Freedom Is: Liberating Your Boundless Potential

Rate this book
“This book is written to give you a living experience of freedom.” These are the opening words of Freedom Is — and this book delivers exactly what they promise. Written by Brandon Bays, who has won praise from Anthony Robbins, Deepak Chopra, Wayne Dyer, and other luminaries in the personal growth field, this is a road map to freedom in the truest sense: freedom on all levels of being. Bays, who began her inspirational work after healing a large tumor through natural means, uses her trademark simple, sure, and gentle approach to guide readers toward the stillness and joy within them. A popular seminar and workshop leader, she draws on that experience to help readers eliminate emotional blocks, lift away negative self-images, and release past limitations. Freedom Is contains powerfully effective process work, user-friendly tools, meditations, contemplations, and inspiring stories from the author's popular seminars.

Many of spend our whole lives searching. Perhaps, we are trying to find that something that will make us good enough, perfect, or worthy of love. Still, it seems that the more effort we put into the search, the less we actually seem to find.

What if we already had everything we needed to be whole? What if the entire time we had been searching for just that right job, the perfect spouse, that right dogma, or the ultimate therapist we had already had all the tools we needed. What if we found out that all that energy we spent running away from our feelings, our natural inclinations, and our flaws was actually making our journey more difficult? What if we found out that we could make a change right here and now and for the rest of our lives?

Freedom Is explores these and many other life changing notions. Based upon the popular Journeywork, the author explores effortless being; nonattachment; present-moment awareness, honoring and reverence; emotions, gratitude, love, forgiveness, and enlightenment.

I thought the material in Freedom Is was well presented and approachable. I felt extremely safe in the hands of the author as I began to explore some very personal, deeply hidden, and potentially scary issues. Moreover, after completing the book, I felt strong enough to carry what I had learned into my real life. One thing I do suggest though is that you also purchase the CD that accompanies this book. It will make the meditations and exercises a whole lot easier to accomplish without having to try to create your own.

This book was just what I was needing at the time. It opened my eyes to a new way of looking at life, and actually gave me a way to apply the concept she was trying to get across in ordinary day to day life.

It's message is similar as some of the other hoopla that's out right now, such as "Let Go" and "Go With the Flow", to which I could only respond, "Let Go of WHAT? What exactly am I letting go of?!" and "Flow?...there's a flow somewhere...where am I and why am I in this handbasket?" But finally (the universe must have heard my blood-curdling scream everytime someone said that), this book allowed me to understand the essence of what exactly they're all talking about.

Maybe I'm "on the short bus" in this life and needed it spelled out v-e-r-y s-l-o-w-l-y (hey throw in some pictures while you're at it) because I don't necessarily understand things unless it's spelled out and obvious. I don't speak in riddles and I don't learn in riddles either. Speaking in "mystic" is over-rated. Just serve it to me raw and straight.

I enjoyed this book very much, but it would have been nice to have the meditation CD's sold with the book. I will come back to this book later and possibly order them later. Overall, the highlighter was out... I liked the stories that accompanied each chapter. Abundance & blessings wished upon every soul and gratitude to Brandon Bays for the delightful read.

This is a practical and necessary book for anyone who wants to change their life. Here's Brandon Bay's ways you can change your thoughts and your lifestyle.

Much is based on the fact that we should be able to rest in silence through meditation and thought changes. Brandon wants us to live in the present and let go of the past, which only keeps us trapped in an old pattern of thought. Now the only thing that exists and that matters.

After interviewing Brandon, I had the opportunity to take part in one of her courses where I got proof of her way of working. We processed for three days and thus had the opportunity to work with what Brandon calls "The Journey" and is the name of her first book. There she tells about her cancerous tumor that disappeared after her thought work and change of her diet.

The subtitle of the book is, "Open yourself to your inner wisdom" , which is our limitless potential to find peace and from it create what we really like to work with.

This can be quite difficult, but with the help of Brandon's processing exercises, one can slowly but surely understand and realize oneself to a more harmonious person.

The book that was published in 2006 in Swedish is unfortunately out of date but is available in English.
