Great series
This is Book 2 of The Mackintosh Clan Series and best read in order for the overall stories surrounding each member of the Mackintosh family.
With this story we explore the feelings Bran Mackintosh realises too late that he has for his childhood friend Ilyssa MacBean.
With something not quite right about the sudden way a betrothal between two feuding clans happens, Bran and Ilyssa’s brother Laird Tad set out to make things right and save Ilyssa from a man she doesn’t want to wed.
Along the journey to meet her betrothed Bran and Ilyssa realise what they mean to each other.
There are steamy scenes and danger as they try to fight their way to their own happy ending.
A really enjoyable story in this series.

In this friends to lovers romance Bran Mackintosh and Ilyssa MacBean grew up together as close friends. It wasn’t until a mysterious letter shows up in Laird Tad MacBeans study that declares that his grandfather made a pact with Laird Gilroy Grant betrothing his granddaughter Ilyssa to Laird Gilroy Grant’s son Cillian Grant that Bran and Ilyssa realize that what they feel for each other is more than friendship. Can Tad get his sister out of this betrothal or will Ilyssa and Bran have to resort to other means to get out of it!! This is a great book and 2nd in the Mackintosh Clan series that is written by 5 different authors!! I suggest reading them in order to get the full reading enjoyment!!

This is Book 2 of The Mackintosh Clan Series. Although it is probably better to read book one first this can be read and enjoyed as a stand alone.
This series follows the siblings of the Mackintosh Clan – four brothers and one sister as well as close friends from another clan.
This story is about Bran Mackintosh and Ilyssa MacBean. Bran and Ilyssa grew up as friends. When a contract suddenly appears that betroths Illysa to another clan, they start to realise that there may be more to their feelings than they knew.
Is there a way to stop this betrothal or will Illysa be forced to marry a man a stranger?
There is suspense, intrigue, betrayal and steamy romance.

Second book - Friends to lovers.
Bran has been in love with Ilyssa since they were no more than children, but he didn’t understand his feelings. Ilyssa had the same unexpressed feelings for Bran. When her brother Tad discovers a marriage contract signed by his grandfather between Ilyssa and the Grant clan heir he is stumped to find a way out of it. This sudden potential marriage has forced the feelings between Bran and Ilyssa out in the open. But what can be done. I enjoyed the story and the characters but there were some editing errors that were a bit annoying.

great story
The family dynamic with the breathtaking story make this one of the best books I have read. I love how the family ties are described so that we are pulled into the story and made to feel connected as if it’s happening around us. Then the romance and intimacy add that spark that we all look for in a great story we can dream about. I just can’t say enough about how I can’t wait to read the next book in this series! Great job!

Book 2 in my new vacation series. I like that different authors have collaborated to create this unique series. The perfect vacation read as this was an engaging story filled with personable characters. Bran and his headstrong, mischievous, lady finally, in the last minutes, acknowledge their mutual attraction. She’s betrothed to another so is it too late? Read and enjoy to find out.

This story line just keeps getting better! I read this in 1 day. Didn't get anything done at my house but it was worth it. This is a story of love, lies and family. Worth every second you read. It goes from childhood friends to finding love to marriage. Fantastic writing keeps your interest.

This was a good book. Sometimes jealousy and hate causes feuds with two clans. It seems like our ancestors fought for the right to live.
