I didn’t immediately get into this story because of how the protagonist came across in the beginning. He was extremely jealous of the Flame Emperor, yet also obsessively admired him. I didn’t understand it at first, especially since the Flame Emperor seemed like an absolute scumbag. Why would anyone put someone like that on a pedestal? And yet, Gong-Ja built his entire life around him—even dedicating a whole wall in his tiny apartment of photos and articles about him. But once Gong-Ja moved past his fixation and started living for himself, the story became much more engaging.

The supporting cast was fun to get to know, especially the Heretic Interrogator. They started off as simple or one-dimensional, but gradually revealed unexpected depth as the story progressed.

I also hadn’t expected the series to blend elements from different genres, which helped keep things feeling fresh. One of my favorite parts was when the characters entered the Murim world from the Chronicles of the Heavenly Demon book. That arc really cemented my appreciation for the story’s creativity and left me excited to see what would happen next.

There was also a romance arc, which is definitely a love-it-or-hate-it element. Personally, I was all for the romance between two unhinged characters because they made it work. They understood each other’s craziness, especially after all the time loops and constant deaths they had each experienced in their own lives.

If I had to point out a flaw in the romance, it would be that it felt a bit rushed and forced. However, given the characters’ ability to reset after each death, their relationship likely felt to them as though it had developed over months or even years, rather than just a few days. That detail might not be obvious to every reader, but even so, I didn’t mind it.

When I read manhwa, I’m here to enjoy the ride, not to find a flawless masterpiece. This one was fun, and if you liked Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint, you’ll probably enjoy this too. There are some similarities, but it’s not exactly the same.

Gongja Kim is a miserable F-ranked Hunter with no skill, no talent, and no money. He's got nothing but his jealousy---which ends up turning into a skill that allows him to copy someone else's skill. If they kill him first. When he accidentally runs across his idol, the first-ranked Flame Emperor, he learns the terrible truth . . . and vows he'll bring the Flame Emperor down for good. With his new revival skill in hand, Gongja sets out to change not only his life but the world.

This is such an interesting story, although I can sympathize with those rather put off by the beginning. Gongja is NOT an admirable protagonist at the start of his story. He's not just in miserable circumstances, he's also a miserable person to be around. He's so driven by jealousy (and later, a betrayed rage) that he commits suicide over 4000 times just to off the man responsible for shattering his view of the strongest.

There is some gallows humor in it all. And Gongja manages to make life worse for himself when he attempts to use his new copy skill to get some attack skill from the Blade Saint and learns the REAL reason behind the man's incredible swordsmanship.

This is also, however, the start of a story about a man who learns---through death, life, and everything in between---how to actually be someone strong but kind. Someone worthy of the title of the strongest, not just because they can conquer the Tower floors, but because they're truly worth of being examples for others. There are some fantastic arcs coming up, but even here we have a glimmer of that future direction, as Gongja privately vows to be nothing like the man he murdered.

He just needs time to grow.

The manhwa features beautiful artwork, which is always nice.

Overall this is a series I hope will one day get animated. Highly Recommended.

This was a fun introduction to an otherwise standard action/adventure tower/dungeon raiding fantasy universe. The main character is intriguing, but not particularly sympathetic; his allure lies in his normalness followed by his dedication in killing himself over 4000 times to turn back time far enough to murder his murderer. That's a bit of a mind-bending premise. It justifies the idea that his unique talent is being unafraid of death - he can attack harder and train harder having already faced death thousands of times, but also with the ability to essentially reset the day.

By the end of this volume there's not a huge emotional investment to keep you reading - a couple of side characters have been introduced, but there's not much in the way of overarching plot or grand narrative. All we have so far is the protagonist wanting to get more powerful for unspecified reasons; he's not trying to save anyone, he's not trying to get revenge anymore, he's not trying to overpower an enemy- he's just cruising along getting more skills and using his knowledge of the future to get allies.

I'll keep reading because I like the subtle humour and the dynamics between the existing characters, but I'll probably get bored if an emotional hook or a larger plot doesn't materialise in the near future. There's always fun to be had in story where an underdog overcomes the odds, but there still needs to be a bit more to it than that.

Big thanks to IZE Press for the e-ARC!

Okay, so jumping into this Manhwa/webtoon was like stepping into a dystopian fantasy world where they defeat monters and there are people called hunters and they are ranked from F to SSS being the highest I think?

Gongja Kim, literally the lowest of the low in the hunter ranks, who totally fangirls over the Flame Emperor, the ultimate hero. But plot twist: when he finally meets his idol, things get all kinds of messed up. Jealousy? Check. Lack of mad skills? Double check. Like, never meet your heroes, right?

I gotta say, I couldn’t help but think of “Solo Leveling” while reading, but this one throws its own crazy curveballs. Gongja doesn’t just level up; the dude has to die first. Yikes forever. It doesn't really happen once. Plus, he’s snagging new skills from these wild cards and can copy other people’s moves.

Though it didn’t totally hook me at first (might just need some time to get epic?), there were some funny moments in the story. A lot of them actually. If you're into underdogs and unexpected humor with a sprinkle of darkness, give it a shot. Might just surprise you like it did me!

This story follows an F-class hunter who envies the success of a powerful hunter known as the “Flame’s Emperor.” Due to his cringy jealousy (it literally says it on a page), a skill card appears, offering him a skill ranked higher than S-class. The catch? To obtain it, he must be killed by an enemy, allowing him to copy one of their skills.

The beginning wasn’t quite what I expected, but I still enjoyed it! Who would have thought that his “cringy” jealousy would lead to a life-changing skill? A few of the other characters haven’t recognized MC’s potential yet so I look forward to that! MC doesn’t fear death either when he discovered a way to time travel. The art is good, though the pacing felt a bit fast. In general, I love stories where a low-ranked character gets the chance to rise in power, strength, and respect—this one delivers on that. I would be interested in reading volume 2!

I'll be honest. The kind of regressing MC plot is interesting, reminds me of Solo Leveling, but as a Solo Leveling reader , I have loved the comic so much, putting this comic in the same sentence of Solo Leveling is kind of a taboo for me.

Respectfully, the premise or the plot of this comic is intriguing, yes, but the MC just ruined it for me. He's so pathetically annoying and reminds of those side characters that is a villain/ heroes wannabe.

I'm not sure if I wanna continue this, but I think I'll give the 2nd volume another shot, and hopefully, the MC there wouldn't be that much of annoying because I honestly wanna like this comic.

Thank you, Ize Press, for the e-arc opportunity via Edelweiss.

OMG I WAS NOT PREPARED FOR HOW GOOD IT WILL BE I finished this gorgeous physical copy and immediately read all the way to ch 80 online it gets better and better. You will cry adore the hero and his growth but also laugh out loud with him and mr. Confucius spirit. The power system is so cool and makes it unpredictable

Hero is so smart, kind and has unbelievable willpower and mental strength. The tower system isn't new but there's something special about this one. It's already a good start but soon vols 5 onwards it's a 10/10

So I've finished reading the whole 117 chapters manhwa. It's quite different from the other system power I read before. Usually the MC was so OP they succeed in the first try but this MC was quite different, the MC needs to die to gain power, not the most convenience and definitely hurts LOL. So he actually died over and over again to clear one mission LOL.

I'm not sure whether or not the manhwa will continue, cause from what read online, based on the novel there should be more to it. But the last chapter isn't really a cliffhanger or anything so it's fine.

A little weird how he got his powers for greed and jealousy, but then decided he wanted to save everyone and keep a low profile.
This protagonist has a hero complex, he wants to save everyone and uses his regression skill to do it, I don't think he really is a good person but he is perceived as one by other characters. Eventually the way he seemingly can effortlessly solve any situation gains him many followers.

SSS-Class Suicide/Revival Hunter
Manhwa
Volume#1
Chapters #1 - #10

The regression Manga Takes a very dark turn.
To end the villain - The Flame Emperor, what a name :p - he got himself 4000+ times
That's crazy but very good so far
Though the whole setup is not unique but it got something new to make it very good so far.

Enjoyable enough. Protagonist gets stronger each time he is killed by a new person. He starts off weak, gets stronger, is arrogant and borderline unlikeable. A fun read but nothing ground breaking. Will likely pick up future volumes but not in a rush.

3/25 Better than I expected! Not quite as good (complicated) as Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint, but in the same vein so I recommend this for fans of ORV. Looking forward to v. 2!

Interesting premise, the story is fun to read. I suspect I’ll have to move to the novel version of it before long since the manhwa is written to be digestible and may lack a lot of useful context.

thank you Edelweiss & IZE Press for the arc in exchange for my honest review

I have been on a Solo Leveling-isc binge. This one has been probably the closest to it, but it’s still unique. The MC got on my nerves for the first two chapters, but it got better. Some of the tropes were predicable, especially for the plot the flow, which I don’t really mind on this type genre. The spirit was an interesting idea.

Looking forward for the rest 👀
