It had action, adventure, suspense throughout. There were a few giggles within.

Meri was an extremely talented artist that painted beautiful murals. Chase, a local Denver billionaire had seen one of her paintings and asked to meet with her about painting a mural in his Denver office. I love how artists can vision spaces just by looking at it. Meri and Chase immediately hit it off when they met. One night after Chase hired her, they were out to dinner and witnessed someone getting murdered. I can’t imagine how Meri felt when the two were out and someone took a shot at her. Chase owned a security company and always had someone watching Meri. Chase’s fiancee was killed three years ago and the shooter was never found. It was very suspenseful at times. I strongly encourage you to read the book.

In this book we learn about a very talented artist who is hired by the owner of a security firm to repaint the waiting room to his offices, the room that his deceased fiancée decorated. The more time they spend together, the more they grow to like each other however, they have both been burnt in the past. They soon learn that things are more connected than they first thought, and things get kind of crazy. Read to see if the hero can protect the heroine and see if they can find a loving future together.

Applying for a job to paint a mural in the office lobby for executive Chase Harper has Meri surprised by the instant attraction she feels for him.
Both are dealing with overwhelming emotional past traumas and are very reluctant to become involved in a relationship.
When the past violently intrudes on a dinner date, it sets in motion a reason to work together to find out who wants to cause them harm.
Very much enjoyed this couldn't put down mystery within a love story that keeps you on the edge until the end!

The Artist and the Billionaire

His fiancée was murdered; her fiancé cheated on her; could they find a second chance at love together? First, they must survive the killer gunning for them. For some reason, the killer seemed more interested in killing Meri. Chase did not want history to repeat itself, and he would do anything to protect Meri. Would he succeed? Who killed Chase’s fiancée, and who was targeting Meri? Could Chase solve the mystery before someone else died? I enjoyed this story and would recommend it to those who like contemporary romance with mystery and suspense.

This is a suspense-filled romance. It is a closed-door, clean story but there is a lot of physical tension between the characters. There was one spot where I thought the author dropped the ball. When the shooter enters the apartment, he is gripping a small girl. After the conflict is resolved, it seems that no one even checks on the child, not even the investigating officer. I feel like the child would have been totally traumatized by the events and every one of the adults should have been concerned about her. Other than that, the book was very good.

Meri is an artist, she's meeting Chase to discuss a commission for his offices. The attraction is instantaneous but Meri is determined not to act on it as he's her boss. Chase is very persistent, he's not been involved with anyone for years, since the death of his fiancée and now he's found Meri, he doesn't want to lose his chance with her.
Then things get difficult, they witness something they shouldn't and they need to hide out.

What a wonderful well written book. The suspense keeps you wanting to see what is on the next book. The sweetness of Chase is fun to read. What a doll. Meri is just a sweetheart with sass. I loved the way that the details of surroundings, people, thoughts and actions were written. Makes you feel part of the scene. This is one of my Favorite Authors. I adore all her books. This one is now added to The list. I highly recommend it. And her. Its a book that you are sad when it is done.

Yippee aye yay

Is there anything sexier than a gorgeous billionaire cowboy? Uhmm no there's not! I love how this story was clean but yet was able to show how much chemistry between Chase and Meri had together. Although this is the 7th book in this series, it's the first one I read and it is definitely a standalone book and best of all, a HEA which are the best kinds of romance books

Once again, another really enjoyable read from Cynthia, which I didn't want to put down. It has the usual love story, plus suspense. The only thing preventing it getting 5 stars ⭐ is how quickly they fell in love, all the internal verbalising of doubt due to previous relationships, and that all the main characters are just TOO nice. (However, this is the same in all of Cynthia's books 😂, and it didn't stop it being a really enjoyable easy read. 😀)

It is always a fun fantasy to have a billionaire (who also is a sort-of cowboy) lavishing his wealth and protection on a young woman. These elements of this book are enjoyable but the rest of the plot lacks credibility and realism. For someone who owns an international security company that guards people everyday, Chase Harper makes a lot of rookie mistakes and several times almost gets her killed. She has to rescue him more. So I wasn't impressed.

Fortunately, the man she is starting to care very much for is up to the task off keeping her safe and, when he realizes it, of loving her. Unintended Danger Abounds

When Chase hired Meri to paint a mural on his office wall he was not expecting to find someone he could be drawn to. Meri wasn’t expecting to become a target of a killer on the loose for 2 years. Happily Ever After is a given, but it’s a fun ride to get there. I enjoyed this story.

The beautifully written details bring the locations, scenes and characters to life, with enough romance to keep you turning the pages. A romantic suspense story that involves two wounded people who are attracted to the other. Meri is an artist and has self doubt issues. Chase is a billionaire who has trust issues especially after his fiancée died. AS the attraction mounts so does the danger around them. They must figure out the who is out to get them and why. Several surprises and lot of action before a happy ending is found.

Fun, loving, active characters. Getting to know Meri and Chase - their backgrounds, moving forward to daily life with many ups and downs, make this an easy page turner. Details and descriptions were so easy to picture in my mind.
Epilogue of 8 years later was a bit of a stretch in my opinion.
