Bonded with Pack Maddox, Eve and her new alphas hoped they were out of the woods—that she'd be healthy, and safe. But her 'runt' status has lasting consequences. Consequences which can be used against her.
Eve's abusive family will do whatever it takes to tear Pack Maddox apart and put their daughter in her place. If she wants to fight back, she has to overcome her past, her alphas' pasts, and prove to the world that Maddox is where she belongs.
But how can she do that when her body fails her, and her alphas are at each other's throats?
How does a runt stake her claim as the omega of Pack Maddox?
*** RUNT is the second in a three-part omegaverse romance. Includes 18+ steamy content and omegaverse themes (scenting, nesting, heats, bond marks, etc.). Trigger warnings for family trauma, medical trauma, and abuse.
As someone who typically steers away from ff i was shocked that one of the alphas was a female. I still gave the books a shot. I really don't enjoy when one of the mmc touches other women even in the pack. So while the story was ok, the surprise of ff and then the oral and intimate touching of the other female by one of the guys dampened my enjoyment. It was a good story with decent character development which is why I gave it 4 stars. While not my cup of tea, I'm sure it's other people's. It just isn't something I'll be eager to reread or wait for the last book.
The spelling and grammar errors got me. Like I’d have it reread a whole page to make sense over what was happening because they forgot a comma, or used the wrong word.
Loved the first book. Eve just annoyed me in this one and Thorn was an ass thru most of the book. Eve makes stupid decisions that get herself injured including almost get the s**t kicked out of her by her evil brothers. And after her pack rescues her she continued to defend the sister that lured her to where the evil brothers were waiting for her? Say what?
And can we talk about how Eve is so fragile and malnourished, keeps vomiting after eating and has her rib popping out of place left and right but somehow manages to have lots of sex, often rough sex with her pack with no health issues? So sex just seems to magically fix her for a little while? I mean I guess it is a fantasy book?
Also I didn't know this would have a surprise pregnancy trope which I hate. And it annoyed me that given they barely know each other, they are dealing with her crazy family and her ongoing extreme health issues, they want to test her fertility and get her knocked up? And surprise, even though she is medically fragile she just gets pregnant right away. Cmon. There was no concern that her body wasn't ready for a pregnancy. A pack that loves this Omega with all her medical issues would want her to heal before adding a baby to the equation but all they care about is she is going to be able to pop a bunch of pups out for them cause apparently that's all Omegas are good for I guess.
Definitely will not be finishing this series.

You know those books where the alpha is hesitant because they once dated an omega that pitted the pack against each other from the inside? An omega that pushed them to do things they didn't want to do? One that used her designation to manipulate the alphas in the pack? One that lied about things and did things behind their back that caused problems?
Well.. the fmc is that omega. She is absolutely horrible to the alphas. Using her omega charms to get them to do what they want to do.
First of all.. the other reviews aren't lying about the chirping. If you are going to write an omegaverse with your own spin that is fine... but whining is the norm and the whole chirp thing is super weird for someone that is familiar with omegaverse.
What really pushed me over the limit was when she encouraged two of the alphas to be s3xual with each other to get over their differences even though one of them was a female that didn't have an interest in men.
Followed by her using her illness and faking a flare up to hide a secret from the alphas and using their compassion against them to keep things from them that could put them all at risk.
Probably one of, if not THE worst fmc I have ever read about.
Which sucks because I REALLY liked the plot.
But honestly even the alphas sucked for falling for it all.
Lastly, the whole "runt" aspect is not explained well. The way the alphas talk about it makes it sound like her family made her a runt by how they treated her. But the way the fmc talks about it makes it sound like she was born as a runt.. and then later on the alphas talk about it like that too. So which is it?

This ended far better than the majority of the book was spent. I like the characters, I like their background stories we get in this one. But I do not like Pack Carson and it’s so Pack Carson forward. I want to focus on Pack Maddox and we spent so much time with Riley and Thorn at odds and it was miserable. I’m still unclear what happened with Flora, why would her Pack do anything for Pack Carson? Are they more of the same?
Before the end, I would’ve told you not to bother but the ending is pretty satisfying but you could also read the synopsis for book 3 and make your own assumptions and probably be correct.
I’m reallyyyy enjoying this trilogy so far !!! I just love Eva , Thorn , Baxter , red , Riley and Marcus so so soo much ❤️🩹
I especially loved how we got to see more of riley and red’s personality + Eva learning to love and be confident with herself which I feel like has been gradually and steadily building throughout !!!
The plot was a little underwhelming at times and the whole chirp and nest thing is still really weird BUT it’s just so easy to read and have a good time while doing so , so I’ll definitely be reading the next and last book !!! :))
I knew I had to start the second book as soon as I finish the first. Carson makes me nervous. This whole book made me nervous. With the odd stacked against them, they ended up proving everyone wrong. I honestly cannot wait to see what the next book brings. This book was an emotional roller coaster with ups and downs. I just wanted Eve to get better and I wanted Thorn and Riley to get their heads out of their butts! I'm so glad I picked up the series.
A good addition to the series. We learn more about the MMCs backstories as the FMC continues to get stronger. I didn’t like the extent of the FMCs naïveté, but it was explained away adequately afterwards by the other POVs.
This book ends with a good wrap up for these characters. There are some unanswered questions, but it wouldn’t be terrible to leave things as they are. I’ll still be picking up the next book in the series to be sure.
4.5⭐️ The first one hooked me and this one kept me coming back for more!! When I tell you this is a great series, I mean it!!! I read a ton of Omegaverse of every type and this storyline set up s a cool twist on the genre!! In part 2 we got a ton of answers and a few more exciting questions about what’s next for Pack Maddox!!, I can’t wait for the wrap up in part 3!!
I enjoyed the second book more than the first. The timeline still seems a little off, but I enjoyed getting to know the alphas a little more. But I still have so many questions.
There’s no way whatsoever that a beta or any sort of editor reviewed this story prior to publishing. The volume of grammatical errors, naming errors, sentence fragments, and incorrectly-used words is breathtaking, and was incredibly distracting from the actual story.
I was totally invested in the outcome of this book for Eve and her pack. Rose Carver did a great job of bringing each character to life and getting me to care about them.
I've very much enjoyed this series. I love the characters and the connections they all have together. This book could have been the end and I would have loved it. I can't wait to see what else will happen and how happy the Pack will end up being.
This book had lots of obvious mistakes in it. It felt like it hadn’t really been edited. I did have some things I liked in it, and the ending was sweet, but the constant mistakes were a bit off putting. I will read the final one, just for the sake of finishing the series but I’m a bit doubtful.
I loved this book as much as, if not more than it predecessor. The story kept me engaged throughout and I was totally and utterly invested in the characters and the outcome of the story. I would 100% recommend giving this book a read.
This is exactly the kind of Omegaverse stories I like. A bit of drama, a lot of fluff and smut. The characters are lovely and interesting. I also loved the female alpha in the pack.
This book in the series was full of surprises and exciting moments. I really enjoyed how these characters have grown in their own way and as a pack. Excited for the next book.
As soon as I got home from work, I did nothing but read. I had to know what happened next. The pacing issues from book one are still there, but the overall story is so good. I am dying to finish this series and can not wait for it to come out.
