*sigh* This plot had a lot of potential, and the writing was well done, and the characters were interesting... and yet I was bored. :( Everything seemed to be put together well, but the story just seemed slow & I skipped around a lot trying to get to the heart of the story. I'm going to try another story in this series because I liked all the pieces & want to see if they come together in a better way (for me) in another story. : )

Would you do anything just to feel loved?
Endure anything?
This book explores that. And WOAH, my book people!
You're in for an out of CONTROL ride!
4 CRAZY GOOD ***** from little 'ol me...!!!!

This is book #2 of the Coldcreek series. It can be read as a standalone and has an HEA. There is no cheating in this book though there are many thoughts.

NOTE: This book does deal with emotional and physical abuse. This book is written in dual POV which makes me super happy! As always, I won't give the plot away or reveal anything I think could take away from you actually reading the book. I despise spoilers!!

This was a book that captured my attention from 2% on! I was immediately furious at Paige and I hated Craig. Pretty revealing? Well... Paige has been with Craig for a few months now and things were going fine. But isn't that how it all starts? As 'fine'? Paige is beautiful, smart, witty, she's got great friends - who dislike Craig by the way - and she's down to earth. She comes from a family with money like the Kardashian's and as cold as the winter Ohio is having about now. Paige has She's got all this going for her and she finds herself dating this douche-canoe. And oh baby can he be charming! But he's a jerk and we all know it from the first few pages. But someone doesn't...Paige. I wanted to throw my kindle many times in frustration over their relationship. It was hard for me to sit back and watch it all unfold. I know that from the outside things are a little clearer and sometimes it's hard to see what's really happening but why oh why would she allow herself to be treated that way? I had to keep reminding myself of where she came from...her family. Paige wants to be AND feel loved.

"But why did you tell her I was an accounting major?

Because it sounds better than saying you're undecided, and having them think you're a moron or a slacker."

Cameron is... everything she needs. Many of Craig's friends disliked him. Cameron could piss off a room full of people pretty quickly - if he wanted to. But that was all a front. He's full of life and adventure. He oozed sexiness and confidence and yet was flirty enough about it, his banter with Paige never seemed like a line. Cameron was just enough bad-boy with charm. He was funny, smart, motivated. He's intent on LIVING life and not letting it pass him by. Cameron was used to not being sure where he was headed or how long he'd be there. When he sees Paige and realizes she's with Craig, he just can't figure out why. Especially after getting to know her more. Not only does he think she's gorgeous, but he likes what is happening inside her head as well. For the first time in a long time, he enjoys someone's company. The worst of it...she wouldn't wake up and realize Craig wasn't worth it.

"Some would describe me as a trust fund baby addict with asshole tendencies. I liked to describe myself as someone who knew how to live life to the fullest and had a $#*!-ton of personality."

When Cameron and Paige are together, they are truly amazing. The sexual tension while she's still with Craig and guilt that consumes her because of the feelings that start to stir is crazy electric!! He sees her and there is something between them that is so strong. You could feel it in every word he would say about her or to her. As things get more and more intense in the book, I found myself reading and then taking a huge deep breath. The highs and lows of this book are amazing and when one says 'it was a roller coaster ride', well this book really is. She's on eggshells with Craig. Paige and Cameron have this tangible 'thing'. And there's so much more I want to tell you - although I really dislike spoilers, I'm not very good at keeping secrets! This book was great. I always want to FEEL what I'm reading. Not just read it and this author certainly delivered that for me. There are many scenes you read and you become more than the reader. At one point - I actually have a note in my Kindle - I felt as if I was also the character. For Paige, it was experiencing some of the emotional hardships she faced and with Cameron, having to watch it all unfold knowing what the likely outcome would be. I have felt many emotions reading this book...anger, sadness, frustration. I laughed - a lot actually! It made me happy and elated even towards the end.

Review:

I couldn't wait to get my hands into more of Ms. Snyder's books, specially the Coldcreek novels, and I had my chance, not only to read Control You, but to be part of the blog tour. So thank you WordSmith Publicity and Jennifer Snyder for this opportunity.

I like the Coldcreek novels because they always focus on some hard topics that make some times hard to please the readers. However, Jennifer wrote a wonderful story about and abusive boyfriend with a great writing and a enjoyable story.
Once you start reading this new novel, you completely understand why the author named this book Control You.

Paige's been dating Craig for several months. They both come from families with money and even thought she should behave like the others or so they think, she's far from a snob like they are. It's pretty clear from the very first page that they don't belong together; they don't share any common interest. With Cameron's arrival to Coldcreek, Craig becomes more jealous and abusive than normal, even bordering the annoying.
The main character, Paige, has also a family background that doesn't help her case. She feels that her parents only take into account what image she can offer to others. And it's completely true: they are beyond shallow and snobs.

The characters were well-created, each with its own personalities and problems. There's Craig, Paige's boyfriend, who has a problem with anger. Even from the start you know that he's one of those douchebags who like to keep a façade and who enjoys from making others suffer. At least, that was the impression he gave me. I hated him from the very first glimpse I had of him and it was kind of frustrating that the main character wouldn't cut things from the very first moment he offended her. So yes, Craig's one of those characters that would win all those bad adjectives a man can receive.

Paige seemed like the type of person who knew what she wanted. It was kind of a miracle that she was not a snob since she grew up with a snob family and snob friends. And even when she didn't know what to do with her life in the future, she was not embarrassed to say so. I liked her, so I was not expecting her to be one of those girls who always makes excuses for the guy when he's being a completely jackass and is mistreating her.

As for Cameron... He's not a golden boy. He does drugs and drinks and he's living his life careless. But there's a reason for that (don't want to make any spoilers). However, he's something different, too. He's not like Craig or his friends. He's more like Paige, a real and good guy with a bad-boyish appearance who always blurts out what he's thinking. I like his snarky attitude and that despite the appearances he ended up being the good and reasonable boy.

It was also nice to see the gang again and to see how the main characters from Before You were doing, since it ended kind of abruptly to me. They are amazing and you simply have a lot of fun with them.

The plot was great. The story was a difficult one to approach, but the author managed to do it perfectly and showed all the consequences of keeping a guy like Craig by your side. There were also some details that I would have liked to know like what really happened to Cameron's family, for example, or see a little bit more about his addiction. But overall I liked the story and kept reading until I knew what would happen between Paige and Cameron.

Jennifer Snyder did once a again a great job with this new Coldcreek novel, with a good storyline and realistic characters that you would get fond of without even realizing it. I will definitely wait for more Coldcreek novels.

My Take on this Journey:

Control You, by Jennifer Snyder, book two of the Coldcreek series, was riveting. What can I say? When I see a book written by Ms. Snyder, I have to pick it up, and I know I won't be able to put it down till the last word is read. Ms. Snyder pulls her readers in immediately, makes them feel their way through her stories, till they feel like they belong there. This novel was no different.

Control You continues from where Break You ended. We get Paige, Craig, and Cameron's story. This novel is fast paced, written in dual perspective, and all encompassing. Paige is dating Craig, an ego maniac, full of himself, manipulative, and sneaky. Unfortunately, Paige is gullible and naive. She doesn't see the way he works her with his sweet words, till it is almost too late, but her friends see right through him.

Craig has a way of making Paige feel guilty for feeling anything other than what he wants. She is so needy for affection, that she makes excuses for his emotionally abusive attitude, and the disrespectful way he treats her. It is unacceptable, but Paige lets it happen over and over again.

Paige goes to a party at Craig's with his upscale friends and doesn't fit in. She is uncomfortable and put in an awkward position when a female friend approaches her about her major. Paige finds out that Craig lied about the fact that she is undecided. He makes an excuse that he wanted her to look better in front of his friends and not like a slacker. At this point, the reader realizes what a creep her boyfriend is. Paige goes out of the house and comes face to face with a tattooed, gorgeous hunk of man, Cameron.

Cameron is sexy, and has a way with words. There is an immediate attraction and the banter is a bit over the top. They both start laughing hysterically, when Craig comes out and becomes enraged. He is so jealous, he can't see straight.

This was the beginning of a new eye opening experience, for which Paige will feel guilt and remorse. Cameron is something else. He has it all, but believe me when I say, he has been around the block in more ways than one. He lives in the moment, and teaches Paige how to do the same, though it takes a while to get her there.

This novel gets under the readers skin, and Ms. Snyder will make them feel every emotion as it occurs. They will be on the ride of a lifetime, and it isn't all good. There are some very dark subjects, as only Ms. Snyder knows how to get to the crux of your soul. This novel is another roller coaster ride of emotions. You will laugh hysterically one minute, then cringe at the emotional and physical abuse, swoon over the love scenes, and want to shake Paige when she just doesn't get how she is being used. The readers anger will overflow at times.

Craig will make your skin crawl, makes Paige insecure, unsure, tentative, and guilty. Cameron makes her want things, become lighthearted, fun, happy go lucky, and want to show her how to live by the seat of her pants, but she doesn't think she should have those feelings, because of some misplaced duty to the evil, sick minded Craig. Paige is loyal to a fault, but doesn't act on anything with Cameron, even though Craig accuses her of it. Cameron is the complete opposite of Craig. The novel comes full circle, and Paige and Cameron will have their day, but at what cost.

Control You will leave the reader reeling. There is only one way to live in the moment, and Ms. Snyder will take you there. The magnetic, sizzling, sex appeal between Cameron and Paige is combustible and will leave you breathless.

I give Control You, by Jennifer Snyder, 5 Manipulative, Abusive, Seductive, Sexy, Gravely, Tingly, Combustible, Wanton Stars!!!

*****I received an ARC in exchange for honest review*****

"Control You" is Paige Jacobs’s story who was Blaire’s roommate from the first book in the series, and I had a feeling that she was worthily of her own book.

Paige dating Craig who is a bit of a jerk, they have only been together for a few months, and he is staring to show is true colours when he starts to become jealous, abusive stalker-ish. From the very beginning, I just wanted to….. Yes you have guessed it punch him.

I liked Paige she was sweet, funny, and had a sensible head on her although not when it came to Craig, Paige knows that things are not working that this is not how relationships should be but because she just wants to be loved and the added fact that Craig can be very charming when he wants to be Paige lets him get away with the way he treats her. So at times I felt sorry for Paige as you can see the emotional conflict that she is going through, but other time she frustrated me times with some of the choices she was making.

Cameron is great, he may have looked all bad- boyish on the outside, but he was a good guy, and I really liked him. Loved the relationship he had with his best friend Eve. Loved that he said what he was thinking made me laugh so many times.

The storyline is told from dual POV worked well, you get to see their fear and their vulnerability especially Paige. Paige and Cameron are great together; they have great sexual tension, and great banter. Cameron really was the person to show her that she deserved better. I liked that her never pushed her he wanted her to come to her senses, and see it for herself the she deserved better.

It was great seeing Blaire, Jason and Lauren again and getting a little snippet into what was happening in there lives. I will say that I did feel that some aspect of the storyline were slightly rushed, or skipped over, and I would have like a few more details. I would have liked more about Cameron’s background and what happen to his parents. Every so often I got confused with the timeline.

Overall I enjoyed “Control You” and the premise of the story one that I’m sure some readers will relate to. I liked the ending it was sweet, but did think it ended too soon, but I would have liked a bit with the new side of Paige and Cameron however that being said as there will be more books from this series I’m sure like Blaire and Jason we will get more of Paige and Cameron in future books.

“There was something between us, something strong. I felt it in the heat that sparked between us each time we were one other”.

“Sometimes we all needed to be reminded of things worth remembering”

“Paige isn’t the type you chase. She’s the kind you hang around and wait for to comes to her senses. “if the friend to more type.”

“If you were mine I’d never hurt you the way that asshole does. Ever”

Something was happening. I couldn’t deny it. There was something there; I felt for her what I’d never felt for anyone before. I truly cared for her”

I will have to say, I really liked Control You by Jennifer Snyder! I was kind of on the fence about it at first, but I ended up enjoying the book. Jennifer really knows how to write a compelling story and develops her characters so well that you end up wanting to know more about them. I hope she is in the works of writing stories for both Lauren & Eva. So here is my review :)

At first, I didn't feel like this was the same Paige from "Break You". I can't quite explain it, but I just didn't feel like this was the same Paige who painted her nails a different color everyday and wore crazy outlandish outfits in different colors. Still, I liked her character and the way I envisioned her was more chic than alternative.

I LOVED Cameron! He was such a well rounded guy. And his introduction to Paige "Hi, my name is Cameron. My dick isn't as big as everyone says it is;it's just that money holds the power to make shit grow in people's minds." then when Paige is dumbfounded, he says "Oh, I'm sorry. I thought from your little intro this was circle time and the whole class was supposed to share. I liked learning about his parents and his past struggles with addiction and how he overcame it all. I feel like Cameron is someone who is REAL (if that makes any sense).

I also highlighted a funny quote while they were at dinner with friends and Paige is thinking.. "He was one of those guys who were so gorgeous and had such an amazing accent, they could say, "I just stepped in dog shit", and it would sound hot".....I literally laughed out loud reading that part :)

I loved the little tidbits of Blaire and Jason's life as well, I was kind of disappointed in the way "Break You" ended, so it was nice to see how their relationship was evolving. With that being said, I didn't love the ending to this book so much either. However, I guess the author just knows how to keep you wanting more

So here's my problem... And this is something I also wrote in my review of "Break You"....These book covers just do not work for me. I'm not trying to judge these people and say that they aren't "good-looking" enough but they just do not fit with the characters. I am a visual reader, and when I read I try to picture in my head what is happening. When a cover has the characters on it, it's hard for me to get that picture out of my head. And if i was not reading and reviewing these books, I never would have chosen them from Amazon. But that's just ME.

All in all, I absolutely recommend this book to anyone who likes a cute love story and I am looking forward to more Coldcreek Novels :)

Jennifer Snyder is a new to me author and I have been missing out on some really good books! This is the second book in the series, however, it can be read as a stand alone book. Jennifer Snyder did a great job with this new Coldcreek novel, it has a good storyline and realistic characters that you get fond of and enjoy reading about without even realizing it. Once the story is complete you start to miss them as if they were real friends. I enjoy the Coldcreek novels because they always focus on some hard topics that make the readers have to think and wonder about things that aren't so happy. However, Jennifer wrote a wonderful story about and abusive boyfriend with a great writing and a enjoyable story. Control You is Paige Jacobs’s story who was Blaire’s roommate from the first book in the series, Ms. Snyder pulls her readers in immediately and makes them feel like they belong there. The plot was great, the story was well written and the words just flowed smoothly. The story was a difficult one to approach, but the author managed to do it perfectly and showed all the consequences of keeping a guy like Craig by your side.

3 stars - A sweet and important story

First Impressions...

That title gave me pause - I'm kinda strong willed and no one controls me. So I was interested to see this girl that might have stumbled into letting someone control her. And I really wondered about the guy that convince her to leave the situation.

The Characters...

Craig. So don't like the guy. Don't even like the name. I saw it immediately. I wanted to shake Paige and tell her to run away from him. Stalker with a side of scary, so don't like him.

Cameron. Kept wondering what the heck had Cameron ever done to Craig to make him hate him so much. Of course Cameron doesn't fit Craig's perfect idea of what's acceptable. Snubby much? Everything I saw from Cameron was perfect. He's caring of his friends. He's sweet and yummy with Paige. He helps people. Yeah, he went through some tough times but he's a good guy in a tatted, swearing kinda way.

Paige. Just wanted to shake her. She's a strong girl with some different ideas then her stuck up mother. I wonder how she came from her parents. She was way more down to earth. I really liked her and I didn't like seeing Craig treat her as if she wasn't smart enough to make her own decisions.

Eva. I really like this girl. She's Cameron's best friend and one can hope the girl gets her own book.

The Story...

I enjoyed the story. I figured things out pretty quickly but I liked how it went so it was all good. I do think the writing felt like a new author. It could have been a little more polished.

Could I Put It Down...

It wasn't by choice. I would have read it straight through if I'd had the time. It's a sweet story and I enjoyed it.

In The End...

This book can stand alone although it is the second in the series. The ages of the characters make it New Adult but it has a more contemporary feel to me. The issues are serious but the story is pleasant. Anyone who enjoys a good contemporary romance with a story that involves a little more than the romance will enjoy this one.

Original review at Gabic Reads as part of the Control You Blog Tour. Control You Blog Tour.

Paige has been dating Craig for several months. He's a nice guy, but he's starting to get a little strange. Eventually, he becomes jealous and abusive. I believe the reason Paige stayed with him is because he made her feel wanted by somebody. Especially when they slept together. Sometimes he gave her these looks that made her feel like the center of the world. Her parents made her feel unwanted and unappreciated. So she satisfied those needs in her relationship with Craig, even when things took a turn toward the worse.

Cameron is awesome. He's so sweet, yet bed-boyish at the same time. I know you didn't think it was possible, but it is ;) His inappropriate comments were hilarious. His and Eva's relationship is adorable! I predict that the next book will be about her.

It was great to see Blaire and Jason again!! And Tinley is so freaking adorable!!

My reason for giving 3 stars instead of 4: I loved the characters and storyline. Some of the time jumps were awkward though. Like, the scene where Paige breaks up with Craig was skipped over. Important scenes like that that readers want to see. And I don't know hoe much time passed between the start of the book and the end. I assume more than 5 weeks because of the deal Paige made with her parents, but it was unclear. Also, some background details weren't explained. Like how did Cameron's parents die? Little stuff like that.

If you just want a good storyline and good characters, Control You is the book for you. It's cute and fun. Definately pick it up. I can't wait to read about the next person in the group!

** I was given a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review **

I think this book had loads of potential. I liked the thought of our heroine (Paige) having to make some tough decisions and stand up for herself. I liked the idea of her growing as a character and realizing that she is better than the crap guy she has. But it took entirely too long for her to get to that point.

Paige is extremely confident in her decision to drop out of school. Very confident in her decision to open her own business. Very confident and competent in convincing her parents that she they should invest. And equally confident and competent in making her dream come true, with regard to her small business. However, for all of Paige's confidence in literally every other aspect of her life, she appears to lack all confidence in the relationship side :( She spent too long vacillating between "I'm not that girl" and "he is just misunderstood". The guy was a total @ss from the first chapter. DROP HIM ALREADY!

Cameron, however, was very well written and engaging as a character. He was cocky & arrogant when necessary and sweet & loving when necessary. I loved that he had gone through so much and come out in a better place in the end. I loved the character development with him - he was complex and interesting.

The supporting characters were just "meh" for me. I had a hard time understanding the age range on the friends. It seemed like they were all supposed to be college aged (?) but I couldn't be sure since there was a proposal near the end (which, I might add involved a couple that was together for maybe 6 months??).

It was just a little disjointed for me and seemed to end in the middle of a scene for no good reason. I wish I could've liked this more but it was just ok.

I received a copy for an honest review!

I read the first book in the series, Break You. I loved it. so naturally I wanted to read this book.
This one was a little harder to get into. But possible because I was stuck on the story of Blaire. Paige is Blaire's roommate and I loved her character in Break You so its great for her to get her own story.
However... I wanted to knock some sense into her at times about her choices she made with Craig.
I related a lot with this book because I have been in a similar situation where I was a "not so good" guy and a the good guy came a long and told me I could do better. Cameron in this case is the good guy.
My situation was very similar in the fact that Cameron let her see it for herself that she needed better or deserved better he never forced himself on her or tried to pull her away from Craig. I related to that and my "good guy" actually stepped way for a while and would only text me every few days to see how things were but would throw his charm in there like Cameron would and say he missed me and tell me all those things a girl wanted to hear that he knew the other guy wasn't telling me.

Any how.... I enjoyed how the storyline kind of picked up from Break You including other characters and some of the same storyline too. Its not just a spin off book with characters from a previous book.
I enjoyed this book, just wish I was able to reach through the pages and beat the heck out of Craig!

I was given an eBook for an honest review.

This is one of those books where I really wish GR had half stars, because this is more of a 3.5 star book.

Paige was an interesting main character. Even though I wanted to dropkick her ass through most of the book, she's a sweety. A dim sweety, but a sweety nonetheless. Things I didn't get about Paige:
1) Why not Business Management? It's a good major and totally would have serves you well.
2) Is this seriously how uber rich people act? I don't know, so I rolled with it. A bit kardasian-ish from what little I have seen.
3) I can't say. But I wanna dropkick this chick.

Cameron is pretty cool. Edgy, angsty, mysterious, hot.... he's got it all. But the Eva thing...I dunno. I didn't read the first book, so maybe there is more about them there....but I had a hard time with that relationship.

Craig. You SOB. Normally I hate triangles. You love both guys and it's painful as a reader. Not a problem here. Craig, you're a d-bag. That is all.

All in all this was a pretty good book. I never wanted to stop reading, even when I wanted to through my phone across the room (it's what I read on), I couldn't, I had to see what happened.
I would recommend reading book one first. There are allusions to it that would make more sense if I had read it.

Received from the author for a honest review. Control You is the second book of the Coldcreek Series by Jennifer Snyder. Paige was Blaire's roommate and bestfriend. Paige doesn't know what to do with her life but she knows that time is running out with her parents money. She needs to get it together. Craig her boyfriend seems to think she needs to find a direction too. For her to fit in his perfect mold. Cameron has been running for a long time. It is that time of the year for him to stop by and give his signature. He hates coming back. It brings back all those bad memoirs of his parents.
This book can be read as a stand alone but it does continue front he first book. Paige and Cameron have a nice story. I think this one was better written then the first. I am enjoying getting to know all of the great characters. Look forward to another Coldcreek love story. Hopefully Eva is next! Or Lauren.

This book is much better than the first to me. Paige is likable and Cameron is Hot..Not what you think Paige would go after...And than there i Craig which i couldn't wait to get rid of.

Good writing even though I do feel like there is parts missing; like Cameron's family or his addiction but still an ok one time read. The story is told from dual POV which I am liking more and more b/c I love hearing the story from the guys POV. My rating is 2.5 stars b/c this wasn't a read that I couldn't put down in fact it took me days to read. No alpha male and still on the boring side for me. The plot of this series is ok but it gets lost somewhere in the middle.

This was given to me by the author in exchange for an honest review.

Hands down my favorite character was Cameron. I found that he had charisma and he just appealed to me all across the board. Even though he had his faults, he learned from his past and kept moving forward. I loved Eva as his best Friend.

Paige was a different story. She was confident when it came to making choices for starting her business. She was even quite confident and normal with Cameron right from the beginning. Yet when it came to Craig, a jerk of a guy she hadn't really been involved with that long, she was a complete mess. That drove me a little crazy.

Overall, It didn't fully have my attention and it took a while for me to finish the book. It was an ok read for me.

I have to say book #2 in this series was a much better read for me.

The book flowed well. I felt like you got to know the lead character Paige, and Cam pretty well before they were thrown into anything together. You can almost foresee what will happen with the story line though. The only problem I seem to have is the ending felt a bit rushed. It was as if the lead up to the ending was not all there. You almost feel like you are missing a few elements that would close up the ending.

I still think this book is worth the read. It is a quick, and enjoyable read.

This second book was SO great! Craig was complete jerk and cleary had some deeper issues going on. It would have been nice to see Paige NOT give him so. many.chances...but Im glad that in the end she came to her senses. I totally fell in love with Cam...what a great guy! they do make an adorable couple, but Im rather bummed that the story ended so abruptly, just when we were getting to the good part! I cant wait to continue this series!

Cameron & Paige

I loved Cameron.
He was just that type of guy that you could so easily fall for.

All bad boy on the outside but he is marshmallow on the inside.
He knew just how far to go with helping Paige when she was in the abusive relationship with Craig, and that gave him bonus points.

I wish it didn't take them so long though.
Could have been happier years ago... LOL

I recieved this in exchange for an honest review.

It was enjoyable but nothing I hadn't read before, the hero was formulaic and bland.

I admit to struggling to finish it and there was a seems of relief when I finally did.

Would I read b the rest in the series?..... No
Would I read this author again?.... Probably not

But this is just my opinion.

I really enjoyed the 2 nd in a coldcreek series. There is more drama with Paige. In book one Paige seemed like a spoiled girl but she has dreams and goals. she wants love. She tries to keep things a secret when her pig of a boyfriend ends up being not so nice. Cam sees it and helps her. Cam is a bad boy who has a huge heart. I love these two.

Paige is a sweet girl that did what are girls do blame themselves for the negative actions and behaviors of an abusive significant other. Cameron a bad boy that sees her worth whispers 3 little words to Paige that make her see who she's become.... Great story a must read!!!

This was a good book, however I felt there was too much time spent on Paige's original relationship and not the one building with Cameron
