A spin-off of the original 86 series. I haven’t read it, but it’s apparently about a brutal war. This isn’t about that at all. It’s a really cute slice of life about the high school life of the characters of the original. Everything is well and happy, and the biggest problems concern homework and romance. Nothing really happens in the short chapters, just the perfectly ordinary school life.

It wasn’t necessary to read the original to enjoy this, but I don’t know if the fans of the original will like to see the characters in a very different setting. Art was good, but I don’t know if the same artist as the original’s.
