Rate this book
"An easy-to-digest, well-balanced introductory work that focuses on the art of psychiatric practice and walks the reader through such need-to-know topics as diagnostic categories, classes of agents, dosing, side effects and fundamental pharmacologist principles with impressive clarity"PsychoFarm's Treating Depression provides an insightful and practical guide to understanding and managing depression. Unlike dense textbooks, this unique resource offers a concise and accessible synthesis of key pharmacological concepts through an informal, conversational style.

"Treating depression is never easy, but it’s a lot easier with PsychoFarm’s authoritative new book, Guide to Treating Depression, a cogent yet comprehensive primer on everything a physician might want to know on depression. In contrast to classic resources like Stahl’s or Kaplan & Sadock’s, designed primarily for reference, Malzberg’s volume provides an easy-to-digest, well-balanced introductory work that focuses on the art of psychiatric practice and walks the reader through such need-to-know topics as diagnostic categories, classes of agents, dosing, side effects and fundamental pharmacologist principles with impressive clarity. This is the rare psychiatric text that continues to improve my clinical practice on a daily basis."

Quite simply the best book I have ever read regarding the pharmacological treatment of depression. I plan on ordering additional copies, and if I were teaching on a PMHNP program, would make this required reading. It cuts through the noise and gives nothing but pearls in a very accessible and casual (but not diluted) way.
