Celebrate the season with this steamy, jammy conclusion to the Halifax Hellions novella series featuring all three Halifax couples (plus a new one too!).
Alexandra Vasti is a British literature professor by day and USA Today bestselling romance writer by night. After finishing her PhD at Columbia University, she moved to New Orleans with her family. Her books have received starred reviews from Publisher's Weekly, Booklist, Library Journal, BookPage, and Kirkus, and have been featured in The New York Times, NPR, Entertainment Weekly, People, and elsewhere.
This was soooo stinking cute! We had moments with each couple and saw how their families have grown in the 8 years since the end of the original novellas. There was also a moment between a new couple that was absolutely adorable. Loved seeing this family altogether at Christmastime. ^.^
I don’t know what it is but reading anything that vasti has written just makes me feel immediately…. Immersed in the story. They always have a warm and fuzzy quality and just make me feel happy.
The joy! The love! The jam! This was such a fun way to bring all of the Halifaxes (now the Mortimers and de Bords, as well) together and close out the series, which has become a new favorite of mine.
Cheers to the next generation, complete with the legendary “hellion attitude.” I, too, am grateful for having been a part of this fictional family for a little while, “every raucous and wild part of it.”
Everything my heart wanted and more! I love all the couples so much and it was so wonderful to catch up with them (about 8 years after the end of the series) and see what they’ve been up to and who has joined them. What a perfect update to the Mortimers, de Bords, and Halifaxes!
This is a "newsletter novella" so if you've read the Halifax Hellions and want a sexy li'l update on their lives, you should get this, stat.
It's 40 pages and 5 chapters of all of our favorite characters plus some new cuties coming together for a family reunion around the holidays. A Halifax Holiday is literally the sweetest, spiciest series epilogue of all time. No, it's not a standalone; even I, one of the most chaotic romance readers I know, think you should pick this up without reading the other books. But once you have, this is the warm hug (with sex scenes) you want after finishing the series.
22-Word Summaries:
Laine: The Halifaxs get all of the happily ever afters (deservedly so) and all of the sex had something to do with babies.
Meg: The Halifaxes come together for the holiday spectacular of your dreams, featuring cute kids, tasty dessert, and Henry + Margo getting it on.
A wonderful and festive way to wrap up these lovely novellas. My main complaint about this series was the lack of epilogues for each story, so I thoroughly enjoyed seeing all of the Halifax siblings together again along with their significant others and children. This tale shone a spotlight on each of the couples as well as featuring Bea in a new pairing, and the content here is sweet as well as spicy.
"You are everything good in the world." "You are the world," he said, "to me."
"It’s not about the accomplishment for Margo," he said. "It's about the joy." The joy. The words—the rightness of them—seemed to take up residence in Spencer’s heart."
Grief turned in him like an old coin, familiar, worn soft and smooth from handling.
Perfect little Christmas story to tell us all how the Halifaxes are getting along with their marriages and children years later. Margot is still chaos, Mattie is still in knots over her husband, Winnie is still the consummate businesswoman, and all of them are still gloriously flawed and perfect. A sweet little cherry on top of my favorite novellas.
a short, sweet and jammy (!!!) conclusion to the series.
really enjoyed these books i thought we might have gotten a bit more elsie and bea but again mattie and christian carried this novella on their backs and they weren’t even in it much.
can lydia’s book hurry up so i have more alexandra books to read pls and thanks
I don't know why I didn't read this right after finishing all the other Halifax Hellions books, but here we are. This was a cute epilogue to the series, with the characters we were introduced to in the books living their best lives, and some new additions (children and gay sisters!!!) having a grand time at Christmas.
And I thought "jammy" was a euphemism when I read the description. Ha.
A bit more than I'd like, but I still got what I wanted, which was the interaction between the in-laws. That scene between Winnie and Christian? 😍 It was great to see Bea again, too.
I am a huge fan of holiday books, particularly series reunion stories. A Halifax Holiday did not disappoint! Siblings, spouses and a lovely collection of offspring made this check-in with the Mortimers, de Bords and Halifaxes an absolute delight!!
love so much this novella with all the siblings and in laws in one place together!!! i really needed that plus points with the niblings 🩷, however, why don't they give me the full wlw couple novel/novella?
I loved this opportunity to revisit the Halifax family down the road, and I am constantly amazed how great Alexandra Vasti’s short fiction is. This is a wonderful epilogue for the Halifax Hellions series!
Wrapped it up well. I could read volumes more about these couples, this family. I would have liked this to be longer, more in depth. But it was very satisfying. Alexandra Vasti quickly becoming a must read author.
It was a pleasant jaunt to go back to the Halifaxes and get updates on their happy lives. This takes place several years after the original books and it is almost as if it is a second epilogue of happily ever after that takes place during Christmas time.
You can't read this on its own, it's a Christmas novella featuring our three Halifax couples and one bonus queer couple that was a lovely surprise. I loved everyone's scenes but Margo and Henry truly have my heart and the last few sentences are pitch perfect. Merry Christmas!
So wonderful to visit with old friends. I love Vasti’s writing. This was “only” a 4.5 because I need these characters in my life all the time and I’ve only ever gotten novellas. Even so, it’s amazing what Vasti can do in such a short book.
It was so fun seeing the entire Halifax family together in this holiday novella! I loved seeing Margo, Matilda, and Winnie back together and still full of chaos. It would be great to see more of Elsie and Bea together!
but why did everyone EXCEPT winnie and spencer get to fuck???? i'll only allow it because instead we got winnie and her team of welsh spinning and knitting artisans making high fashion lace stockings which is hyperspecifically suited to my interests
