Fact 1:
Deon Ashleigh is enjoying talking to new reviewers of her sci-fi debut, The Price of a Beating Heart, and she’s excited to add more people to that list.

Fact 1.5:
Kindle, paperback, hardcover, large print.
Yup, her book is on Amazon.

Fact 2
She is not a bestselling author—she can hardly sell a taste bud to a burnt tongue.

Fact 3:
She still writes.
She writes harsh worlds filled with loving and hopeful characters that don't make sense. Humans, you know?

Fact 3.5:
Science fiction and coming-of-age stories are her only addictions. Oh, and tea. And eggs. And Bran Flakes. And nonexistence—this addiction hooked her at eight.

Fact 4:
This biography is obscenely long.

Fact 6:
She loves typing.

Facts 5-8? (Too lazy to count):
Deon envisions a world where love is as plentiful as insects and science fiction books fall from the sky.

She was born 1 pound, 7 ounces and makes mistakes. She used to be able to be held in the palm of your hand.

But it's been many years since this author slept under a soft rag, and she's grown into an average-sized nonbinary female with an oversized imagination.

Usually, she doesn't talk much, but when she does, you'll wish you hadn't even looked in her direction. Like this biography. Ridiculous. Wrapping up.

Why does she write sci-fi?
Because only in science fiction can she wield that big, beautiful creativity of hers—and ask all those unanswerable what-if questions.

Who does she live with? Where?
No one. She's a stunning single in Tennessee, without pets or children as of 2021, but she hopes to one day travel the world with a wife and husband.

That's it.

Have a lovely day, and keep reading!
There are tons of new worlds to visit.

I received an arc of this for free and I am giving this review voluntarily, all opinions are my own.
Thank you to the author for sending me this arc.
This was an enjoyable little read, it was short and to the point and it wasn't slow-paced or anything. If anything, it started with a bang with the first sentence. There were some errors I believe but that could have just been me reading in google docs (long story)

The main character wasn't annoying but I did wish we could have gotten flashbacks into the characters life and maybe even learnt their name (I don't recall their name being mentioned)
I guess it makes the character more mysterious though.
I did like that there wasn't a lot of info-dumping, I can't wait to learn more about this world.
