About the box
Neighborhood Watch Box Set (6-10) contains five novels, it clocks in at nearly half a million words, and the individual books combine for thousands of positive reviews, so you know this edition is packed with post-apocalyptic value. It is preceded by Neighborhood Watch Box Set (1-5). The full series spans approximately two weeks after an EMP attack. Read all 10 books for the complete After the EMP experience by EE Isherwood. Thank you for being a reader.
E.E. Isherwood has been a storyteller for over 30 years. Initially the muse took the form of childish comic strips. As a teen it manifested itself under the guise of Dungeons and Dragons adventures. In college it culminated with a Master's thesis on Missouri geography—an extremely boring kind of story. Three decades and several careers later he realized that siren song never stopped, so he began to author books. A life-long enthusiast of apocalyptic fiction, writing about zombies was his passion. Future titles in science fiction and fantasy are in the hopper. He lives in the St. Louis, Missouri area, where his series of zombie books takes place.
I absolutely devoured books 6-10 and while I was satisfied with the ending, how do I go on now without Frank and the rest of the neighborhood watch? It's kind of hard to review without giving any spoilers away. Lots of suspense and lots of action, and the characters stayed mostly true to who they were in the beginning. I did feel like some of my favorite characters were eschewed to bring in new characters, so that was disappointing, but Frank did not disappoint me at all. Some losses I would rather not have had, but I guess that's the way of life in the apocalypse. One thing I really love about the series is that most of the women are portrayed as completely equal to their male counterparts instead of stuck washing the clothes, cooking, or watching/schooling kids like I've seen on TV, which I really appreciate and can get behind. But mostly I just love Frank and I'm sad to leave Clownfish Cove.
These books by E.E. Isherwood are some of the best post emp books I've had the pleasure to read. I've read a multitude of post apocalyptic, emp series and this is my favorite by a long shot. Plenty of action, ordinary people doing extraordinary things. Real people and circumstances here, gives you hope that if something like this were to occur there are groups that could accomplish great things and help their neighbors. Most of the others I've read are concentrated on just small groups that don't bring masses together. Can't say enough about these great well written books.
Well, I just finished book 10. I read the 2 sets of the books, and the sets don't allow reviews until Book 10. I read the series in about 10 days and enjoyed every word. This series was well written, well edited, and the depth of the characters was just perfect. Great story at the Kyla Stone level and just as reveting. Boy, Frank sure has some blood pressure problems EE! I would suggest this series to anybody who reads PAF. Now I need to follow up with another of the author's series.
Wow! I read the 2 box sets in a week, it was so good I couldn’t put it down! Mr Isherwood is an amazing story teller and I highly recommend his books to everyone. I feel I live in the neighborhood and am compelled to help us survive against all the odds. Even want to start prepping my family and getting to know my neighbors better. Thank you Mr Isherwood for your glorious storing telling!
Ten days of reading nonstop to read all of The Neighborhood books has been a rush! This is by far the best EMP series I’ve ever read. You never know what will happen next and it keeps you on the edge of your seat.
It's difficult to write one book, let alone ten and keep it interesting and exciting but that's exactly what this author did! I'm definitely looking forward to more from this writer and can't wait for the next adventure!
This book has many twists and turns that will keep you wanting more. I have read many books about the apocalypse. This is the most realistic I have ever read. It is truly an exciting read and highly recommended!
Like all the previous books this, one was quite a page-turner, so much so that it was hard to find a convenient place to pause so that I could eat or sleep. Better yet, it has an excellent ending.
This book was the very best for me. I have read so many of this genre. The Uncle Frank character was amazing . Warm heart when needed and heart of steel when needed. All characters we're my friends.Thank you Mr EE.
I really enjoyed this book series. The author did a good job making the characters in the book seem real. The story made me wonder what the world would be if an EMP did hit.
I loved how real and solid all of the characters in the story are. Mr. Isherwood pays great attention to details. I highly recommend this book collection.
There was only one problem with this series. I truly will miss seeing more of the future of this fantastic group of the characters in this neighborhood.
Loved this edge of your seat series. I couldn’t put it down from Book 1-Book 10. Isherwood got better and better with each story. Many is the time I’m reading these books and am frustrated by either characters doing stupid things or obvious things missed they could have used to help themselves. I had no complaints on these books—other than it felt like Book 10 was starting to go on a bit and could have stopped sooner. Love this genre. Isherwood has mastered it. Well done! Just bought the first two in paperback for my husband.
